Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] This product is designed for the Furniture and Home Bedding Industry. The futon bed is a very versatile and useful concept in that it allows for a piece of furniture to be used as a bed or couch when the back is perpendicularly inverted. Futon owners prior to this invention had no way of dealing with the spatial gap adjoining multiple mattresses. These gaps proved problematic in that they were uncomfortable and unsafe for children. Some manufacturers are using larger single mattresses, but fold lines are created along the bend line thus reducing the effectiveness of the mattress. The nature of the Conley Mattress Connection Pad is to resolve these issues by allowing a Connection Pad to adjoin multiple mattresses seamlessly. The Conley Mattress Connection Pad design allows for a Futon bed to be as comfortable as any other bed or sofa.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0002] The Conley Mattress Connection Pad is uniquely designed to join together multiple mattresses for the purpose of creating the appearance, comfort and feel of a single continuous uniformed mattress. It has applications in the Futon Sofa industry whereby it is common to have to two separate twin size mattresses. One serving as a seat cushion while the other serves as a backrest. When the Futon is reclined into the bed position, the gap between the two mattresses often leads to discomfort and potential safety issues for young children. By simply attaching the Conley Mattress Connection Pad via the attached zippers, it removes the gap and provides adequate padding for comfort. The current concept of a futon mattress is very much in demand within the industry. This is because you have a mattress or a bed system that can be used as a sofa or converted to a bed upon demand. The draw back with the existing technology is that futons mattresses have a certain feeling of sleep and sitting discomfort. Consumers can easily detect whether they were sitting or lying on a standard futon mattresses versus one created by the Conley Mattress Connection Pad. With the Conley Mattress Connection Pad, they could not tell if they were on a futon bed or a regular bed. Based upon the same principal, they couldn't distinguished if they were on a futon sofa or regular sofa if the futon bed were inverted into sofa form utilizing the Conley Mattress Connection Pad. The Conley Mattress Connection Pad is a system of connecting two mattresses. The mattress composition from the manufacturer does not have any adverse effect on the Conley Mattress Connection Pad. This allows manufactures to continue to produce their mattresses with material they deem most appropriate for comfort, feel and look. The Conley Mattress Connection Pad allows for the perpendicular or inverted bend that single spring or rubber mattresses cannot adequately perform. The Conley Mattress Connection Pad makes the connection of two mattresses possible.
