Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0001] 1. Field of the Invention

[0002] The present invention is relating to a basketball having decorated grooved partition rib which formed by heat transformation. Furthermore, the present invention also provides a method of producing such basketball.

[0003] 2. Description of Related Art

[0004] Normally, there are two different kind of basketball, namely, the molded basketball and the laminated basketball. Refer to FIG. 1, Usually, the structure of laminated basketball comprising an inflatable inner tube A; a thread layer B wound around the outer wall of said inner tube A; a carcass C adhered to the outer wall of said thread layer B, said carcass having longitudinally grooved partition rib D raised from the surface of said carcass C; then panels of cover E adhered to the surface which other than said partition rib D. However, the air nozzle is mounted in the inner tube A during the fabrication and the partition ribs D are appearing with panels of cover E.

[0005] As to the molded rubber basketball, after thread layer, place the rubber pieces around the surface of thread layer and leave the gap between rubber pieces as the partition rib. Then, treating be high pressure and temperature to vulcanize the rubber piece to form the outer surface of basketball. If necessary, painting the partition ribs with pigment to make the different color with outer surface of basketball.

[0006] However, up to now, grooved partition ribs of basketball are mono-color which normally in black by painting. As to the traditional product, conventional monotony partition ribs seems can be further decorated by colorful configuration for more attractive in eye appeal as well as more durable in color maintain.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0007] The main purpose of the present invention is to provide a basketball with colorful decorative configuration on the surface of partition ribs. The configuration can be trademark, figure, letter, number as well as any design can be placed on the surface of partition ribs.

[0008] The secondary purpose of the present invention is to provide a more durable configuration of partition ribs, by the way to solve the problem of color fading.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

[0009] The present invention can be more fully understood by reference to the following detailed description and accompanying drawings, in which:

[0010] FIG. 1 is the sectional view of the conventional basketball;

[0011] FIG. 2 is the sectional view of the basketball of the present invention; and

[0012] FIG. 3 is the configuration of one of the embodiment of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0013] Referring to FIG. 2, the present invention providing a configuration printed by hear-transfer to the surface on partition ribs.

[0014] The basketball according to the present invention comprises an inner tube 1, a thread layer 2, a carcass 3, and cover 4.

[0015] Similar to the conventional basketball, the inner tube 1 also provides an air nozzle to allow the air inlet or outlet. The thread layer 2 wound around the outer surface of inner tube 1 while the carcass 3 adhered to said thread layer 2 and spaced plurality of grooved partition ribs 31. The feature of the present invention is providing a configuration layer 32 on the surface of said partition ribs. The configuration layer 32 contains the configuration can be the logo, mark, words, stripe, number, as well as figure. Furthermore, the configuration can be composed by either mono color or the combination of at least two colors.

[0016] Cover 4 surrounds the surface other than the partition ribs 3 and the material can be PU, PVC, artificial leather or real leather to become a laminated basketball. Meanwhile, if cover 4 is made by rubber material, then, after cured, the basketball is the molded rubber basketball.

[0017] The configuration layer 32 of the present invention can be made by heat-transfer process. Before vulcanize process, the pre-printed heat transfer paper contains the configuration thereon had been attached on the surface of partition ribs 31. During vulcanize process, the configuration will be combined and appeared on the surface of partition ribs. Then, remove the base substrate of heat transfer and the configuration is on the surface of partition ribs 31.

[0018] Therefore, by the versatile designs of configuration, the basketball will be more colorful and more easier in identify. Meanwhile, due to the configuration of the present invention is treated by heat transfer process, the color of configuration is more durable and long lasting. In result, it improves the color fading problem of conventional basketball.

[0019] The embodiment disclosed is for the purpose of illustration and any various modify which derived from the inventive concept of the present invention is still with the scope of the protection.
