Abstract

The Shoes with Interchangeable Shoe Covers is a shoe cover system for Clog and Loafer type shoes that allow you to change the appearance of the shoes as desired. The shoe covers allow the wearer to partially change the top and side appearance of a pair of shoes to different colors, shapes, prints, designs, textures or styles. The covers provide a fast and inexpensive way to match the shoes to a varied wardrobe in just a few seconds.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0004] The invention in this document “Shoes with Interchangeable Shoe Covers” is a unique, universal shoe and shoe cover system that overcomes the problems of similar shoe covers. This invention allows the ability to alter the front top and side appearance of the shoes with different style covers without changing shoes. Other shoe cover inventions use snaps or Velcro mounted around the sole of the shoes that cause the cover to become loose or disconnected. Other shoe cover inventions require the cover to be installed in order to wear the shoes. Other shoe cover inventions cover the complete shoe for clean room or surgical purposes.

[0005] With this invention, the covers are completely independent of the actual shoe integrity. The shoe covers are for cosmetic changes to the top front and side portion only while providing the flexibility to adjust to multiple size shoes. The adjustable shoe covers contain both the hook and loop and do not require hook and loop to be installed on the shoes like other inventions.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] This “Shoes with Interchangeable Shoe Covers” invention provides the flexibility to change the appearance or texture of the front portion of the shoes in a simple, fast and secure manner. The shoe covers attach to shoe loops that are sewn into the outsole of the shoes allowing the wearer to change the top and side appearance of a pair of shoes to different colors, shapes, prints, designs, textures or styles. The shoe covers provide a fast and inexpensive way to match the shoes to a varied wardrobe in a matter of seconds. The shoe covers are equipped with elastic and Velcro (hook & loop) straps buckle straps as the method for connecting the shoe covers to the shoes. This strap method allows the cover to fit multiple shoes offering a one size fits all in the product line. The shoes are constructed with shoe loops at predetermined specifications to ensure that the covers can be used on different size shoes by simply loosening or tightening the straps. The straps on the covers have elastic incorporated in them thus eliminating the problem of becoming loose or disconnected. This also helps give the flexibility to adjust for different size shoes. The shoe covers are for cosmetic purposes only (front top and sides only) and are not required while wearing the shoes.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0015] Starting with FIG. 1 page 1/8, showing the Clog or Loafer type “Shoes with Interchangeable Shoe Covers” in its completed or finished state with the shoe cover attached to the upper 14. The sole of the shoe 10 has a total of four shoe loops 12 (two on each side) sewn into it that act as anchors for the shoe cover 11. The shoe cover has hook & loop straps, outer side shown 13 that are fed through the shoe loops 12 and are secured to the shoe upper 14.

[0016] FIG. 2 page 2/8 is the top view of the Four Strap Hook & Loop Shoe Cover. The shoe cover 11 has a left rear loop connecting section 20, left rear elastic tension retainer 21, left rear hook connecting section 22, center tension retainer 23, right rear hook connecting section 24, right rear elastic tension retainer 25, right rear loop connecting section 26, left front loop connecting section 27, left front elastic tension retainer 28, left front hook connecting section 29, right front hook connecting section 30, right font elastic tension retainer 31 and right front loop connecting section 32. The shoe cover 11 is constructed so that it will lay neatly and smoothly on top of the shoe upper. The materials used in the cover 11, straps 20, 26, 27 and 32 are thin enough to allow the cover to fit the shoe securely. The cover 11 is constructed of material that is durable and flexible. The shoe cover straps 20, 26, 27 and 32 are also constructed with material that is durable and flexible that incorporates Velcro lining that is sewn on one side of the straps.

[0017] FIG. 3 page 3/8 is a view of the right side shoe. The shoe loops 12 are sewn into the right side shoe sole 10. The left side is duplicated the same as the right. There is a total of four shoe loops per shoe. The shoe loops 12 are constructed of a durable material (nylon/leather) that is incorporated into the shoe sole 10 by heavy grade thread that secures both the shoe upper 14 and the shoe loops 12 to the shoe sole 10. The shoe may be worn without a shoe cover installed (as shown in FIG. 2) if desired.

[0018] FIG. 4 page 4/8 is a view of the shoe cover 11 prior to being placed over the shoe upper 14. The right side shoe cover straps 26 and 32 will feed through the right side shoe loops 12 during the installation. The left side shoe cover straps 20 and 27 will feed through the left side shoe loops on the left side of the shoe (not shown). The shoe loops 12 are also duplicated on the left side of the shoe to accept the left side shoe cover straps 20 and 27 of the cover.

[0019] FIG. 5 page 5/8 is a view of the shoe cover 11 being placed onto the shoe upper 14 and the shoe cover straps 26 and 32 being fed through the shoe loops 12. This view shows only the right side of the shoe. The left side is duplicated the same as the right side.

[0020] FIG. 6 page 6/8 shows the shoe cover 11 placed on the shoe upper 14 and all four shoe cover straps (loop portion left and right) 20, 27, 26 and 32 are fed through the four shoe loops 12 (right loops shown only) and pulled tight. The shoe cover straps 20, 27, 26 and 32 are now ready to be folded over to the adjoining (hook portion) 22, 29, 24 and 30 of the shoe cover straps. Once all four straps are folded over and joined, the hook and loop will not be seen as shown in FIG. 1 page 1/8.

[0021] FIG. 7 page 7/8 is a view of the two strap hook & loop shoe cover 70. The straps components 20, 21, 22, 24, 25 and 26 are constructed the same as FIG. 2. The shoe cover 70 uses only one set of shoe loops (one left and one right) on the shoe. The rear section of the cover is equipped with an elastic center tension retainer 23.

Claims

1. What I claim as my invention is interchangeable shoe covers for Clog and Loafer type shoes that consist of four shoe loops incorporated into each shoe sole that act as the connecting anchors so that the adjustable two and four strap shoe cover can be installed by feeding the straps through the shoe loops for securing the one size fits all covers for multiple shoe sizes in the product line and where the hook and loop straps are fully contained in the shoe covers and do not require hook and loop connections to be installed on the shoe allowing quick and easy installation, removal and compatibility with different shoe sizes, for cosmetic purposes only while partially covering the shoe uppers offering different shapes, colors, designs and textured appearances and also two and four strap adjustable shoe covers that consist of a buckle connecting mean for securing the cover to the shoes with shoe loops.
