[0016] FIG. 1 is a top plan view of the game board of a new trivia drag racing board game according to the present invention.

[0017] FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the dice of the present invention.

[0018] FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the game pieces of the present invention.

[0019] FIG. 4 is front & back elevational views of the cards of the present invention.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

[0020] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new trivia drag racing board game embodying the principles and concepts of the present invention and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

[0021] As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 4, the trivia drag racing board game 10 generally comprises a game board 11 having a topside and also having two rows 12,13 being disposed side-by-side and being conventionally imprinted upon the topside thereof and simulating drag racing lanes with each of the rows 12,13 being divided into game-piece start sections 14, game-piece finish sections 16, and game-piece movement sections 15. Each of the game-piece finish sections 16 and game-piece movement sections 15 are imprinted with selected category initials 17 representing a respective category. The game board 11 also includes simulated bleachers 18,19 being conventionally displayed to and along sides of the rows 12,13.

[0022] Dice include a game die 20, a category die 21, and an order-of-play die 22. The category die 21 is a cube having multiple sides with each of the multiple sides having a selected category initial imprinted thereupon to represent a particular category. The order-of-play die 22 is also a cube having multiple sides with each of the multiple sides having a selected time displayed in seconds imprinted thereupon.

[0023] Cards 23 have the category initials 24 being conventionally displayed upon a side thereof and corresponding to the category initials 17 displayed on the game board 11, and also having drag racing questions 25 and answers 26 being conventionally displayed upon the side thereof. Each question 25 and answer 26 corresponds to a respective category initial 24 on the cards 23.

[0024] Game pieces 27,31 include movement pieces 27 for moving upon the sections 14-16 of the rows 12,13 on the game board 11. Each of the movement pieces 27 includes a support having a base portion 28 and a stem portion 29, and also includes a flag 30 being securely attached to the stem portion 29. The game pieces 27,31 also include a simulated trophy cup 31. The cards 23 further have a number representing how many game-piece movement sections 15 for a user to move one's movement piece 27 backwards upon the user answering the question 25 incorrectly.

[0025] In use, the order-of-play die 22 is rolled by the players to determine the order of play. The player rolling the lowest score on the order-of-play die 22 then rolls the category die 21 to determine the category in which the game is to be played. The selected player then rolls the game die 20, and moves one's movement piece 27 forwardly a number of the movement sections 15 upon the game board 11 equal to a score shown face up on the game die 20. The selected player then selects a card 23 and answers the question 25 corresponding to the category initial 17 being displayed on the movement section 15 where the movement piece 27 is disposed. If the selected player answers the question 25 correctly, the selected player repeats the steps of rolling the game die 20 and moving one's movement piece 27 and selecting a card 23 and answering the question 24. If the selected player answers the question 25 incorrectly, the selected player moves one's movement piece 27 backwardly a number of movement sections 15 being displayed on the card 23 and another player repeats the steps of rolling the game die 20 and moving one's movement piece 27 and selects a card 23 and answers the question 25. The steps of rolling the game die 20 and moving one's the movement piece 27 and selecting a card 23 and answering the question 25 until one of the players has moved one's movement piece 27 onto the game piece finish sections 16.

[0026] As to a further discussion of the manner of usage and operation of the present invention, the same should be apparent from the above description. Accordingly, no further discussion relating to the manner of usage and operation will be provided.

[0027] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.

[0028] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the trivia drag racing board game. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.
