  • Patent number: 8513398
Abstract: In one embodiment, the invention relates to a method of detecting cervical cancer, and other types of cancer, using a combination of at least three genomic clones, or fragments thereof, of high risk Human Papilloma Virus. For example, the invention relates to a composition comprising at least three full length genomic clones, or fragments thereof, of high risk Human Papilloma Viruses.

  • Patent number: 8399193
Abstract: The present invention relates to the identification of novel DNA biomarkers and the use of the aberrant methylation patterns of the biomarkers to diagnose a disease or a condition (e.g., a cancer) associated therewith. In particular, the present invention relates to the use of the novel DNA biomarkers to diagnose lung cancers, e.g., squamous cell carcinomas and adenocarcinomas.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 29, 2008
Date of Patent: March 19, 2013
    Assignee: City of Hope

  • Publication number: 20060183115
Abstract: A new technique to determine the extent of DNA methylation entails generating DNA fragments of a test sample by cleaving at methylation sites that are not methylated while sparing methylation sites in the DNA that are methylated. This approach provides enhanced sensitivity to differences of even a single methylated cytosine, within or outside of a CpG island, and yet it can be employed to ascertain the methylation status of a region of DNA comprising a CpG island, a DNA region comprising one or more CpG-containing islands, or even a large variety of DNA regions.
