Toilet accessory cabinet (TAC)

Abstract

A Toilet Accessories Cabinet allows the home owner to have it unobtrusively placed between the studs to inconspicuously hold those items which are an eyesore asceticaly in a bathroom. Those items being a plunger, toilet brush, cleansers and toilet tissue.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] This invention relates to bathroom storage especially that which is designed to hold toilet cleaning supplies or products. This invention also addresses the dilemma of what to do with large unsightly toilet plungers and brushes that more often than not are left in plain view. Most toilet brush holders are designed to hold the brush only in a ceramic or plastic freestanding container.

[0002] Other bathroom cabinets are designed to be used as a medicine cabinet, wall hung or placed between the wall studs. They can be one piece or modular like U.S. Pat. No. 5,954,411—Two Step Cabinet or U.S. Pat. No. 5,577,819 Bathroom Appliance Cabinet for electronically operated appliances.

[0003] The need for secure storage for a toilet brush was brought to the attention of the inventor when her 5-lb. Chihuahua ran into the living room while guest were present with a toilet brush firmly in her mouth.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF INVENTION

[0004] The Toilet Accessory Cabinet (TAC) in its shallow form can hold a toilet brush, additional rolls of toilet paper, and cleansers. In its telescopic form it can accommodate a toilet plunger in addition to the toilet brush, toilet paper, and cleansers.

[0005] With the use of this invention it is no longer necessary to have cleansers, toilet brushes, toilet plungers and toilet tissue inconveniently stored under the sink or laying on the bathroom floor. BRIEF

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0016] A typical view of this invention in its closed stage is seen in View #3. The invention consists of two boxes as seen in View #1. The doors are hinged and reversible so that either door can open from right to left or left to right. A magnetic hinge holds the doors closed.

[0017] The first box is slightly smaller than the second box allowing the first box to slide into the second box. In shallow walls between the studs the Toilet Accessory Cabinet can hold limited supplies, i.e., toilet brush, cleaners, and tissue, whereas most bathroom walls are at least 5 to 6″ deep and many homes are built with bathrooms back-to-back thereby allowing the cabinet to be expanded telescopically to its larger version of 6½″ deep. Now we have one cabinet placed just above the floor between the studs in the wall, which can service both bathrooms with the necessary toilet accessories. Hooks can be applied so that the brush hangs and toilet tissue as shown in View #10 can always be placed on the handle of the plunger.

[0018] The Toilet Accessory Cabinet is a rectangular box approximately 13½″ wide fitting between most wall studs and 27″ high to accommodate the height of a plunger and most importantly its telescopic ability allows the home owner and/or builder to use it in varying building situations as it expands from 4″ to 6½″ in depth.

[0019] The Toilet Accessory Cabinet can be hung so that the doors swing right to left or left to right depending on placement necessity.

[0020] The Toilet Accessory Cabinet can be painted or wallpapered to camouflage its appearance.

Claims

1. A Toilet Accessory Cabinet that fits between the studs in the wall that can be expanded telescopically.

2. When homes are built with bathrooms back-to-back it is possible to use this Toilet Accessory Cabinet from both bathrooms as each bathroom has the opportunity of having the doors open right to left or left to right.
