Wind pressure releasable umbrella/parasol

Abstract

A wind pressure releasable umbrella/parasol each of whose plurality of main ribs has a brace tied to its lower end at one end and the other end hung free in a cantilever manner. An upper cover cloth is shading from the top ends of the main ribs and down to points corresponding to the free ends of the braces, on the hand, a lower cover cloth is shading from the free ends of the braces down to the lower ends of the main ribs. A slit of clearance is formed between slightly overlapped edges of the two cover clothes so as to release wind pressure exerted on the umbrella/parasol by allowing the wind to leak therefrom.

Description

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention relates to wind pressure releasable umbrella/parasol, and more particularly, to an umbrella or a parasol in which a simple improvement is made to a conventional umbrella/parasol structure so as to form an umbrella or a parasol being able to evade attack of strong wind.

[0003] 2. Description of the Prior Art

[0004] An umbrella or a parasol is one of the important and convenient personal accoutrements for a man or a woman to protect his/her body from rain or sunlight. It is the reason why such a primitive accoutrement has lasted so long time serving faborably for human life.

[0005] Meanwhile, there is a bothersome fact that either an umbrella or a parasol often has to suffer from strong wind attack. A great wind pressure exerted on the cover cloth of an umbrella/parasol will possibly flex or even break its ribs resulting in damaging its function.

[0006] Aiming at the above depicted defects, the present invention is to propose a newly developed wind pressure releasable umbrella/parasol that a simple improvement is made to a conventional umbrella/parasol structure enable it to evade attack of strong wind. This elaborately designed new structure has come out through the present inventor's persistent efforts in research and experiment for a long time which will be disclosed herein.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0007] It is an object of the present invention to provide a wind pressure releasable umbrella/parasol whose cover cloth is splitted into an upper cover cloth and a lower cover cloth leaving a slit of clearance therebetween to release the wind pressure.

[0008] It is another object of the present invention to provide a wind pressure releasable umbrella/parasol that is constructed simple and handy with a low production cost.

[0009] The aforesaid objects are achieved by an umbrella/parasol each of whose plurality of main ribs has a brace tied to its lower end at one end and the other end hung free in a contilever manner. An upper cover cloth is shading from the top ends of the main ribs down to points corresponding to the free ends of the braces, one the other hand, a lower cover cloth is shading from the free ends of the braces down to the lower ends of the main ribs. A slit of clearance is formed between slightly overlapped edges of the two cover clothes so as to release wind pressure exerted on the umbrella/parasol by allowing the wind to leak therefrom .

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0015] Referring simultaneously to FIGS. 1 through 3, a wind pressure releasable umbrella/parasol of the present invention comprises:

[0016] a spinal column 5;

[0017] a grip 8 provided at the bottom end of the spinal column 5 for the user to hole;

[0018] a top hoop 4 attached to the top end of the spinal column 5;

[0019] a plurality of slightly curved main ribs whose upper ends tied to the top hoop 4;

[0020] a bottom hoop 6 encircling over the spinal column 5 being able to slide up and down along the spinal column 5;

[0021] a plurality of auxiliary ribs 3 each tied to the bottom hoop 6 with its one end and connected to a proper position at the corresponding main rib with its other end so that the auxiliary ribs 3 are able to push the main ribs 1 upwards following the movement of the bottom-hoop 6 towards the top hoop 4 when opening the umbrella/parasol;

[0022] a plurality of braces 2 each inlaid into a containment kerf formed at the lower end of each main rib 1 with its one end and remained hanging free in a cantilever manner at its other end for enhancing the mechanical strength of the main rib 1;

[0023] an upper cover cloth 71 shading from the top ends of the main ribs 1 and down to points corresponding to the free ends of the braces 2;

[0024] a lower cover cloth 72 shading from the free ends of the braces 2 and down to the lower ends of the main ribs 1, the lower cover cloth is provided with a center hole for the main ribs to tunnel through thereby facilitating installation of said lower cover cloth.

[0025] With this structure, a slit of clearance 73 is formed between slightly overlapped edges of the two cover clothes 71, 72 so as to release wind pressure exerted on the umbrella/parasol by allowing the wind to leak therefrom and preventing the main and auxiliary ribs from being flexed or even broken by the wind attack.

[0026] Referring to FIG. 4, the drawing illustrates another embodiment of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 4, a main rib 9 is foldable in two, or even in three sections so that the umbrella/parasol of the present invention is more handy and more convenient to carry. Rest parts of the structure are identical as those described in the previous embodiment.

[0027] It reveals from the description of the above embodiments that the invention has several noteworthy advantages, in particular:

[0028] 1. The cover cloth is splitted into an upper cover cloth and a lower cover cloth leaving a slit of clearance therebetween to release the wind pressure.

[0029] 2. The present invention is constructed so simple and handy that it is not only convenient to carry but also able to reduce production cost.

[0030] Those who are skilled in the art will readily perceive how to modify the invention. Therefore, the appended claims are to be construed to cover all equivalent structures which fall within scope and spirit of the invention.

Claims

1. Wind pressure releasable umbrella/parasol essentially comprising:

a spinal column:

a top hoop attached to the top end of said spinal column:

a bottom hoop encircling over said spinal column being able to slide up and down along said spinal column;

a plurality of main ribs whose upper ends being tied to said top hoop;

a plurality of auxiliary ribs each tied to said bottom hoop with its one end and connected to a proper position at the corresponding main rib with its other end;

a plurality of braces each tied to the lower end of corresponding main rib with its one end, and remained hanging free in a contilever manner at its other end;

an upper cover cloth shading from the top end of said main ribs and down to points corresponding to the free ends of said braces; and

a lower cover cloth shading from the free ends of said braces and down to the lower end of said main ribs;

with this structure, a slit of clearance is formed between slightly overlapped edges of the two cover clothes so as to release wind pressure exerted on said umbrella/parasol by allowing the wind to leak therefrom.

2. The umbrella/parasol of claim 1, wherein each of said plurality of braces is inlaid into a containment kerf formed in each of said plurality of main ribs thereby saving useful space.

3. The umbrella/parasol of claim 1, wherein said lower cover cloth is provided with a center hole for said main ribs to tunnel through thereby facilitating installation of said lower cover cloth.

4. The umbrella/parasol of claim 1, wherein said plurality of main ribs are formed of non-articulated rods.

5. The umbrella/parasol of claim 1, wherein said plurality of main ribs are formed of rods with multi-articulated joints.

6. The umbrella/parasol of claim 5, wherein said multi-articulated main ribs are foldable in more than two sections.
