  • Patent number: 6083094
Abstract: An apparatus and method for humane slaughtering of animals in accordance with Jewish and Muslim dietary laws with a high degree of reliably, are characterized by an animal enclosure that is mounted to a base for rotation about a longitudinal axis between a normal position and an inverted position. The enclosure has a top, bottom and opposite sides, and one of the opposite sides has a normally closed access opening adjacent the enclosure bottom that may be opened for permitting access to the hooves of the animal when the enclosure is inverted, whereby the animal can be easily shackled after having been inverted, i.e., turned over onto its back. Provision also is made for stretching and holding stretched the neck of the animal during slaughtering, and for laterally restraining the animal when being inverted onto its back, for properly longitudinally positioning the animal in the enclosure prior to inversion, and for allowing ready removal of the slaughtered animal from the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 5200208
Abstract: A multi-station rubber injection molding machine including plural molding stations for respective molds, a rubber injection unit, and a manifold assembly for selectively transferring uncured rubber from the rubber injection unit to a mold in any one of the molding stations. The manifold assembly includes an inlet for receiving molding material from the injection unit and a plurality of nozzle members each including a transfer passage and being movable into and out of operative engagement with a mold in the respective molding station. Each nozzle member has associated therewith members for connecting and disconnecting the transfer passage therein to and from the inlet respectively in response to movement of the nozzle member into and out of operative engagement with the mold.

  • Patent number: 4954074
Abstract: An injection bladder press characterized by a bladder mold including an upper mold part, a lower mold part and a mold core; a squeeze piston for squeezing the mold when closed; and an injection unit for injecting rubber molding material into the mold to mold a bladder therein. A flexible hose is connected at one end to the mold core for movement therewith and for delivery of fluid to the mold core, and at its other end to a self-retracting hose reel operative to pay out and retract the flexible hose during movement of the mold core. A top platen is mounted to a top bolster for movement away from the top bolster to facilitate access to the injection nozzle. The mold core actuator is located with a support column depending from a moving bolster. The support column is engaged by a pressure column for transfer of mold clamping force to the moving bolster from the squeeze piston in a bottom bolster.

  • Patent number: 4426201
Abstract: Screw feeder and ram injector units for injection molding presses are disclosed. The feeder and injector units incorporate several novel features including power extension and retraction of the feeder unit by the drive ram of the injector unit. The screw feeder unit is supported directly on the ram unit without the necessity of separate supports on the press frame. A ram drive piston and injector plunger are laterally supported by means supporting the drive assembly on the injector assembly. Temperature control of molding compound is afforded by fluid circulation in a block carried on the inlet area of the screw feeder and a jacketed outlet nozzle on the ram injector.
