Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates generally to air pumps, and more particularly, to an air pump which keeps pumping the air outwards.

2. Description of the Related Art

There are two kinds of conventional industrial air pumps for pumping the air wards and further generating airstream. One is so-called air compressor, which pumps the air by a constantly reciprocating cylinder, accumulates the pressured air in a pressure tank and releases the pressured air from the pressure tank when it is required. However, the air compressor is structurally complex, high in product cost, difficult for repair, and noisy when it is operated. The other is the common blower, which keeps pumping the air in airways outwards by the strong thrust of a high-speed rotating impeller. Although the impeller is designed by a special angle to generate a predetermined wind pressure, the blower requires a powerful motor as an output power source, which needs high production cost and high technology and is thereby commercially uncompetitive.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary objective of the present invention is to provide an improved air pump which is low in production cost, structurally simple, easy to be assembled, and outputs high-pressure airstream.

The foregoing objective of the present invention is attained by the improved air pump which is composed of a shell, a rotor, and a lid. The shell includes a round chamber inside, an inlet and an outlet both running therethrough for communicating outside, and an axial hole positioned in the round chamber and having a different center from that of the round chamber. The rotor is disposed inside the round chamber, and includes a rotation shaft at the center thereof for inserting into the axial hole of the round chamber, three bevel slots recessed inwards from an outer periphery thereof, and three movable blades respectively mounted inside the three bevel slots and respectively moving frictionally along long axles of the bevel slots. The lid is coved on the shell to seal the round chamber.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to FIGS. 1-3, an air pump constructed according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention is composed of a shell 10, a rotor 20, and a lid 30.

The shell 10 includes a round chamber 11 inside, an inlet 12 and an outlet 13 both positioned at an inner periphery thereof and running through the shell 10 to outside, and a silencing filter 14 mounted at an outward end of the inlet 12 for filtering dust in the air and reducing noise generated while the air flows into the inlet 12. The round chamber 11 is provided with an axial hole 15 inside, which center is different from that of the round chamber 11. The distance between the outlet 13 and the axial hole 15 is smaller than that between the inlet 12 and the axial hole 15, and is also smaller than the radius of the round chamber 11.

The rotor 20 is received in the round chamber 11 and includes a rotation shaft 21, a plurality of bevel slots 22, and a plurality of movable blades 23. The rotation shaft 21 protrudes outwards from the center of the rotor 20 and is inserted into the axial hole 15 of the round chamber 11 for connecting an external power source which drives the rotor 20 to rotate. In the present embodiment, there are three bevel slots 22 recessed towards inside from an outer periphery of the rotor 20, and there are three movable blades 231, 232, and 233 disposed respectively in the three bevel slots 22. Each of the three bevel slots 22 has a long axle crossed with a tangential of the outer periphery of the rotor 20 at a predetermined angle (0) which is an acute angle along a direction that the rotor 20 is rotated. Each of the three movable blades 231, 232, and 233 is a long plate member and capable of moving outwards or inwards along the long axle of the bevel slot 22, such that the blades 23 will be centrifugally outthrowed while the rotor 20 is rotated and each have an outward end to engage against and move frictionally along the inner periphery of the round chamber 11.

The lid 30 is covered on the shell 10 to seal the round chamber 11, enabling the round chamber 11 to communicate with outside merely via the inlet 12 and the outlet 13.

Referring to FIG. 3, when the air pump of the present invention is operated, the blade 231 moves from a position A to a position B, i.e. the blade 231 passes by the outlet 13 and moves to a position approaching the inlet 12. In the meantime, a space (a) defined among the rotor 20, the blade 231, and the round chamber 11 is confined and has no other passages in communication with outside except the inlet 12 and the outlet 13 to be very low-pressure closely to be vacuum.

Referring to FIG. 4, while the blade 231 moves and passes by the inlet 12, the low-pressure space (a) will not stop sucking a great amount of the outside air thereinto via the inlet 12 unless the blade 232 moves and passes by the inlet 12, such that the space (a) is full of the air, as shown in FIG. 5. Then, while the blade 232 keeps moving forwards along with the rotor 20, the space (a) keeps decreasing to enable the inside air to be increasingly compressed and thereby high-pressure, as shown in FIG. 6.

While the blade 231 passes by the outlet 13, the high-pressure air inside the space (a) jets towards the outlet 13, as shown in FIG. 3. Hence, the air jetted out of the outlet 13 of the present invention is pressured airstream but not merely regular airstream generated by that a regular impeller pushes the air outwards. In conclusion, the present invention is lower in production cost, structurally simpler, easier to be assembled, and outputs more high-pressure airstream than the prior art.
