Shower shield

Abstract

Our invention uses current products in a new and unique way. We propose using NASCAR technology in the home, specifically using resized and redesigned windshield tear off sheets to cover shower doors to prevent the build up of soap scum or other shower residue. It is a labor saving technique, eliminating the requirement to periodically clean the shower door. Instead at the end of the month, or as necessary, the top “Shower Shield” is simply pulled off and thrown away.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

After many years of frustration at having to accomplish the difficult task of cleaning soap scum and other product residue off of shower doors, I decided to develop a product that would eliminate the need for cleaning. Inspiration came to me while watching a NASCAR race. During that race I observed the pit crews were no longer washing the windshield during pit stops, but rather pulled off a NASCAR “tear sheet.” It occurred to me this same technology could be used to eliminate the need to clean shower doors. When the “SHOWER SHELD” gets dirty, simply tear off the top sheet, leaving a clean “SHOWER SHIELD” in place.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Removable “SHOWER SHIELD” tear sheets are affixed to the interior of shower doors to prevent the need to clean soap scum and other product residue off of shower doors. When the “SHOWER SHELD” becomes soiled more than the consumer desires, they can simply rip off the top sheet.

The “SHOWER SHIELDS” will be made of lexan or other similar plastic material designed and cut to fit the various sized shower doors, covering the entire “glass” door surface.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

“SHOWER SHELDS” are composed of lexan or other similar plastic material. This material is clear (though translucent as well as custom designed products will be available) and water resistant. Currently it is not intended to be treated with any soap scum resistant product, though that possibility will be considered for later versions. The original specifications call for a pad of 12 tear off sheets to be installed during the manufacturing process for shower doors. This quantity of tear off sheets is intended to last one full year, with a tear off sheet being removed at the end of each month.

After the initial factory installed tear off sheets are depleted they can be replaced with a version of the product intended for after market consumption.

I do not intend to manufacture “SHOWER SHELDS” but rather to contract with other product manufacturers for their production. This patent is to protect the idea for the “SHOWER SHELD” not a manufacturing process.

1. We claim as our invention the use of lexan or similar plastic material tear off sheets (in pads of 12 or more) to be affixed over the interior of shower doors to protect the glass (plastic) shower door from getting covered with soap scum or other shower residue.
