Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

[0001] The present invention relates to a tool box that has a receiving portion in the tool box and tools may be inserted into the receiving portion from outside of the tool box when not in use.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] A conventional tool box is shown in FIG. 1 and generally includes a base 10 and cover 15 which is pivotally connected to a side of the base 10. Each of the base 10 and the cover 15 have a handle 11/16 connected thereto and a locking piece 17 is connected to the cover 15 so that when the cover 15 is mounted onto the base 10, the locking piece 17 may snap to a piece (not shown) on the base 10 to secure the cover 15. A plurality of recesses 12 are defined in an inside of the base 10 so as to receive tools in the recesses 12. A recess 18 is defined in an inside of the cover 15 and a transparent board 19 are engaged with the recess 18 so that the tools in the tool box can be seen via the transparent board 19. While in use of the tool box, tools are taken from the tool box and put on the ground randomly. This is because the users do not want to open and close the cover 15 every time when picking a tool from the tool box. The tools on the ground roll away or mixed with other objects and difficult to find when needed.

[0003] The present invention intends to provide a tool box that has a receiving protrusion with holes and the tools can be inserted into the holes from outside of the tool box while not in use.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0004] In accordance with one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a tool box which comprises a base having a plurality of recesses defined in an inside thereof and a cover pivotably connected to a side of the base. A receiving portion is located in the tool box and has a plurality of holes defined in a surface thereof which is accessible from outside of the tool box.

[0005] The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0012] Referring to FIGS. 2 to 5, the tool box of (the present invention comprises a base 2 having a plurality of recesses 21 defined in an inside 20 thereof so that tools 4 can be engaged with the recesses 21. Two pivotable members 24 are located on a first side of the base 2 so as to be connected with two pivotable members 30 of a cover 3. The cover 3 includes a transparent board and a magnifying mirror 33 is engaged with the transparent board. A pressing member 32 is located at an inside of the cover 3 and the pressing member 32 is able to press the tools 4 in the recesses 21 so that the tools 4 will not shake when the tool box is carried. The base 2 has an engaging member 25 on a second side thereof and the cover 3 has a locking piece 31 which is disengageabely connected to the engaging member 25.

[0013] A receiving portion 22 located in the tool box and extends from the inside 20 of the base 2. A plurality of holes 23 are defined in a surface of the receiving portion 22 and the holes 23 are accessible from outside of the tool box. The cover 3 has an opening 34 defined through the transparent board so that the tools 4 can be inserted in the holes 23 via the opening 34.

[0014] FIG. 6 shows another embodiment of the present invention wherein the receiving portion 35 extends from an inside of the cover 2 and holes 36 defined in the receiving portion 22 and through the cover 3, so that the tools 4 can be inserted in the holes 36. It is to be noted that the way that the tools 4 are positioned to the receiving portion can be any known method such as snapping, and the material of the receiving portion can be made by soft material so that the tools may penetrate into the receiving portion.

[0015] While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
