FLOATING ROTATABLE FOUNTAIN DECORATION

A floating rotatable fountain decoration having a basin, an agitator, a water pump, and an ornament wherein the water pump is employed to suck water within the basin for creating a circulating flow of water that passes through the agitator to impart rotational motion to its blades, thereby producing an eddy that brings the ornament floating on the surface of water within the basin in rotation. Meanwhile, the flow of water passing through the agitator is finally spouted out through nozzles upwardly to the ornament, thereby creating a fountain effect. Moreover, the fountain spouted to the ornament flows back to the basin, thereby producing a dynamic visual effect. Accordingly, three effects of floating rotation, fountain and flow of water can be combined in a body by simple mechanical means.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The invention relates to a floating rotatable fountain decoration, and more particularly, to a decoration employing a pump to create a circulating stream of water wherein a fountain can be spouted onto an ornament. Meanwhile, the ornament is floatable on the surface of water within a basin and rotatable on an inner tube.

2. Description of the Related Art

Most of conventional interior decorations are situated in a static state for beautifying rooms and creating an appealing visual effect. In order to improve the monotone feature in their design, a decoration with locally dynamic effect has been developed to increase its attraction.

As shown in FIG. 1, a current type decoration includes a basin 11 over a base 10. An elaborate ornament 12 is disposed on the basin 11 for enjoying the sight of the ornament 12. Meanwhile, a water outlet 13 is provided in the ornament 12 and a pump (not shown) is installed within the base 10 to suck water from the basin 11 and to discharge it through the water outlet 13. Accordingly, the water can return to the basin 11 for forming a circulating flow of water. In this way, the room with this decoration is full of natural atmosphere. However, only the flow of water is dynamic while the ornament is stationary. Thus, the whole visual effect is more or less restricted.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

It is a primary object of the invention to eliminate the aforementioned drawbacks and to provide a floating rotatable fountain decoration having a basin, an agitator, a water pump, and an ornament wherein the water pump is employed to suck water within the basin for creating a circulating flow of water that passes through the agitator to impart rotational motion to its blades, thereby producing an eddy that brings the ornament floating on the surface of water within the basin in rotation.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

First of all, referring to FIGS. 2 and 3, a floating rotatable fountain ornament in accordance with the invention includes a basin 20 and an ornament 30.

The basin 20 is used for containing water 22. A plurality of support bases 21 is provided at the bottom thereof.

The ornament 30 is provided at the top of the basin 20. The ornament 30 includes a plurality of nozzles 34 for creating a fountain 35.

As shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, a water pump 40 is provided at the bottom of the basin 20. A suction pipe 41 is extended from the basin 20 to the water pump 40 while a discharge pipe 42 is extended from the water pump 40. The water sucked through the suction pipe 41 is discharged to the discharge pipe 42. The discharge pipe 42 has a stopper 43 at the rear end thereof for driving the flow of water to pass through a first pipe 44 to a agitator 50. The agitator 50 includes a set of agitating blades 51 disposed on the internal surface of the basin 20. A rotating shaft 52 of the agitating blades 51 is movable with a set of driving blades 53 within a case 54 having a water inlet 55 and a water outlet 56.

Accordingly, the flow of water issues through the first pipe 44 into the water inlet 55 of the case 54 so as to rotating the driving blades 53, thereby imparting rotational motion to the rotating shaft 52 that brings the agitating blades 51 on the surface of the basin 20 in rotation (see FIG. 6).

As shown in FIG. 5, the flow of water passes through the water inlet 55 into the case 54 and issues through the water outlet 56 out of the case 54. Then, the flow of water passes through a second pipe 45 to the position above the stopper 43 of the discharge pipe 42. At last, a jet of water is spouted out of an upright extension pipe 46.

Again, referring to FIG. 4, the bottom of the ornament 30 is provided with a float 31 that rests on the surface of the basin 20. The float 31 includes an inner tube 32 that is insertable into and rotatable in the upright extension pipe 46 of the discharge pipe 42. The inner tube 32 movable with the float 31 is extended thereinto. A plurality of branch pipes 33 is radially extended from the inner tube 32. The nozzles 34 of the branch pipes 33 rise above the float 31 and are inclined in the direction to the surface of the ornament 30.

Finally, referring to FIG. 7, the ornament 30 floats within the basin 20. Meanwhile, the inner tube 32 is inserted in the upright extension pipe 46 of the discharge pipe 42. In this way, the water 22 within the basin 20 is sucked through the suction pipe 41 and driven out of the discharge pipe 42 when the water pump 40 is activated. By use of flow of water force, the stopper 43 is employed to change the direction of the flow of water, that is, the flow of water passes through the first pipe 44 into the case 54. So, the driving blades 53 of the agitator 50 are rotated by the flow of water to impart motion to the agitating blades 51, thereby creating an eddy within the basin 20. Accordingly, the ornament 30 together with the float 31 is floatingly rotatable on the inner tube 32. Thereafter, the flow of water within the case 54 is driven out of the case 54 and passes through the second pipe 45 to the upright extension pipe 46. Then, it flows through the inner tube 32 upwardly to the branch pipes 33, thereby spouting fountain 35 up through the respective nozzles 34. The water of the fountain 35 spouted onto the ornament 30 flows downwardly back to the basin 20 by the gravity to allow an circulating reuse.

Based on the above-mentioned configuration, the ornament of the invention creates a dynamic visual and a floating rotatable effect only by utilizing a water pump 40, thereby beautifying the appearance of the ornament.

Many changes and modifications in the above-described embodiment of the invention can, of course, be carried out without departing from the scope thereof. Accordingly, to promote the progress in science and the useful arts, the invention is disclosed and is intended to be limited only by the scope of the appended claim.
