Golf club shaft with a spherical top end termination

A golf club shaft improvement by adding a smooth spherical shaped knob to the top end of the shaft, to serve as a pivot bearing when the club is swung in pendulum fashion, by firmly pressing the top end of the shaft against the belly, or other areas of the body, The spherical knob nests against the body functioning as a perfect pivot bearing as the golfer uses two hands, lower on the club shaft, to actuate a smooth accurate pendulum swing, that is much safer and more comfortable and pushing the rough flat top end of a conventional golf club into the areas of the body to perform a pendulum swing.

Description
SPECIFICATION

[0001] In the present invention a golf club shaft and grip have the top end of the shaft permanently terminated with a smooth spherical shaped knob, said knob provides an ideal smooth pivot bearing when the knob is pressed firmly against the belly, chest, chin, under the arm or other body parts, as the club is swung in pendulum fashion, creating a much smoother, accurate, safer and more comfortable swing, than when a golfer presses the rough top end of a club against his body and swings in it in a pendulum fashion.

TECHNICAL FIELD

[0002] The present invention relates generally to longer shaft golf putters, they are generally used by firmly pressing the top end of the shaft into the belly, to pivot, as they swing the club as a pendulum. My invention transforms the rough top of the shaft into a smooth pivot bearing providing a safer smoother more accurate swing. The invention also works on other golf clubs such as wedges and chippers and could possibly improve other golf clubs

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0003] In playing golf every golfer knows that the short game “approaching the green and putting” is a large part of the game. They are always looking for ways to improve this part of their game. Longer shafted pendulum type golf clubs are becoming more popular and are working for some golfers but the top end of the shaft and grip are flat and rough and do not make a good pivot bearing. My invention of a smooth spherical shaped knob at the top end of the club converts it into an ideal pivot bearing that improves the pendulum swing as well as making it safer and more comfortable.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0004] In the present invention a smooth spherical shaped knob is permanently fastened to the top end of a conventional golf shaft. This knob converts the rough flat top end of the shaft into an ideal pivot bearing, to use the club the knob is firmly nested against the body as the club is swung in pendulum fashion. When using this invention the golfer has the option of using both hands on the lower part of the club pressing the knob into the belly and swinging the club pendulum fashion in a very smooth accurate manner.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING

[0005] FIG. 1 No-1 is a view of putter golf club with a smooth spherical shape knob permanently mounted on the top end of the shaft.

[0006] No-2 are golf club hand grips [2 pieces]

[0007] No-3 is a smooth spherical shaped knob terminating the top end of the club

[0008] While the present invention has been described with reference to the preferred embodiment, it will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that the invention may be practiced otherwise than as specifically described herein without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. It is, therefore, to be understood that the spirit and scope of invention be limited only by the claims.

Claims

1. What I claim as my invention is a smooth spherical shaped knob permanently terminating the top end of a golf club shaft and hand grip, said knob would be fabricated or molded from any viable material and be of a size and shape that would blend smoothly into the top of the shaft hand grip, providing a safe, comfortable pivot bearing, so that when the golfer presses the top of the club firmly against his body he can use two hands on the lower hand grip and swing the club in a comfortable accurate pendulum fashion.

2. A golf club shaft hand grip with the top end molded or fabricated into a smooth spherical shaped knob termination blending smoothly into the top of the shaft hand grip.

3. A parts kit containing a smooth spherical shaped knob to convert the top end of an existing golf club and hand grip to a smooth pivot bearing.
