  • Patent number: 10644782
Abstract: A wireless relay receives user data from User Equipment (UE). In the wireless relay, a Proxy Mobile Internet Protocol (PMIP) Media Access Gateway (MAG) compresses the user data and transfers a PMIP packet having a packet header and the compressed user data. In the wireless relay, relay equipment compresses the packet header and wirelessly transmits the PMIP packet. A wireless network node wirelessly receives the PMIP packet, decompresses the packet header, and transfers the PMIP packet to a network gateway. In the network gateway, a PMIP Local Mobility Anchor (LMA) receives the PMIP packet, decompresses the user data, and transfers the user data.

  • Patent number: 10631358
Abstract: A multi-Radio Access Technology (RAT) Central Unit (CU) receives N1/N2 signaling and N3 data from a Fifth Generation Core (5GC) network. The CU processes the N3 data with a 5G Service Data Adaption Protocol (SDAP) and processes the N2 signaling with a 5G New Radio (NR) Radio Resource Control (RRC) to generate 5G RRC signaling and 5G RRC instructions. The multi-RAT CU processes the 5G RRC instructions with a multi-RAT Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP), and in response, converts the 5G RRC signaling and the N1 signaling into LTE RRC signaling having Non-Access Stratum (NAS) signaling. An LTE Physical Layer High (PHY-H) generates and transfers LTE PHY-H instructions to an LTE Physical Layer Low (PHY-L) in Distributed Unit (DU) circuitry.

  • Patent number: 10620883
Abstract: A method and system for migrating data are described. A storage capture instance in a first format from a first type of device is received. Processing utilized to back up the storage capture instance to a second format of a snapshot tree is distributed to multiple storage nodes. A request to migrate at least part of the storage capture instance to a second type of device in a third format is received. In response to the request, processing utilized to migrate the at least part of the storage capture instance from the second format to the second type of device in the third format is distributed to the storage nodes. In one aspect, file(s) in a first network attached storage (NAS) device format are migrated to a second NAS device format. In another aspect, a virtual machine (VM) and/or file(s) therein having a first VM format are migrated to a second VM format.

  • Patent number: 10587373
Abstract: A method and system to help minimize communication latency. When data is to be transmitted from a transmitting entity to a receiving entity, the transmission will be scheduled to occur in a time interval that selected based on a consideration of the delay-sensitivity of the data and based on a HARQ delay associated with the selected time interval. For instance, if the data is particularly delay-sensitive, then the transmission could be scheduled to occur in a time interval that is selected based on the time interval having a relatively low associated HARQ delay, so as to help reduce the overall delay of the communication. Whereas, if the data is not particularly delay-sensitive, then the transmission could be scheduled to occur in a time interval that has a relatively high associated HARQ delay.

  • Patent number: 10540212
Abstract: Data-locality-aware task scheduling on hyper-converged computing infrastructures is provided. A plurality of data blocks referenced in an input/output (I/O) request are identified. The I/O request is based on scheduling logic that executes within a container that is deployed on a hyper-converged infrastructure. A block-location mapping table is scanned using a data block identifier that is associated with a present data block of the plurality of data blocks. Physical node(s) of the hyper-converged infrastructure that store the present data block are identified. A container-instance mapping table is scanned using one or more physical node identifiers that are associated with the physical node(s) that store the present data block. Container(s) deployed on physical node(s) that store the present data block are identified. The scheduling logic is provided with a list of identifier(s) that are respectively associated with the containers that are deployed on the physical node(s) that store the present data block.

  • Publication number: 20190289585
Abstract: In a wireless network, a Distributed Unit (DU) receives Uplink (UL) data from User Equipment (UE) and a Central Unit (CU) receives Downlink (DL) data for the UE. When DL-centric applications in the UE use the DL, the CU executes most network applications and the DU executes a few network applications. When the DL-centric applications use the UL, the DU executes the network applications and the CU transfers the UL data to the core. When UL-centric applications in the UE use the DL, the CU routes the DL data to the DU, and the DU executes the network applications. When the UL-centric applications use the UL, the DU executes a few network applications and the CU executes most network applications to route the data to the core. Advantageously, the DU and the CU are optimized to process UL/DL data for a user application based on whether the user application is UL-centric or DL-centric.

  • Publication number: 20190109901
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to IO initiator aware data migration. A set of statistical metrics for a replica of a data block on a first node of a plurality of nodes is obtained. The first set of statistical metrics is associated with read operations on the replica. The read operations are operations initiated by a second node of the plurality of nodes. If it is determined that a first statistical metric in the set of statistical metrics exceeds a predefined threshold, the replica is migrated from the first node to the second node.

  • Patent number: 10165538
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system for use of DCN-ID data as a basis for service configuration and differentiation. A UE may be provisioned with a DCN-ID that correlates with a service plan to which the UE subscribes, and the UE may include the DCN-ID in an attach request that the UE sends to a NB. The NB may then map the included DCN-ID to a service configuration for the UE and take action to configure service for the UE accordingly. In an example implementation, the service configuration could include a quantity of secondary NBs to be added for concurrent service of the UE, a set of one or more DCNs in which the UE should be connected, and a set of one or more application-layer services to be provided for the UE.

  • Patent number: 10142008
Abstract: In a wireless relay, an eNodeB exchanges user data between User Equipment (UE) and a Local Gateway (L-GW). The L-GW separates the user data into Radio Area Network (RAN) user data and Wide Area Network (WAN) user data. The L-GW performs Tunneling Compression Multiplexing (TCM) on the RAN and WAN user data. The L-GW exchanges the compressed RAN and WAN user data with a data switch. The data switch exchanges the compressed RAN user data with Relay Equipment (RE) and exchanges the compressed WAN user data with an Internet Protocol Security (IPSec) agent. The RE performs Robust Header Compression (ROHC) over Long Term Evolution for a RAN data tunnel and wirelessly exchanges the compressed RAN user data over the compressed RAN data tunnel. The IPSec agent performs ROHCoIPSec for a WAN data tunnel and exchanges the compressed WAN user data over the compressed WAN data tunnel.
