The present invention relates to a device (1) for production of flat metal. The device (1) includes at least two rolls (2, 3) extending essentially parallel to each other, their axes of rotation (4) lying in a plane (5) more or less perpendicular to the direction of gravity (7).

Description

The present invention relates to a device for production of flat metal.

It relates also to a device for rolling flat metal, according to the generic clause of Claim 1.

Also, it relates to a device for heat treatment of flat metal, according to the generic clause of Claim 8.

Further, it relates to a device for winding flat metal in strip form, according to the generic clause of Claim 12.

Also, it relates to a process for production of flat metal by rolling, according to the generic clause of Claim 14.

Further, it relates to a process for heat treatment of flat metal, according to the generic clause of Claim 18.

Finally, it relates to a process for winding flat metal in strip form, according to the generic clause of Claim 21.

SUBJECT OF THE INVENTION

The subject of Claims 1, 8 and 12 represents a device for production of flat metal. By the rolling device, the metal is rolled flat to an adjusted thickness, then the flat metal is subjected to current and voltage in the device for heat treatment. This makes possible the attainment of an exactly defined strength class for the flat metal. Then the heat-treated flat metal strip is wound on a reel, by corresponding displacement and rotation of the reel.

The term “flat metal” here refers in particular to strips of metal sheet and metal film, in particular to rolls of wound material. Especially a thickness range from 20 to 400 μ is relevant.

Claims 14, 18 and 21 define the process of production according to the invention, and Claims 1, 8 and 12 the corresponding means of production. Other advantageous embodiments are to be found in the subsidiary claims.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

FIG. 1 shows the device for production of flat metal, with its three units: rolling (1), heat treatment (13) and winding (16).

Flat metal (10) here refers in particular to strips of sheet metal and metal film, in particular material wound in rolls. Here a thickness range from 20 to 400 μ is particularly relevant.

The flat metal (10) is rolled in the rolling device (1) by at least two parallel rolls (2, 3) arranged parallel to each other, to the adjusted thickness. The axes of rotation (4) of the rolls lie in a plane; the rolls themselves are arranged horizontally.

The setting and adjustment of the desired thickness is accomplished by precision thread drives (8) with exact guidance (8).

These precision thread drives (8) ensure a setting in the 100th mm range.

The cooling liquid in the trough (20) under the rolls, optionally in combination with emulsion, ensures that the rolls (2, 3) can be kept continually at constant temperature, so that no heat expansion occurs that would adversely affect the precision of the rolling operation.

One of the rolls (2) is adjustable by means of the above precision feed (8), the other roll (3) has a fixed bearing seat.

The rolls (2, 3) of the pair must always both be driven.

The flat metal (10) is fed in (11) and taken out (12) free from tensile stress.

After rolling, the flat metal passes by way of two rolls (12, 14) configured with electrically conductive surface.

The flat metal (10) is subjected to current and voltage by means of these.

By this application of current and voltage, the flat metal (10) is heated and its strength altered.

The quantity of current is regulated as a function of the system's speed so that the flat metal (10) receives a constant strength corresponding to the desired strength class.

After the heat treatment, the flat metal is wound on a reel (17).

The axis of rotation (18) of the reel is more or less perpendicular to the direction of entry of the flat metal.

By a roller ring drive (19), the reel is run to and fro along its axis of rotation to ensure placement of the flat metal on the reel.

22. A device for producing flat metal comprising at least two rolls extending essentially parallel to each other, their axes of rotation lying in a plane substantially perpendicular to the direction of gravity, at least one of the rolls being axially adjustable such that a distance between the rolls can be controlled, and wherein at least two of the rolls are subject to a drive torque.

23. A device according to claim 22, wherein the distance between the rolls is adjustable by translation of one of the rolls by precision feed.

24. A device according to claim 22 wherein at least two rolls are subject to a drive torque independently of torque transfer between the rolls by way of their surfaces.

25. A device according to claim 22 comprising a transport mechanism for feeding the flat metal through the device.

26. A device according to claim 25, wherein the transport mechanism comprises a feed roller which feeds the flat metal between the rolls free from tensile stresses.

27. A device according to claim 25, wherein the transport mechanism comprises a transport roller which removes the flat metal from between the rolls free from tensile stresses.

28. A device according to claim 22 comprising at least two contact elements adapted to supply an electric current through the flat metal strip after it exists the rolls, and a regulator to regulate the quantity of current fed into the flat metal strip.

29. A device according to claim 28, wherein the contact elements each comprise rolls with electrically conductive surfaces which are rotatably mounted about their lengthwise axis.

30. A device according to claim 29, wherein the quantity of current flowing through the flat metal is regulated as a function of the transport velocity of the flat metal.

31. A device according to claim 22 comprising a reel on which the flat metal can be wound after exiting the rolls, an axis of rotation of the reel being substantially perpendicular to the direction of entry of the flat metal, the reel being mounted such that it is movable along its axis of rotation.

32. A device according to claim 28 comprising a reel on which the flat metal can be wound after exiting the rolls, an axis of rotation of the reel being substantially perpendicular to the direction of entry of the flat metal, the reel being mounted such that it is movable along its axis of rotation.

33. A device according to claim 29 comprising a reel on which the flat metal can be wound after exiting the rolls, an axis of rotation of the reel being substantially perpendicular to the direction of entry of the flat metal, the reel being mounted such that it is movable along its axis of rotation.

34. A device for heat treating flat metal during a rolling process comprising at least two contact elements adapted to supply an electric current through the flat metal strip, and a regulator to regulate the quantity of current fed into the flat metal strip.

35. A device according to claim 34, wherein the contact elements each comprise rolls with electrically conductive surfaces which are rotatably mounted about their lengthwise axis.

36. A device according to claim 34, wherein the quantity of current flowing through the flat metal is regulated as a function of the transport velocity of the flat metal.

37. A device for winding rolled flat strip metal comprising a reel on which the flat metal can be wound, an axis of rotation of the reel being substantially perpendicular to the direction of entry of the flat metal, the reel being mounted such that it is movable along its axis of rotation.

38. A device according to claim 37, comprising a traveling mechanism for displacing the reel to and fro during winding along its axis of rotation to distribute the wound flat metal uniformly over a winding width of the reel.
