Trash apron and method of use

A trash apron comprises a bag portion and two sashes or tie portions. The bag is pleated so that its volume can be expanded from its packaged size. The sashes are secured to each other to hold the apron around the persons waist. The bag pleats are expanded to increase the volume of the opening and the bag portion. Trash can be collected in the bag portion.

[0001] The present invention relates to cleaning accessories and more Particularly to trash apron with expanding pleats that is constructed from disposable, pliable trash bag material and that includes a deeply pleated trash storage area structure having pleated sides that is positioned adjacent to a pair of waist sashes that allow a user to secure the apron in place around his or her waist while filling a voluminous waist cavity formed by the expanded pleated sides.

BACKGROUND ART

[0002] It is often difficult for individuals to drag a trash bag around with one hand While attempting to pick up trash with the other. It would be desirable, therefore, to have a trash apron device constructed from durable trash bag material that included a large trash receiving cavity and which further included sash straps securable about the waist of the user for securing the trash apron to the user in a manner such that both hands are free.

[0003] It is thus an object of the invention to provide a trash apron constructed from disposable, pliable trash bag material that includes a deeply pleated trash storage area structure having pleated sides that is positioned adjacent to a pair of waist sashes that allow a user to secure the apron in place around his or her waist while filling a voluminous waist cavity formed by the expanded pleated sides.

EXEMPLARY MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION

[0009] FIGS. 1-3 show various aspects of an exemplary embodiment of the trash apron with expanding pleats of the present invention generally designated 10. Trash apron with expanding pleats 10 includes constructed from disposable, pliable trash bag material and that includes a deeply pleated trash storage area structure, generally designated 12, having pleated 14, 16 that is positioned adjacent to a pair of waist sashes 18, 20 that allow a user to secure the apron 10 in place around his or her waist while filling a voluminous waist cavity 24 formed by the expanded pleated sides 14,16.

Claims

1. A method of collecting trash comprising the following steps,

picking up a trash apron, the trash apron having two sashes and a bag portion, the apron being made of flexible plastic, the bag portion being pleated and having and opening extending substantially from one sash to the other sash.
placing the sashes around a persons waist and securing the sashes to each other to hold the apron in place on the person.
expanding the pleats to increase the volume of the opening and the bag portions, and
collecting trash in the bag portion.
