  • Patent number: 7785082
Abstract: A rotating shaft is supported by journal bearings that can support without contacting the rotating shaft itself. Then, one end of both shaft end portions of the rotating shaft has a main impeller installed and the other end is provided with a sub impeller. By utilizing a force being generated by rotation of the main impeller, liquid being pumped (fluid being pumped) is sucked in through a suction port and discharged through a discharge port. On the other hand, by utilizing a force being generated by rotation of the sub impeller, fluid is transported to the journal bearings, thereby having the journal bearings support the rotating shaft.

  • Patent number: 6572114
Abstract: A seal ring provided between a rotating portion and a fixed portion in a rotating machine of steam turbine and the like is improved to accurately carry out predetermined movement so as to not cause deterioration of sealing performance. The seal ring is split into upper, lower, right side and left side seal ring pieces slidably contacting with each other via split planes with spaces being formed in the respective split planes. Springs are interposed in the spaces for activation in upward and downward directions. The upper and lower seal ring pieces are engaged with seal ring guides and the right side and left side seal ring pieces are engaged with seal ring guides so that all of the seal ring pieces are slidable in the upward and downward directions. Further, on the respective tips of the seal ring guides spaces of the upper seal ring piece and spaces of the lower seal ring piece are formed and springs are provided in the spaces for activation in the upward and downward directions.

  • Patent number: 6343792
Abstract: A shaft seal having a high abrasion resistance is disclosed, by which the leakage of the gas from the high-pressure side to the low-pressure side can be reduced. In the shaft seal, flexible leaves are multi-layered to form a ring shape. The shaft seal is mainly arranged around the rotation shaft of a gas turbine or the like. The relevant turbine comprises a casing, a compressor, a rotation shaft, moving blades attached to the rotation shaft, and stationary blades attached to the casing in a manner such that the stationary blades face the moving blades, wherein the shaft seals are provided between a plurality of stationary blades and the rotation shaft wherein the leaves of each shaft seal contact the rotation shaft. Under the rated operating conditions, the top ends of the leaves slightly separate from the surface of the rotation shaft due to the dynamic pressure generated by the rotation of the rotation shaft.

  • Patent number: 5884498
Abstract: A turborefrigerator in which a coolant discharged from a turbocompressor is condensed in a condenser by dissipating heat to a cooling medium and is then reduced by a throttling mechanism, and thereafter, the coolant evaporates by absorbing heat from a cooled medium in an evaporator and is circulated to the turbocompressor. The present invention simplifies the configuration of such a turborefrigerator, so that the size, weight and cost thereof are reduced. Moreover, the present invention enhances the coefficient of performance thereof and prevents lubricating oil and a cooling medium from blending with each other to cause inconveniences.
