The invention is mainly to provide a portable media-accessing device, which includes a body, an upper lid, and at least one pivotal part. The body has a hollow casing having an opening side communicating to a first accommodation space; the first opening side may provide a memory module to be placed into the first accommodation space; the upper lid has a hollow casing having a second opening side communicating to a second accommodation space; the pivotal part may make the body connected to the upper lid such that, by taking the pivotal part as an axial center, a rotation motion with an appropriate angle between the upper lid and the body is possible.

Description
1. FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The invention relates to a protection casing apparatus for portable media-accessing device, and in particular, to a portable media-accessing device that may prevent its memory module from external damage or dust pollution during its idle or using period.

2. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

In one hundred years of human history, all aspects of human living, for example, housing, transportation, clothing, and foods, have astonishing progresses, because of the prominent achievement of many technological inventions. In the early times of industrial revolution, since lots of machines to replace human labors have successively developed, for example, textile machinery and steam engine, etc., so people possess the capability to greatly improve each commercial product, and plenty products with specific quality are produced within certain times, such that the consuming habits of people are gradually changed. The birth of each transportation tools make people be more convenient in travel, relocation, and business activity and also make the cargo and the resources be interchanged in more fast way, so the idea of earth village and substantial variation are thereby generated.

After the industrial revolution, the invention of computer in the middle of 20th century brought human world with a deep and far influence. From vacuum-tube computer, transistor computer to today's IC computer, people may apply fast computer to manage gigantic and complicate data processing and computation, which may also be executed under high accuracy and reliability by the processing manner of a multiplier. Database management, flow-path control, business simulation, trend prediction, and even literature creation, etc. all can be executed by means of the fast summarization and data management of a computer, so computer is like a catalyst that accelerates the marching speed of our living.

Soon after the invention of computer, the birth of Internet doubtlessly brings the so-called “Third Wave Revolution” to human society. People may make their PC jointed to communication web by the node connecting manners, such as: dialing-in telephone, ISDN, ADSL, mobile communication, or mobile modem, etc. From LAN (Local Area Network) to Internet, people may access to any corner of the world by just being on web. The Internet, initialized from military usage, has thoroughly changed the communicating ways between people and has accelerated the interchange of information and data. From electronic mail, network bookstore, on-line cinema, web order, and electronic exchange & market, etc., they are all created because of the birth of Internet. The influence of Internet is far and deep, it exists in each corner of our daily living and brings people entering the so-called “Knowledge Economic Times”.

In this “Knowledge Economic Times”, which is different from old times when lands, materials, and financials are regarded as production capital, human sources and the data carried by ourselves have become the most important resource in modern enterprise's activities. The people who can accurately control detailed information can make faster judgment and strategy in advance. Nowadays, the requirement for instant information access has become a necessity, “Mobile Office” is no more just an expectation and is realizing right now. Therefore, the portable storage device or even the portable disc has become the indispensability in realizing the idea of “Mobile Office”.

According to the prior arts, the counter design of portable media-accessing device according to prior arts may be divided into two parts: the body and the lid. Since the body is separated from the lid, so a user is easy to lose the lid to further pollute the transferring interface of the portable media-accessing device and to further influence the stability of data transfer. Furthermore, when the casing structure, of the portable media-accessing device, connected tightly to the he inside memory unit, is damaged by external force to be unable to protect the safety of stored data, the damage of the portable media-accessing device will become more serious. This shortcoming is an urgent problem to be solved by current industry and, if it is solved, then the competition ability of relative industry will be thereby enhanced.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The main objective of the invention is to provide a portable media-accessing device, which is independently arranged at outer edge of the memory module to prevent the portable media-accessing device from external damage and dust harassment during its idle or using time, such that the opportunity for losing data stored in the portable media-accessing device may be reduced and the function for prolonging the using life of portable media-accessing device may be increased.

The secondary objective of the invention is to provide a portable media-accessing device, wherein a protection casing connected integrally is designed, such that the function for preventing data from losing due to carelessness may be reached.

To reach aforementioned objectives, the invention is to provide a portable media-accessing device, which is mainly includes a body, an upper lid, and at least one pivotal part.

The body has a hollow casing having an opening side communicating to a first accommodation space; the first opening side may provide a memory module to be placed into the first accommodation space.

The upper lid has a hollow casing having a second opening side communicating to a second accommodation space.

The pivotal part may make the body connected to the upper lid such that, by taking the pivotal part as an axial center, a rotation motion with an appropriate angle between the upper lid and the body is possible.

Following drawings are cooperated to describe the detailed structure and its connective relationship according to the invention for facilitating your esteemed members of reviewing committee in understanding the characteristics and the objectives of the invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The main characteristic of the invention is to provide a portable media-accessing device, wherein a body and an upper lid are connected by a pivotal part, so an accommodation space is provided for placing a memory module, and a protection casing device is thereby independently formed to be added upon the portable media-accessing device and, since the upper lid may be opened and closed with respect to the body due to the connection of pivotal part, so it may prevent the upper lid from losing because of human carelessness.

Several preferable embodiments will be presented hereinafter for describing the detailed means, action manners, fulfilled functions, and other technical characteristics, etc., of the portable media-accessing device and the using method thereof according to the invention.

Please refer to FIG. 1A and FIG. 1B, which are explosive illustrations for a preferable embodiment for the portable media-accessing device according to the invention. The invention is to provide a memory module 9 connected to a computer mainframe (not shown in the figures), such that the computer mainframe may access data from the memory module 9, which may be multi-media electronic device that is convenient for user to carry, such as: portable disc, MP3, wireless module device, etc. The memory module 9 further has a universal series bus (abbreviated as USB) connector 91 connected to the computer mainframe, such that the data of the memory module 9 may be provided to the computer mainframe through the USB 91. Since the contour and the structure of said memory module 9 are belonged to the prior arts, so their details are not described herein repetitiously. The portable media-accessing device 1 according to the invention includes a body 2, an upper lid 3, and at least one pivotal part 4. The body 2 is a hollow casing having a first accommodation space 23 and may be made of polymer and manufactured by injecting formation or be made of metal and manufactured by casting method. Two sides of the body 2 respectively have a first opening side 21 and a first closing side 22. The body 2 is communicated to the first accommodation space 23 by the first opening side 21 such that, when the first opening side 21 provides the memory module 9 to be placed into the first accommodation space 23, the first closing side 22 provides a contacting abutment against the bottom of the memory module 9. Since the length of the memory module 9 is longer than that of the body 2 so, when the memory module 9 is placed into the body 2, the USB connector 91 will be projected out the first opening side 21.

The upper lid 3 is a hollow casing having a second accommodation space 33 and may be made of polymer and manufactured by injecting formation or be made of metal and manufactured by casting method. Two sides of the upper lid 3 respectively have a first opening side 31 and a second closing side 32. The upper lid 3 is communicated to the second accommodation space 33 by the second opening side 31. The second accommodation space 33 may be provided for placing in the USB connector 91. The second closing side 32 may be provided for closing the second accommodation space when the USB connector 91 is placed in. Since the contour of the outer edge of the upper lid 3 is corresponding to that of the body 2, so it has a closing effectiveness when the upper lid 3 is connected to the body 2, such that it may prevent the USB connector 91 from external damage or dust pollution.

The pivotal part 4 is connected to the body 2 and the upper lid 3. The pivotal part 4 includes; at least one first pivotal ring 41, at least one second pivotal ring 42, and a pivoting axis 43. The first pivotal ring 41 is a hollow component having a hole 411, is connected to the body 2, and is projected out the first opening side 21. When the body 2 is made of polymer and manufactured by injecting formation, the first pivotal ring 41 is also same as the body 2, that is, made of plastic and manufactured integrally by injecting formation. Of course, when the body 2 is made of metallic materials and manufactured by casting method, the first pivotal ring 41 and the body 2 are integrally made by metallic casting method. The first pivotal ring 41 may also be connected to the body 2 by welding manner. The second pivotal ring 42 is a hollow component having a hole 421, is connected to the upper lid 3, and is projected out the second opening side 31. When the upper lid 3 is made of polymer and manufactured by injection formation, the second pivotal ring 42 is also made of plastic material and manufactured integrally with the upper lid 3 by injecting manner. Of course, when the upper lid 3 is made of metallic materials and manufactured by casting manner, the second pivotal ring 42 and the upper lid 3 will be integrally made by metallic casting formation, but they may be also connected by welding method. The pivoting axis 42 is a column structure that may pass through the holes 411, 421, such that the first pivotal ring 41 is connected to the second pivotal ring 42. In the preferable embodiments according to the invention, the pivotal part 4 is arranged at the central part between the first opening side 21 and the second opening side 31. Of course, it is also possible to arrange one pivotal part 4 or more at each two sides. The design number of the first pivotal ring 41 is two, and the two first pivotal rings 41 are arranged respectively at two sides of the second pivotal ring. Of course, the second pivotal ring 42 may be designed as two and arranged respectively at two sides of the first pivotal ring 41 as well. Such kinds of number variation may be executed by those who are skilled in such arts according to aforementioned description, but they are still within the merits of the invention and are not departed from the spirits and fields of the invention, so detailed description is not presented herein repetitiously. Hereby, the upper lid 3 may make a rotation motion of an appropriate angle with respect to the body 2 by taking the pivotal part 4 as axial center to provide the USB connector 91 to pass through the second opening side 31 and be placed into the second accommodation space 33.

Please refer to FIG. 2A and FIG. 2B which are two illustrations for the 3-D structure of another preferable embodiment for the portable media-accessing device according to the invention. In this preferable embodiment, since most elements are same or similar to those of aforementioned embodiment, so same element will be directly designated with same name or same referential number, but similar element will be given the same name, and an English character will be appended to the original referential number for distinguishing purpose, and its detailed function will not be described again. Two sides of the pivoting axis 43a are respectively arranged a buckling ring structure having a projecting column 431. There is an appropriate distance s spaced between two projecting columns 431. From one side, one of the projecting columns 431 is first passed through the holes 411, 421, and another projecting column 431 is then buckled into the holes 411, 421 by the elastic force of the pivoting axis 43a itself.

The portable media-accessing device according to the invention may indeed reach the manner of being independently arranged to the outer edge of the body of the portable media-accessing device to prevent the portable media-accessing device from external damage and dust harassment during its idle or using time. Thereby, the portable media-accessing device may reduce the opportunity of losing data and prolong its using life. So, the invention may really overcome the shortcomings of the prior arts, satisfy the industrial needs, and enhance their competition abilities.

However, the aforementioned description is just several preferable embodiments according to the invention and, of course, can not limit the executive range of the invention, so any equivalent variation and modification made according to the claims claimed by the invention are all still belonged to the field covered by the patent of the present invention. Claims

1. A portable media-accessing device, comprising:

a body, which has a hollow casing having an opening side communicating to a first accommodation space, and the first opening side provide a memory module to be placed into the first accommodation space;
an upper lid, which has a hollow casing having a second opening side communicating to a second accommodation space; and
at least one pivotal part, which make the body connected to the upper lid such that, by taking the pivotal part as an axial center, a rotation motion with an appropriate angle between the upper lid and the body is possible.

2. The portable media-accessing device according to claim 1, wherein the body further has a first closing side corresponding to the first opening side and, when the memory module is placed into the first accommodation space, it may provide a contacting abutment against the first closing side.

3. The portable media-accessing device according to claim 1, wherein the memory module accommodated in the first accommodation space by a draw-able manner.

4. The portable media-accessing device according to claim 1, wherein the contour of the outer edge of the upper lid is corresponding to that of the body.

5. The portable media-accessing device according to claim 1, wherein the pivotal part is further comprised of the follows:

at least one first pivotal ring, which is a hollow component having a hole, and which is connected to the body and is projected out the first opening side;
at least one second pivotal ring, which is a hollow component having a hole, and which is connected to the upper lid and is projected out the second opening side; and
a pivoting axis, which pass through said two holes to make the first pivotal ring connected to the second pivotal ring.

6. The portable media-accessing device according to claim 5, wherein the first pivotal ring and the body are integrally made by plastic injecting formation.

7. The portable media-accessing device according claim 5, wherein the first pivotal ring and the body are integrally made by metallic casting formation.

8. The portable media-accessing device according to claim 5, wherein the first pivotal ring and the body are connected together by welding method.

9. The portable media-accessing device according to claim 5, wherein the second pivotal ring and the upper lid are integrally made by plastic injecting formation.

10. The portable media-accessing device according claim 5, wherein the second pivotal ring and the upper lid are integrally made by metallic casting formation.

11. The portable media-accessing device according to claim 5, wherein the second pivotal ring and the upper lid are connected together by welding method.

12. The portable media-accessing device according to claim 5, wherein the pivoting axis is a pillar-shaped structure.

13. The portable media-accessing device according to claim 5, wherein two sides of the pivoting axis are respectively arranged a buckling ring structure having a projecting column, and there is an appropriate distance spaced between two columns.
