  • Patent number: 5773409
Abstract: A fabric softening composition is described which has a substantially water-insoluble fabric softening compound and a solubilizing agent which is a non-ionic surfactant and may include a non-surfactant cosolubilizer. The composition is up to at least 70 wt. % soluble when diluted in water to a concentration of 5 wt. % of the mixture of the fabric softening compound and the solubilizing agent. The fabric softening compound comprises a head group and two alkyl or alkenyl chains each having an average chain link equal to a greater than C.sub.14 or a single alkyl or alkenyl chain with an average chain link equal to a greater than C.sub.20.
