    Abstract: The present disclosure provides high-grade ethanol production systems and methods that increase energy efficiency as compared to typical systems and methods by minimizing undesired acetal formation. The provided ethanol production method may include a low boilers removal distillation column and/or a stripper column constructed to simultaneously remove at least a portion of the acetaldehyde and at least a portion of the acetal from a feed stream in the presence of water. In some aspects, a low boilers removal process may be followed by a water removal process, which may be followed by a high boilers removal process. Acidity (e.g., carbon dioxide) may also be removed from a feed stream prior to or during the low boilers removal process. By minimizing acetal production, the provided method minimizes the amount of energy that is required to remove acetal when producing high-grade ethanol.

In one technique, multiple scores generated by a prediction model are identified, each score corresponding to a different entity of multiple entities. Multiple buckets are determined, each bucket corresponding to a different range of scores. Each entity is assigned to a bucket based on the score corresponding to the entity. A probability distribution function is generated based on the scores and a number of scores belonging to each bucket. For each entity, a probability of sampling the entity is determined based on the probability distribution function and a score corresponding to the entity. A subset of the entities are sampled based on the probability determined for each entity.

Nano-copper has superplastic ductility and conductivity, and the prior art has proved that lithium ions can penetrate nano-copper; therefore, the copper coating layer has effects of inhibiting the volume expansion of the silicon-based nanoparticle and keeping the silicon-based nanoparticle from cracking so that direct contact between the silicon-based nanoparticle and an electrolyte is effectively avoided and a stable SEI is formed, and increasing the conductivity of the electrode.

    Abstract: The invention provides a composite-coated nano-tin negative electrode material, which comprises a tin-based nanomaterial, a nano-copper layer coated on the surface of the tin-based nanomaterial and a conductive protective layer coated on the surface of the nano-copper layer. The nano-copper layer can inhibit the volume expansion of nano-tin, keep the nano-tin material from cracking, avoid direct contact between nano-tin and electrolyte to form stable SEI and increase the conductivity of the electrode. Coating a conductive layer on the surface of the nano-copper layer can effectively inhibit the oxidation of nano-copper, thus improving its electrochemical performance. The composite-coated nano-tin negative electrode material according to the invention is used as a negative electrode material of a lithium-ion battery, has excellent electrochemical performance, and has potential application prospects in portable mobile devices and electric vehicles.

According to the charge sensitive amplifier and the radiation sensor including the same, it is possible to minimize a variation in a signal voltage of a charge sensitive amplifier output signal by applying a current, which is formed by mirroring a current bias circuit designed to be insensitive to PVT variations, to a gate of a feedback transistor. Furthermore, it is possible to reduce a variation in charging time and enable high-speed sensing by charging the signal voltage to the level of a common voltage VCOM by using a constant current supplied through a bandgap reference (BGR) circuit.

    Abstract: A fire protection article is provided that includes a fire barrier comprising a plurality of non-combustible fibers, and a passive thermal insulator coupled to the fire barrier and comprising a plurality of non-meltable fibers. Optionally, the fire protection article displays a time to break in the 1100° C. Break Strength Test of at least 10 seconds or a minimum tensile strength at 150° C. of at least 5 kPa. Optionally, the fire barrier comprises substantially continuous fibers that are mutually entangled. The fire barrier and passive thermal insulator can be mutually secured using a suitable polymeric binder, such a thermoplastic fluoropolymer binder. The combination of a relatively thin fire barrier with a comparatively thicker passive thermal insulator can provide thermal runaway protection in lithium-ion battery applications, structural integrity and a high degree of thermal insulation in the event of fire exposure.
