  • Publication number: 20140165641
Abstract: A heat exchanger has heat exchange elements and an inlet header and an outlet header that fluidly communicate with the heat exchange elements. The inlet header has a fluid inlet. The heat exchange elements are connected to the inlet header along a length of the inlet header and are various distances from the fluid inlet. A distributor is located inside the inlet header, which distributor forms a perforated wall between the fluid inlet and the heat exchange elements. The distributor provides back pressure to incoming fluid into the inlet header, wherein the fluid is evenly distributed between the heat exchange elements.

  • Publication number: 20140096555
Abstract: An evaporator condenser has a condenser unit which has plural plate units separated from one another by air gaps. Each plate unit has first and second plates that are coupled together about a perimeter thereof. Each plate unit has a first edge and an opposite second edge. The first and second plates are coupled together along at least one line so as to form a first channel that extends from the first edge to the second edge in the second channel by communicates with the first channel and extends back to the first edge. The channels decrease in volume from an inlet to an outlet.

  • Publication number: 20050061025
Abstract: The end bonnets for a dry expansion heat exchanger of the shell and tube type having a plurality of bundles of tubes. A pair of end bonnets on opposite ends of the shell. Vertical flat impingement plates between the horizontal baffle ribs within the bonnets subdivide the bonnets into sub-chambers corresponding to the tube count in respective tube bundles. The cross-sectional areas of successive bundles of tubes increase to allow for expansion of the coolant as it flows through the heat exchanger and absorbs heat from the fluid to be cooled. The vertical plates in the end bonnets define restricted flow areas for the coolant which increases in flow area corresponding to the respective tube bundles.

  • Publication number: 20050044879
Abstract: Automatic oil removal from an ammonia evaporator/low pressure vessel in a refrigeration system is disclosed. A liquid refrigerant level controller is utilized to drain the oil. The controller works under the principle of fluid thermal conductivity. Oil having lower thermal conductivity as compared to liquid ammonia, activates the probe which in turn opens the valve to drain the oil accumulated in a trap of an evaporator or a low pressure vessel.
