Hook Device for curtain

Abstract

A hook device for curtain is provided. The device has a plurality of hooks each comprises one pointed end inserted into a draw drapery for securing thereto, a first hook end inserted into and for hanging on one of a plurality of carriers slidingly received in a track, and a second hook end inserted into and for hanging on a shade cloth. This enables to wash or replace draw drapery and shade cloth individually. Further, shade cloth may be removed if desired.

FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to curtains and more particularly to a hook device for curtain with improved characteristics.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] A conventional curtain assembly is shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 comprising a draw drapery 1 formed of transparent soft fabric, a shade cloth 2 formed of relatively hard opaque plastic material being stitched to outer upper side of draw drapery 1, a plurality of longitudinal pleats 3 equally spaced apart on draw drapery 1, a plurality of hooks 5 each having one pointed end 4 inserted into outer side of the corresponding pleat 3 for securing thereto, a plurality of carriers 7 each having a hole 8 with the other end of hook 5 inserted into (i.e., hanging), and a track 6 for slidingly receiving carriers 7. Hence, draw drapery 1 together with shade cloth 2 are capable of being pulled to open or close.

[0003] However, the previous design suffered from several disadvantages. For example, draw drapery 1 and shade cloth 2 formed of different types of material wherein the former is a washable while the later is not. Hence, for cleaning dirt on draw drapery 1 and/or shade cloth 2 people has to wash them both. As a result, the later is sthroughnk after washed. This may deform curtain. A way to prevent such is to send curtain to a professional laundry for cleaning. But the cost is relatively high. Further, as compared with draw drapery 1 shade cloth 2 tends to oxidize by direct sunshine after a long time of use (i.e., lifetime is shorter). It is typical for people to throw both of them away since they are stitched together when only shade cloth 2 is not usable. Such replacement is not cost effective. Furthermore, there is no way to pull only one of draw drapery 1 and shade cloth 2 (since they are stitched together) if such is desired.

[0004] Thus, it is desirable to provide an improved hook device for curtain in order to overcome the above drawbacks of prior art.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a hook device for curtain having a plurality of hooks each comprising one pointed end inserted into a draw drapery for securing thereto, a first hook end inserted into and for hanging on one of a plurality of carriers slidingly received in a track, and a second hook end inserted into and for hanging on a shade cloth. This has the advantages of washing or replacing draw drapery and shade cloth individually, thus saving cost. Further, shade cloth may be removed if people desires to let sunshine pass through draw drapery.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0017] Referring to FIGS. 3 to 8, there is shown a first preferred embodiment of curtain according to the invention comprising a draw drapery 10 formed of transparent soft fabric, a plurality of longitudinal pleats 11 equally spaced apart on draw drapery 10, a plurality of hooks 40 formed of steel or plastic material and each having one pointed end 41 inserted into outer side of the corresponding pleat 11 for securing thereto, a shade cloth 20 formed of relatively hard opaque plastic material and having a plurality of equally spaced apertures 22 on top side with a first hook end 43 of hook 40 inserted into for hanging and a plurality of rivets 21 below apertures 22 for fastening shade cloth 20, a plurality of carriers 31 each having a hole 32 with a second hook end 42 of hook 40 inserted into for hanging, and a track 6 for slidingly receiving carriers 31. Note that pointed end 41 of hook 40 is formed separately prior to welding to the remaining portion of hook 40.

[0018] The advantages of the invention include: People may wash or replace draw drapery 10 and shade cloth 20 individually, thus saving cost. Further, shade cloth 20 may be removed if people desires to let sunshine pass through draw drapery 10.

[0019] Referring to FIGS. 9 and 10, there is shown a second preferred embodiment of curtain according to the invention. The difference between first and second embodiments is that hook of the later is formed integrally.

Claims

1. A hook device for a curtain, the hook device having a plurality of hooks each comprising one pointed end inserted into a draw drapery for securing thereto, a first hook end inserted into and for hanging on one of a plurality of carriers slidingly received in a track, and a second hook end inserted into and for hanging on a shade cloth.

2. The hook device of claim 1, wherein the pointed end is formed separately prior to securing to the first and the second hook ends.

3. The hook device of claim 1, wherein the hook is formed integrally.

4. The hook device of claim 1, wherein the hook is formed of either a steel or plastic material.
