  • Publication number: 20160049846
Abstract: A rotary magnetic transmission structure that can achieve stable transmission is provided. Two magnetic members having radial magnetic fields are fixed on each shaft of two parallel shafts A and B; the radial magnetic fields of the two co-axial magnetic members both spread at an angle greater than 60 degrees and less than 90 degrees; using the first magnetic members of each shaft A and B as references, the direction of opening of the angle between the radial magnetic field of the second magnetic member and the radial magnetic field of the co-axial first magnetic member on the same shaft is opposite to that on the other shaft. This structure can obviously reduce the peak effect at the two poles of the magnetic fields of the magnetic members between the two shafts, so that the transmission is stable during non-contact rotary transmission.

  • Patent number: 9249042
Abstract: A process and an apparatus for refining molten glass by introducing, a stream of unrefined molten glass into a controlled environment distributing the stream of molten glass over a flow surface, and collecting the stream of molten glass from a downstream end of the flow surface to form a body of molten glass having a free surface exposed to the controlled environment. The controlled environment, may have a pressure less than ambient atmospheric pressure, such that introducing the stream of molten glass into the controlled environment causes gaseous inclusions in the stream of molten glass to rise to a surface thereof and escape.

  • Publication number: 20150060444
Abstract: A glass container and a process for forming an inorganic silica coating on an exterior surface of the glass container to improve one or more surface characteristics of the glass container. A sol-gel solution including a polysilazane and an organic solvent is applied to the exterior surface of the glass container to form a sol-gel coating thereon. The glass container and the sol-gel coating are then exposed to a water vapor-containing environment and heated at a temperature of between 150 degrees Celsius and 600 degrees Celsius to transform the sol-gel coating into an inorganic silica coating. The as-formed silica coating has a hardness of greater than 8.5 GPa and is bonded to the exterior surface of the glass container through a plurality of siloxane bonds.

  • Patent number: 8596817
Abstract: Certain example embodiments relate to lighting system covers that include AR-coated textured glass, and/or methods of making the same. In certain example embodiments, at least one light source is provided proximate to a cover comprising a glass substrate. The glass substrate includes an anti-reflective (AR) coating on the surface that is closer to the at least one light source, and the glass substrate is textured (e.g., such that it is substantially prismatic in texture) on the surface opposite the AR-coated surface. The surface of the glass substrate on which the AR coating is formed may be a flat, irregular, or textured matte. An optional AR coating also may be formed on the textured surface of the glass substrate.

  • Publication number: 20120009388
Abstract: Certain example embodiments of this invention relate to the development of temperable UV blocking coatings having enhanced UV blocking efficiency and aesthetic appearance on stock sheets of glass substrates using large-scale wet coating manufacturing methods. A glass substrate is provided. A base coat is curtain coated on the glass substrate from a oxide precursor material including zinc, cerium, titanium, and silicon precursor materials. The base coat is cured. A top coat is roll coated, directly or indirectly, on the base coat, with the top coat being a sacrificial cross-linked organic polymer-based layer. The substrate is heat treated with the base coat and the top coat thereon. The base coat and the top coat are substantially uniform in thickness, and the heat treating removes substantially all of the top coat while causing substantially no cracking in the base coat.

  • Publication number: 20100068404
Abstract: Certain example embodiments relate to a draw-off coating apparatus and/or system for depositing a coating on a substrate (e.g., a glass substrate), and/or a method of making coating articles using the same. At least one substrate to be coated is inserted into a tank. A liquid or sol-gel like mixture (either or both of which may have a low viscosity) is pumped into the tank in a controlled manner. The at least one substrate is allowed to dwell in the mixture. The liquid or sol-gel like mixture is drawn-off of the tank in another controlled manner. The drawn-off liquid or sol-gel like mixture may be provided to another tank having at least one substrate to be coated. Thus, it is possible in certain example embodiments to form coatings on large-dimension glass substrates, while enabling desired coating performance on one or both surfaces of the glass substrates to be achieved.

  • Patent number: 6837295
Abstract: A magnetic transmission system for an adjustable curtain installed inside a double pane window. Under full insulation condition of the double pane window, by use of two magnetic pieces separated by the glass, the rotation of the magnetic pieces will drive a pull cord, which will then effectively control and adjust the status of the curtain which is installed inside the window. The invention provides large transmission power in a small space. In addition to the typical thermal and acoustic insulation functions, the invention adds additional function of easy and flexible light adjustment. The invention can be widely used in different applications, such as standard home doors and windows, movable windows and large-scale windows, door and glass walls, skylights, etc.

  • Publication number: 20040057793
Abstract: A method for accelerating the drying rate of a ceramic bead-containing thermosetting road marking composition admixture when deposited onto a road surface is described. The method comprising heating ceramic beads to a temperature from about 100° to about 500° F. The heated ceramic beads are then admixed with a liquid thermosetting road marking composition to form a substantially homogeneous admixture. This substantially homogeneous admixture is then deposited onto the road surface where it drys at an accelerated rate.
