Sealing cap

A sealing cap includes radial wave-like stripes on an upper surface, a pull hole and an extended-out rod projections formed on one side, a brim formed on the other side of the pull hole and ridges formed on an inner surface of the annular circumferential vertical wall. The thickness of the stripes gradually becomes thinner from the outer circumference to the center. In using, a user holds the pull hole with fingers inserted therein, and with the other hand pulling the brim down to seal the sealing cap on a container. Then the moist and taste of the food stored in the container can be prevented from dispersing out. In addition, the sealing cap cannot be broken in handling process of sealing by means of the elasticity produced by the structure of the stripes with its thinness gradually becoming thinner from the outer circumference to the center.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

This invention relates to a sealing cap, particularly to one provided with radial wave-like stripes formed on an upper surface of the cap body, a pull hole and an extended-out rod projection formed on one side of the sealing cap, and a brim on the other side. The sealing cap further has a plurality of ridges on an inner surface of the annular circumferential vertical wall, and the thickness of the stripes gradually becomes thinner to the center. In handling for using the sealing cap, a user holds the pull hole with fingers, places the cap on a container, with one hand pulling the brim down to seal the upper opening of a container, preventing the moist or taste of the food stored in the container from dispersing out. In addition, the sealing cap has expansibility for stretching during handling process for sealing to save manual force needed in the handling, and protecting the sealing cap from easily broken.

2. Description of the Prior Art

In order to keep food from deteriorating in the quality by soaking moist or by air, food is generally refrigerated or kept cool, or sealed in a container, separating the food from air or moist and also preventing it from smeared by small insects such as ants, cockroaches, flies, mosquitoes, etc. or from losing its taste and smell. But this method of food preserving can easily let food lose moist and its taste. Especially, in case of liquor, fruit juices, soda pops, or refreshments stored in bottles, they will deteriorate or lose taste quite easily after kept for a while in case of not totally drunk up. Moreover, when paints containing solvents, glue, wax, or other industrial materials sealed in bottles or cans are only half used, the rest of them are hard to store, with solvents extremely easily volatilize, solidity or deteriorate.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

This invention has been devised to offer a sealing cap having excellent effect for sealing a container storing food so as to prevent the food in the container from deteriorating to lose good taste and smell.

The feature of the invention is a plurality of wave-like stripes formed on the upper surface of the sealing cap, and a pull hole and an extended-out rod projection formed in one side of the cap, a brim on the other side of the pull hole, and a plurality of ridges formed on an inner surface of the annular circumferential vertical wall, with the thickness of the stripes gradually becoming thinner from the outer circumference to the center.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a sealing cap in the present invention;

FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view of the sealing cap in the present invention;

FIG. 3 is a perspective view of a first process of using the sealing cap in the present invention;

FIG. 4 is a perspective view of a second process of using the sealing cap in the present invention;

FIG. 5 is a perspective view of a third process of using the sealing cap in the present invention; and,

FIG. 6 is a perspective view of a fourth process of using the sealing cap in the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

A preferred embodiment of a sealing cap 1 in the present invention, as shown in FIGS. 1-4, is made of high polymer elastomer, including a cap body 1A, a plurality of radial wave-like stripes 10 formed on an upper surface of the cap body 1A, a pull hole 11 formed in one side of the sealing cap 1, and an extended-out rod portion 110 extending out of the pull hole 11, a brim 12 formed at the other side of the pull hole 11, a plurality of ridges 13 formed on an inner surface of the annular circumferential wall. Then the thickness of the outer circumference 14 is thicker than that of the center 15 and gradually becoming thinner and thinner from the outer circumference 14 to the center 15, with the wave-like stripes 10 become gradually smaller from the outer circumference 14 to the center 15.

In using the sealing cap 1, referring to FIGS. 1, 3 and 4, a user inserts fingers in the pull hole 11, places the container body 1A of the sealing cap 1 on a container 2 for paint, tea, sugar, condiments, dry fruits, or a microwave container, and holds the brim 12 with the other hand and pushes the sealing cap 1 down to seal the upper opening of the container 2. Thus, the taste and smell of the food stored in the container 2 cannot disperse out of the container 2, and the sealing cap 1 cannot be broken because of the outer circumference 14 of the cap body 1A is thicker than that of the center portion. Moreover, the elasticity of the sealing cap 1 enables its handling easy with less manual force.

Next, the sealing cap 1 can be used for preserving cool food, as shown in FIG. 5, by sealing the sealing cap 1 on a salad bowl 3 after vegetables and fruits (A1) are put in a salad bowl 3, with ice cubes (A2) put on the upper surface of the sealing cap 1, and with another sealing cap 1 sealed on the first sealing cap 1 sealed on the salad bowl 3. So the low temperature of the ice cubes may gradually be transmitted down in the food in the container 2 to keep cool the food therein, and the ice water may not flow into the container, blocked by the first sealing cap 1.

Further, the sealing cap 1 can be used for sealing a microwave container 4, as shown in FIG. 6, by sealing the sealing cap 1 on a microwave container 4, with the extended-out rod portion 110 bent to be laid on the inner surface and sandwiched between the upper edge of the container 4 and lower surface of the sealing cap 1. Then there is formed a gap between the upper edge of the microwave container 4 and the sealing cap 1, releasing hot air inflated by heat from the sealing cap 1.

The sealing cap according to the invention have the following advantages, as can be understood from the aforesaid description.

1. It can effectively prevent the moist and taste of the food stored in a container from dispersing out.

2. The structure of the radial wave-like stripes on the upper surface of the sealing cap can prevent it from broken during handling it for sealing a container, because the thickness of the stripes on the outer circumference is thicker than the center and gradually becoming thinner to the center, producing some elasticity to the sealing cap.

3. It can preserve the original taste of liquor, soda pops, fruit juices or other refreshments stored in a container.

4. It can be used for sealing a container stored with chemicals, having characteristics of acid-resistance, alkali-resistance, and high elasticity, possible to prevent them from volatilizing or deteriorating so that the not-used portion can be kept for later use, without need of discarding freely to cause environmental pollution.

While the preferred embodiment of the invention has been described above, it will be recognized and understood that various modifications may be made therein and the appended claims are intended to cover all such modifications that may fall within the spirit and scope of the invention.
