  • Publication number: 20230422232
Abstract: A network node configured to communicate with a plurality of communication devices in a communications network via a plurality of beams can schedule communications based on the number of communication devices in each beam. The network node can determine a number of communication devices of the plurality of communication devices that are in a beam of the plurality of beams. The network node can determine a scheduling priority of a communication device of the plurality of communication devices based on the number of communication devices that are in the beam, the communication device being in the beam. The network node can select the beam based on the scheduling priority of the communication device. The network node can, responsive to selecting the beam, schedule communication with the communication device via the beam.

  • Publication number: 20230422238
Abstract: Systems and methods for scheduling downlink and/or uplink transmissions to wireless communication devices in a Time Division Duplexing (TDD) system that take into account downlink-to-uplink gap requirements of the wireless communication devices are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method performed by a network node for scheduling downlink and/or uplink transmissions to a plurality of wireless communication devices in a TDD system comprises obtaining path delay requirements (e.g., timing advance requirements) of a plurality of wireless communication devices, determining downlink-to-uplink gap requirements of the plurality of wireless communication devices based on the path delay requirements of the plurality of wireless communication devices, and performing scheduling for the plurality of wireless communication devices based on the downlink-to-uplink gap requirements of the plurality of wireless communication devices.

  • Patent number: 10044613
Abstract: Technology to process radio link control (RLC) groups is disclosed. In an example, a carrier aggregation (CA) capable user equipment (UE) operable process radio link control (RLC) groups can include a UE radio frequency (RF) transceiver and a processor. The UE RF transceiver can be configured to receive packets from more than one cell via a sending node RF transceiver. The processor can be configured to process service data units (SDU) of the packets in a radio link control (RLC) entity of a protocol stack (PS). Each SDU can be associated with an RLC flow identifier (RFI). The RFI can comprise an RLC group identifier (RGI) indicating the sending node RF transceiver, and a radio bearer identifier (RBID).

  • Publication number: 20140362829
Abstract: A User Equipment (UE) may be connected to multiple Enhanced Node Bs (eNBs). The multiple connection allows a UE to have an EPS bearer with multiple bearer paths, one routed through each of the eNBs. One eNB may implement a decision module to switch the bearer path to route incoming packets along a selected bearer path in order to achieve objectives such as maintaining Quality of Service (QoS) for the EPS bearer and/or maximizing overall network throughput. The eNB may gather information and metrics influencing these objectives from the other eNB and UE in order to make better bearer path decisions. The split bearer allows the UE to implement reduced protocol layers and reconfigure the protocol layers to match the bearer path selected by the eNB.

  • Publication number: 20070070973
Abstract: A method and system for achieving timeframe alignment between a Centralized Base Station Controller (CBSC) (106) and a Base Transceiver Site (BTS) (102) in a network is disclosed. The BTS returns a Forward Sequence Number (FSN) contained in a forward frame and a Packet Arrival Time Error (PATE) to the CBSC. The CBSC computes a Round Trip Time (RTT), using the FSN. The CBSC also computes a forward Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), using the RTT and the PATE. Thereafter, a CBSC transmission time is adjusted to align with the BTS, based on the adjusted UTC.

  • Patent number: 7076265
Abstract: A mobile unit 40 which is in a soft handoff condition 50 with a base station (32) has the power transmitted by the base station (32) on the mobile link (52) controlled. The base station (32) determines (70) when a frame erasure count reaches a particular level N. The base station then places this link in a clamped state (72) at minimum power. When the base station determines that M consecutive good frames have been received (92), the base station restores the link (52) to a normal state (94). A recovery arrangement (100, 110 and 120) prevents clamping by all base stations (32–34) and loss of the link.
