Magic broom vacuum

A portable cordless unit includes an interchangeable broom and an intake collector which draws in dirt and the air—having passed through filters—can be blown out of the machine outside the room through a long hose. A switching circuit causes fan operation in the event a room needs vacuum in addition to a broom.

BACKGROUND—FIELD OF INVENTION

[0002] The present patent relates to a portable cordless broom vacuum. The present patent comes under the sector of single-unit vacuum cleaners which are autonomous, namely contain all the operating components within a single volume, and, during operation, emit less dust and other allergy causing substances.

BACKGROUND—DESCRIPTION OF PRIOR ART

[0003] Vacuum cleaners historically worked by means of a suction fan which creates a partial vacuum within the machine. Outside air, which always tries to fill a vacuum, flows rapidly into the cleaner, drawing in dust. A cloth or paper bag, or other container, traps the dirt, and the cleaned air is blown out of the machine.

[0004] There are historically two kinds of portable vacuum cleaners: (1) canisters, or tanks, and (2) uprights. In a canister model, a powerful suction fan pulls dirt into the bag through a hose to which a variety of nozzles can be attached. An upright model has a small fan and an agitator in its base. The agitator is a rotating cylinder with bristles that loosen dirt,. Waste is sucked into a bag attached to the machine's handles.

SUMMARY

[0005] Said objects are fully achieved by the easily used portable cordless broom vacuum with its separate and interchangeable broom and vacuum, according to the invention, as described by the contents of the claims indicated below.

OBJECTS AND ADVANTAGES

[0006] Accordingly, several objects and advantages of the present invention are:

[0007] a. Portability;

[0008] b. Broom and vacuum combination;

[0009] c. Reduced allergies;

[0010] d. Broom enhances dirt removal capabilities;

[0011] e. Ease of use without electric cords;

[0012] f. Elastic cover with broom increases dust removal; and

[0013] g. Extra hose allows air to be blown out of room reducing room alergies.

DESCRIPTION

[0044] As required, detailed illustrative embodiments of the invention are disclosed herein. The embodiments exemplify the invention and are currently considered to be the best embodiments for such purposes. However, it is to be recognized that the units may be constructed in various other forms different from that disclosed. Accordingly, the specific structural details disclosed are representative and provide a basis for the claims which define the scope of the present invention.

[0045] As above indicated, the Magic Broom Vacuum is one in which outside air flows either into the portable vacuum cleaner or, alternatively, through the broom into the vacuum cleaner, drawing in dirt. Two filters trap the dirt, and the air is blown outside the room through an extra hose.

ADVANTAGES

[0046] Because the Magic Broom Vacuum is a portable cordless broom vacuum, electric cords are not required.

[0047] Having the broom in addition to the suction fan has the effect of increasing the efficiency of the Magic Broom Vacuum in contrast to historical vacuum cleaners which worked only by means of a suction fan.

[0048] Having the elastic cover coupled with the broom increases dust removal beyond that which would normally be achieved with current generation vacuum cleaners.

[0049] The air which can be blown out of the room by the extra hose decreases room allergies in contrast to current vacuum cleaners whose emitted air remains within the room.

[0050] The Magic Broom Vacuum may be used with the fan suction only, or may have the broom therewith to allow for increased dirt removal capabilities.

[0051] According to one aspect of the present invention, portability is provided beyond the reach of conventional cord driven vacuum cleaners.

[0052] Having the extra hose and the elastic cover has the effect of increasing the efficiency of the Magic Broom Vacuum in reducing allergies.

OPERATION

[0053] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 3, there are illustrated various air flow paths which can be utilized by the present embodiment. The unit includes two back straps (I) by which the unit is mounted on the user's person. The unit is activated by the on/off switch (J) whereby the red (K) and green (L) indicators demonstrate whether the charger connection (M) is required for the batteries. Charged batteries causes the vacuum collector (D) to draw air into the unit (O) where the air passes the filter (H) before exiting the unit (N) to a hose (R) allowing the air to pass out of the room.

[0054] If it is preferred to use the broom for particularly dirty environments, one of three brushes—(A), (B), or (C) can then be activated whereupon the elastic cover (F) covers any resulting dust which is drawn into the vacuum.

CONCLUSION, RAMIFICATIONS, AND SCOPE

[0055] The Magic Broom Vacuum can be used as a portable and cordless system to use in the place of existing canister or upright vacuum cleaners.

[0056] Although the description above contains many specificities, these should not be construed as limiting the scope of the invention but as merely providing illustrations of some of the presently preferred embodiments of this invention.

[0057] Thus the scope of the inventions should be determined by appended claims and their legal equivalents.

Claims

1. a housing forming an internal air path extending from an inlet to an outlet;

an intake collector for inducing an air flow through said air path from said inlet to said outlet;
