Buckle for an infant carrying band

A buckle for an infant carrying band includes a base shell having a hollow chamber inside and a through hole provided on the front surface, communicating with the chamber. A curved engage member is fitted in the chamber and has its press member protruding out of the base shell through the through hole. The engage member has two clasps respectively provided at the opposite ends for clasping the couplings connected with an infant's carrying bands. Thus, the curved engage member is fitted in the chamber of the base shell, having proper resilience, and then two couplings are respectively clasped by the clasps at the opposite ends of the base shell. To disengage the couplings from the clasps, only press down the press member of the curved engage member.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] This invention relates to a buckle for an infant-carrying band, particularly to one having a curved engage member inserted in a base shell and having the press projection of the engage member protruding out of the base shell to be compressed and let the opposite couplers disengaged from the engage member.

[0002] Conventionally, an adult carries an infant on his back with the help of an infant-carrying band. In earlier period, the infant-carrying band 10, as shown in FIG. 6, was a square kerchief 101 having one end of each of four tying bands 102 directly sewed at four corners. When an infant was carried on back, the square kerchief is laid on the infant's back first and then two lower tying bands 102 were respectively passed the infant's crotches and tied with two diagonal tying bands 102 passed over the adult's shoulders. However, it will always take a long time to have one unit of diagonal tying bands 102 tied together first and have the other unit done in the same way subsequently. Besides, the infant is liable to drop down on the ground in case of carelessness, and sometimes the tying bands 102 will be tied into a fast knot, resulting in much inconvenience and trouble in untying the bands 102.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0003] The objective of the invention is to offer a buckle for an infant carrying band, including a base shell having a hollow chamber inside and a through hole formed on the front surface and communicating with the chamber. Then, a curved engage member is fitted in the chamber, with the press member of the engage member protruding out of the base shell through the through hole. Besides, one clasp is respectively provided at the opposite ends of the curved engage member to clasp two couplings of the carrying bands respectively.

[0004] Thus, the curved engage member is first fitted in the base shell, having a proper resilience, and then two couplings are respectively engaged with the clasps at opposite ends of the base shell. To unlock the buckle, only press down the press member to force the couplings disengaged from the clasps.

DETALED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0012] A first preferred embodiment of the buckle for an infant carrying band of the present invention, as shown in FIG. 1, includes a base shell 1, a curved engage member 2 and two couplings 4 as main components combined together.

[0013] The base shell 1 is formed with a chamber 11 having an opening on opposite ends, a lateral concave guiding groove 12 formed on the rear inner wall and a through hole 13 bored on the front surface, communicating with the chamber 11.

[0014] The engage member 2 is formed with a curved plate 21 having a height a bit smaller than that of the guiding groove 12 of the base shell 1. The curved plate 21 has a press member 22 provided on a center portion, two clasps 23 provided on opposite end surfaces and protruding inward in a parabolic form, and two projections 24 formed under the opposite ends.

[0015] Two couplings 4 respectively have a fit member 41 provided at a front end and two pairs of through slots 42 provided at rear sides for bands to insert therethrough. The number and position of the through slots 42 are decided according to the way for the carrying belts 31 to be provided. For instance, FIGS. 1, 2, 3 and 4 show that two pairs of through slots 42 are provided in each couplers 4, a vertical one and a horizontal one, and FIG. 5 shows that only one pair of through slots 42 (vertical) is provided.

[0016] In assembling, as shown in FIG. 2, the curved engage member 2 is directly fitted in the base shell 1 through the concave guiding groove 12 and has its press member 22 protruding out of the through hole 13 of the base shell 1, letting the engage member positioned in place. At this time, the engage member 2 only has its two projections 24 at opposite ends touch the rear wall of the concave guiding groove 12, with a space formed between two projections 24 for the press member 22 to be pressed down elastically.

[0017] Next, the fit member 41 of each couplings 4 is inserted into the chamber 11 through its opening to let the clasp 23 of the curved engage member 2 inserted in the center hole of the fit member 41 and fixedly clasping the couplings 4.

[0018] To disengage the couplings 4 from the curved engage member 2, only press down the press member 22 to force the clasps 23 separated from the center hole of the fit member 41 of the couplings 4.

[0019] Evidently, the buckle for an infant carrying band of this invention can do away with the inconvenience and trouble of tying or untying the carrying band when used for carrying an infant, simple in structure, easy in assembling and convenient in handling.

Claims

1. A buckle for an infant carrying band comprising;

a base shell formed with a chamber inside and provided with a through hole on the front surface, said through hole communicating with said chamber to let a press member of a curved engage member protrude out therethrough;
a curved engage member having a height a bit smaller than that of a concave guiding groove inside said base shell, said curved engage member fitted in said chamber of said base shell, said engage member provided with a press member protruding upward on the center portion and two clasps protruding upward and inward on opposite end sides;
two couplings having a fit member at one end and two pairs of through slots at the other end for said bands to thread therethrough;
said curved engage member fitted in said chamber of said base shell with proper resilience, said two couplings respectively inserted in said chamber and clasped by said clasps at opposite sides of said base shell, said press member pressed down to let said couplings disengaged from said clasps.

2. The buckle for an infant carrying band as claimed in claim 1, wherein said clasps at opposite upper end sides of said curved engage member are formed in a parabolic form, protruding upward and inward.

3. The buckle for an infant carrying band as claimed in claim 1, wherein said curved engage member has two projections respectively formed at opposite bottom ends.

4. The buckle for an infant carrying band as claimed in claim 1, wherein said base shell has a lateral concave guiding groove formed on the rear inner wall for engaging and guiding said curved engage member.
