Abstract: A method and system for logging event data from at least one operable application program or at least one peripheral device operably connected to a server using a log manager device driver. The method includes the steps of registering the log manager device driver with the server to receive all the event data from the server, registering the log manager device driver with the server as a log manager file, the log manager device driver receiving the event data, and the log manager device driver responding to a download request for said log manager file from a requesting computer.

Abstract: A method and system for sharing a communication port between a plurality of servers through a communication mechanism. The method includes the steps of requesting access to the shared communication port by a first server, linking the first server to the shared communication port by the communication mechanism, requesting access to the shared communication port by at least one other server, linking the other server(s) to an available communication port by the communication mechanism, returning a status to the other server(s) indicating a link with the shared communication port by the communication mechanism, and accepting requests for the shared communication port by the first server.

Abstract: A system for providing a file with text in multiple languages, which includes a file having text for displaying in multiple languages, a string identifier for uniquely identifying each text in the file, a language identifier for uniquely identifying each language available for the file, a localized string for displaying text defined by the string identifier and the language identifier, a message catalog for storing a plurality of the localized strings, and a localized string retrieval function for retrieving the localized string according to the string identifier and the language identifier from the message catalog.
