Abstract: A multicast/unicast admission control method, a multicast/unicast admission control device, and a multicast/unicast admission control system are provided. In the method, through centralized resource control of a resource and admission control subsystem (RACS), sharing of multicast/unicast resources is realized. The RACS allocates and authorizes resources to an access node (AN), the AN manages the obtained multicast resources under the authorization, and the resource allocation is adjusted through interaction when the multicast resources of the AN or the resources of the RACS are not sufficient.

Abstract: System and method for resource admission and control is disclosed. The system for resource admission and control includes an interface unit for application function unit configured to receive service request sent from the application function unit; a policy decision function unit configured to identify the type of an access network according to the service request received by the interface unit for the application function unit and select corresponding service logic for resource admission and control according to the identified type of access network. According to the technical solutions, no matter the request for resource is made to a fixed access network defined in TISPAN, or to a wireless access network defined in the 3GPP, the policy decision function unit xPDF may identify the type of the access network and select corresponding service logic to perform resource admission and control.

Abstract: A method, device and system for managing resources in networks are provided, which relate to the field of data communication. The method includes the following steps. A resource manager (RM) sends a first request message according to a received resource request message, to request an access node (AN) to perform admission control. After receiving an admission control result indicating whether a resource requested by the resource request message is admitted, the RM sends a response message of the resource request message. Therefore, when multicast/unicast connection admission control (CAC) that supports shared bandwidth is realized, flow fusions of user line configuration between the AN and a broadband remote access system (BRAS, and policy distribution between a resource and admission control subsystem (RACS) and the BRAS are guaranteed; and sharing of bandwidth resources is realized to avoid waste of the bandwidth resources.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of communications technologies, and discloses a method, an apparatus, and a system for allocating Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) resources to save bandwidth resources in the IPTV service. The method includes the following: a multicast access control entity allocates resources to a unicast access control entity through an intermediate network entity when unicast resources are not enough; and the unicast access control entity allocates resources to the multicast access control entity through the intermediate network entity when multicast resources are not enough. The present invention is primarily applicable to IPTV technologies.

Abstract: A method for processing device overload in a communication network includes: a device involved in a service connection checking in real time whether processing capability of the device exceeds an overload threshold set in the device, and sending to a neighboring device of the device an overload alarm message containing an address of the device if the processing capability of the device exceeds the overload threshold; the neighboring device restricting traffic passing through the device after receiving the overload alarm message. The method of the present invention enables the device involved in the service connection to automatically lead the establishment of the subsequent service connection reasonably, which improves the operation efficiency of network and shortens the processing delay of service connection.

Abstract: The invention discloses a method for implementing resource applications of multiple service flows, including: receiving by a connection manager (CM) a connection resource request message including resource applications of at least two service flows; allocating paths and reserving resources for the service flows by the CM; sending by the CM the paths allocated for the service flows and resources reserved for the service flows to an edge router of a bearer network accessed by the service flows.

Abstract: The embodiments of this invention disclose a method and system for forwarding traffic in a bearer network. The method includes: a CA related to a service call instructing a bearer network resource manager managed by the CA to allocate a QoS policy and reserve resources for the service call; the bearer network resource manager issuing the QoS policy to an edge device in a management domain managed by the bearer network resource manager; the edge device forwarding traffic matching the QoS policy after bearer network resource managers managed by CAs related to the service call successfully allocate QoS policies and reserve resources. With the embodiments of this invention, the bearer network may be controlled precisely whether to forward traffic, and thus it may be avoided effectively that traffic is imported into the bearer network before the service connection is established so as to acquire exact service data amount.

Abstract: A method for allocating bearer network resources is disclosed, which includes: each bearer network resource manager deciding after receiving a QoS resource request whether the destination user of the QoS resource request is an intra-domain user, if yes, selecting an intra-domain LSP, allocating resources on the selected intra-domain LSP, and terminating the procedure; otherwise selecting an inter-domain LSP based on the inter-domain routing policy pre-configured in the bearer network resource manager, and allocating resources on the selected inter-domain LSP; then selecting an intra-domain LSP based on the information of the selected inter-domain LSP and the service information, and allocating resources on the selected intra-domain LSP; and sending the QoS resource request with the information of the selected inter-domain LSP carried in to the downstream bearer network resource manager. This invention makes it possible for the operator to allocate resources according to a routing policy.
