Art button fastener

Abstract

A button fastener of plastic material, which can be quickly, attach onto clothing and material. The button fastener has a pointed, ribbed and/or toothed, free-end strap leading downward from the underside of the fastener. The point of the strap is inserted into and drawn through pants, clothing or material and the strap is then inserted through an opening in bottom of the fastener leading to a passageway through the fastener. Situated above the opening in the fastener is a flap, which is folded in onto the body of the fastener. The flap has full detail art icons and emblems molded into the outward side of the flap. An angled lip on the inside of the flap is bent out of position and is inserted into an underside indent in the fastener, locking the flap onto the fastener body and securing the position of the strap within the passageway. An alternative embodiment of a button fastener is designed with a pointed, ribbed strap that is inserted through a passageway within the shank of a button fastener. The shank contains a locking cache within the passageway that is sized to the ribbed strap and prevents the withdrawal of an inserted ribbed strap from. The shank button fastener can have art icons molded onto the face of the button from a side molding technique.

Description

[0001] A button fastener of plastic material, which can be attach onto clothing and material. The button fastener has a pointed, toothed, free-end strap leading downward from the underside of the fastener. A short, jab-point of the toothed and/or ribbed strap is inserted into and drawn through pants, clothing or material and the strap is then inserted into an underside opening in the fastener, the opening leading to a passageway through the fastener. The size and width of the attaching strap is smaller than the pointed head of the strap. Approx. 2.5 MM

[0002] Situated above and before the said opening in the fastener, is a flap which has an inward pointing lip. The flap that is folded in onto the body of the fastener and the lip is bent out of position and inserted into an indent in the bottom side of the fastener. The flap has full detail art icons and emblems molded into and onto the outward side of the flap.

[0003] The center of the inward side of the flap has an extended-insert that is shaped to fit into the open top of a passageway through the fastener. When the said flap is folded in onto the body of the fastener, holding teeth on the extended-insert, inter-locks with the inserted strap and/or the said extended insert pushes and holds the strap against two toothed caches located at the beginning and at the end of a passageway through the fastener. The button fastener has been attached.

[0005] The art icon flap rests upward from the body of the fastener and is molded with a backward angle of lean. The backward angle of the flap sets what angle the inward pointed lip on the inside of the flap will be molded at. Consequentially, when molding a fastener, the said lean of the flap produces an “angled edge” within the molded art on the flap of the fastener. The “molding edge” is re-angled is re-angled and the art icons on the buttons have fat lines of definition.

[0006] An art button fastener can be quickly attached onto clothing for the fashion on the art icon button, for the replacement of a missing button or for manufacturers. A button fastener can be attached onto an object by wrapping the strap around the object before inserting the ribbed strap into the fastener for closure. With inventive sewing and utilization, two or three button fastener can substitute in the replacement of a zipper. The button fastener is sized for ornamentation and fashion. The button fasteners can be used within manufacture of clothes.

A SHANK BUTTON, AN ALTERNATIVE EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION

[0007] An alternative button fastener is titled a “shank button”. The said fastener has an entrance and an exit through the shank of a fastener. The passageway through the shank is sized to a pointed, ribbed strap leading off from the bottom side. A strap in the shank fastener has the same thickness as the head of the said strap. There are one or two locking caches on the wall or the floor of the said passageway. When the strap is inserted through the passageway, the cache(s) bend(s) back from the pressure of entry, and edged indents in the strap receive the extension(s) of the cache, preventing withdrawal of the strap from the passageway. The strap can be ribbed or side toothed.

[0008] The button head of the shank button fastener is solid. The button head can be molded with side-molded, art icons. Side molded art icons have a variable of possible designs; a cross, a six-pointed star or a twelve-pointed sun. If a face were molded onto a sun or star, the center of the mold would be raised in a dome shape and the said dome shape would have the peripheral, facial designs.

[0009] The shank button fastener is strong. The body of a shank button can be molded with a full detail art flap, which is folded in onto a flat body of a shank fastener, the art flap has an inward pointing lip and the body of the fastener having an indent in the underside of the fastener.

A TWO PIECE BUTTON FASTENER

[0012] A two-piece button fastener comprises of an attachable, art icon flap having an inward pointing lip that has on the underside of a flap, a C-shape hook or a hinge that receives a C-shaped hook or hooks. Within attachment of the two separate parts of a button fastener, the C-shape on either one of the two separate pieces, is/are slipped under a hinge of the other piece and the flap is folded in onto the body of the fastener and the inward pointing lip of the art icon flap is bend out of position and inserted into an indent in the bottom side of a fastener.

SUMMARY

[0044] The art icon button fastener is an improved embodiment over the button mending kit patent. A 2.5 MM wide, pointed head of a ribbed or toothed attaching strap can easily jab-pierce through a pair of jeans or cotton pants. A pointed head of button fastener strap starts with a fat shape and quickly ends in a fine point. The enlarged, pointed head of the strap will eventual penetrate most material.

[0045] The improved embodiment of the button fastener has an art icon flap. Folding in the said art icon flap pushes an extended insert on the inside of the flap into a passageway where an inserted attaching strap has been placed. An angled edges on the extended-insert, engages the strap and/or the extended insert pushes the strap against one or two locking caches in the passageway through the fastener. The extended insert directly or indirectly engaged with the attaching strap.

[0046] The backward lean of the art flap provides the molding angle for an inward pointing lip located on the inside of the flap. The outward side of the flap faces into the fill detail mould of a molding machine. A one-piece fastener is molded with full detailed button art and emblems.

Claims

1) A button fastener of plastic material, which is composed of one-piece of plastic and has a pointed, ribbed or toothed, free-end strap leading off from the underside of the fastener;

a bottom opening to a fastener that is sized to an large, pointed head of the said strap:

a passageway through a fastener that is sized to the said ribbed or toothed attaching strap:

a flap with an inward, angled lip on the inside of the flap;

a flap containing full detailed art that is molded into and onto the outward face of the flap:

a flap that has a backward angle of lean, to allow for the molding of the said inward angled lip on the inside of the flap:

an extended-insert on the center, inside of a flap that is sized to fit into a passageway through the fastener;

a toothed-edge located at the beginning and/or at the end of a passageway through the fastener;

angled holding teeth located on the said extended insert of a flap

an underside indent in the fastener that is sized to receive an inward angled lip.

2) A button fastener of plastic material which is composed of one-piece of plastic and wherein a shank on the bottom of a fastener has a passageway through the shank, with an opening and an exit sized to a pointed, ribbed or toothed, free-end strap that leads off from the bottom-side of the said shank and in which an inserted, ribbed and/or toothed strap is prevented from withdrawal from the passageway by one or more locking cache(s) located within the said passageway.

3) A button fastener as depicted in claim 2, which has “side-molded art” molded into and onto the surface face of a shank button fastener.

4) A button fastener of plastic material, which is composed of an art icon flap having an inward pointing lip and a fastener body of a shank style button;

the said fastener having a shank with a passageway through the shank that is sized for a ribbed or toothed strap;

a pointed, ribbed or toothed free end strap that leads from the underside of a fastener;

a locking cache located within the said passageway that is sized to a ribbed or toothed attaching strap;

an art icon flap that bends in onto the body of a fastener;

an inward pointing lip on the inside of a flap;

an indent within the bottom side of a button fastener

5) A button fastener as depicted in claims 4, composed of an art icon flap, an inward pointing lip and a hinge or a C-shaped hook wherein a separate fastener body has an indent in the underside of the fastener and either a hinge or a C-shaped hook.

6) A button fastener as depicted in claims 2, which is used for a sewing function

7) A button fastener as depicted in claims 1, wherein the face of a button fastener is not ornamented with an art symbol.

8) A button fastener as depicted within claims 2 & 3, wherein a pointed, toothed strap is inserted through a passageway within a fastener head, the fastener having locking caches located on the walls within the said passageway.
