Swimming pool roofing

An element of swimming pool roofing which can be moved on rails (1) has a pane (2) which is curved in an arc shape. On the two curved edges (5) of the pane (2), only on the outer side or the inner side, frame elements (6) are attached, the frame elements (6) being attached via connecting parts (7, 24) at a distance from the pane (2).

Description

The invention relates to an element of swimming pool roofing which can be moved on rails with a pane and with at least one frame element which is connected to the pane, and swimming pool roofing with these elements.

A host of types of swimming pool roofing are known which consist of parts which can be moved telescopically into one another, the panes of these individual elements being either curved or flat. To stabilize these panes they are bordered on their edges completely by profile frames since the panes, whether of glass or plastic, do not have sufficient stability and therefore cannot be made self-supporting.

The profile frames therefore increase the stability of the elements, but on the other hand disrupt the optical impression of the swimming pool roofing to a considerable degree.

Therefore the object of the invention is to make available an element of swimming pool roofing and swimming pool roofing which is produced from these elements, in which the disruptive impression of the frame elements is less.

This object is achieved with an element with the features of claim 1, and with swimming pool roofing with the features of claim 15.

In the invention, frame elements which completely border the pane are abandoned entirely. Instead, there is a frame element which, lying parallel outside or inside the pane, imparts the necessary stability to it. The invention is used preferably in panes which are curved in an arc shape, since panes which are curved in an arc shape transversely to their lengthwise extension require additional stabilization, conversely they are relatively stable in the lengthwise direction through the curved cross section. By the construction measure that the frame element is located parallel to the pane this frame element can also be made less solid, since the mechanical bond between the pane and the frame element arranged parallel to it has very high flexural stiffness.

Overall therefore an element of swimming pool roofing can be devised which is sufficient with simply a single or two frame elements which follow the arc-shaped contour of the pane. Ideally, in the area of each edge there is a frame element by which overall very high stability of the element of the swimming pool roofing can be created.

Within the framework of the invention it would be possible to place the frame element directly on the pane and for example to cement or screw it securely there. Within the framework of the invention it is certainly preferred that the frame element is located at a distance from the pane, and in this case it can be further provided that the frame element is connected to the pane via connecting elements.

This embodiment of the invention entails two advantages. Because the frame element has a distance from the pane, the flexural stiffness of this mechanical bond is further increased. The other advantage lies on the aesthetic side since the element acquires a “lighter” optical impression by the raised frame element.

The connecting parts can preferably be inserted into the pane through holes. Alternatively connecting parts can also be used which are attached on the edge of the pane and are mounted there, by which drilling through the pane can be avoided.

In order to be able to mount front walls on the edge elements of the swimming pool roofing, it is preferred in the invention if the connecting parts on the inside of the element have a bent section for connection to the front wall.

The connecting parts which are provided anyway in the preferred embodiment of the invention can thus be used at the same time also for attachment of the front walls.

As already mentioned, it is not necessary to stabilize the edges which extend lengthwise or parallel to the rails by frame sections. Therefore it can be provided within the framework of the invention that on the lengthwise edges of the pane which face the rails two or more supports for rollers are mounted directly on the pane.

These supports in another preferred embodiment of the invention can have two mounting plates in the shape of circular segments, which plates adjoin on either side of the pane and which are screwed to one another. This yields simple and stable attachment of the supports to the panes.

To prevent individual elements or the entire swimming pool roofing from being lifted in a high wind, it can be furthermore provided that on the mounting plate which is located on the inside of the pane there is a hook which extends behind a projection on the rail.

Depending on whether the element of the swimming pool roofing is an edge element or not, it can either be provided that on each curved edge of the pane there is a frame element and that the two frame elements are mounted on the outer side of the pane, or that the frame element on one edge is attached to the inside and on the other edge to the outside of the pane. Preferably one element, specifically the outermost edge element into which the other elements are inserted, has two frame elements which are located externally on the curved edges of the pane. For the other elements which are inserted into this edge element there are ideally on one curved edge a frame element on the outside and on the other curved edge a frame element on the inside so that the frame elements are not mutually disruptive or do not abut one another when the elements are slipped into one another.

Other features and advantages of the invention arise from the following description of one embodiment of the invention with reference to the drawings.

FIG. 1 shows an element as claimed in the invention of swimming pool roofing which can be moved on rails 1. The element has a pane which is curved in an arc shape, and which in the area of its lengthwise edges 3 can be moved with supports 4 for rollers on the rails 1. In order to statically stabilize the pane 2, in the area of the edges 5 which are curved in an arc shape, frame elements 6 are attached. As FIG. 1 shows best, the frame elements 6 do not adjoin the pane 2, but are connected to the pane 2 while maintaining a constant distance using connecting parts 7 which are detailed in FIG. 9.

The connecting part 7 from FIG. 9 consists of a top part 8 and a bottom part 9 and is made essentially rod-shaped. Between the top part 8 and the bottom part 9 there are two mounting washers 10 and 11 between which the pane 2 is held. In the pane 2 in the area of the edges 5, holes must be made through which the bolt 12 which is located between the mounting washers 10 and 11 is inserted. On the end of the top part 8 there is a pin 13 which is inserted into a corresponding hole in the frame element 2 and is attached there.

The bottom part 9 thus extends into the interior under the pane 2 and on its end has a bent section 13 with two mounting washers 14 and 15, between which in turn a bolt 16 extends. Between the mounting washers 14 and 15 a front wall 17 can be attached which can be mounted on the element as claimed in the invention. Using the connecting part 7 shown in FIG. 9, therefore both one frame element 2 and also one front wall 17 are joined to the pane 2 which is curved in an arc shape.

In the area of the lower edge 18 of the front wall 17, there can be a swivelling seal 19, as is fundamentally already known from the utility model AT U 3663. The swivelling seal 19 in this invention has a pane which extends over the entire width of the front wall 17 and which can be attached to the front wall 17 with hinges 20. The hinge 20 which is detailed in FIG. 8 consists of two strap hinges 21 and 22, the strap hinge 21 being attached to the front wall 17 and the strap hinge 22 to the seal 19. The two strap hinges 21 and 22 are connected via a hinge 23 which can be made for example as described in AT U 3663 and therefore is not detailed.

Swimming pool roofing which can be moved on rails consists generally of several elements which can be moved telescopically into one another. In FIGS. 1 to 4 a so-called edge element is shown which for elements which are pushed telescopically into one another is the largest and outermost element. For this reason, in the element shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 the two frame elements 6 are also mounted externally on the edges 5.

The behavior is certainly different for the other elements which are pushed into the illustrated element. Here it would be troublesome if the two frame elements 6 were attached externally to the pane 2. For this reason, for the other elements which are not shown in the drawings a frame element is mounted on the inside of the pane 2. In order to attach these frame elements within the pane 2, connecting parts 24 are used, as one is shown in FIG. 10. The connecting part 24 corresponds essentially to the top part 8 of the connecting part 7 from FIG. 9, i.e. it has a sleeve 25 to which a mounting washer 10 is attached. Opposite the mounting washer 10 there is again a mounting washer 11 which is attached to the bolt 12. The bolt 12 extends through the sleeve 25 and ends in the pin 13 which in turn is held in a frame element and is attached to it. To attach the connecting part 24 to the pane 2 a headless pin 26 can be opened and the sleeve 25 with the mounting washer 10 can be removed from the bolt 12 or pin 13. The bolt 12 with the pin 13 is then inserted from the outside through the pane 2 (for the connecting part 7 from FIG. 9 from the inside), whereupon the sleeve with the mounting washer 10 is placed on the bolt 12 and the headless pin 26 is tightened. Then the frame element 6 is attached to the pin 13.

On the bottom edge 18 of the front wall 17 likewise a frame element which is not shown in the drawings is attached to the inner side and like the frame element 6 is attached at a distance from the front wall pane 17 using the connecting parts 24 in order to increase the flexural stiffness of the front wall 17 in this area.

FIGS. 5 to 7 show in detail a support 4 on which the rollers 27 are supported. The support 4 has two mounting plates 28 and 29 which form a gap 30 between one another, in which gap the pane 2 with its edge 3 is held. To create space for the rollers 27 and their support, the pane 2 on the edge 3 in those areas in which the supports 4 are mounted are cut out in the shape of a circular arc. The support 4 can then be pushed into this recess, whereupon the mounting plates 29 and 30 are screwed to one another and thus the pane 2 is clamped tight.

To prevent the element as claimed in the invention from being raised off the rails 1, hooks 31 are attached to the inside mounting plate 29 and reach behind projections 32 on the rails 1 so that the supports 4 cannot be raised off the rails 1.

Since in the other elements as claimed in the invention which are not shown in the drawings there is a frame element within the pane 2, the elements can be pushed into one another until the frame element 6 which lies on the outside adjoins the edge 5 of the next larger element.

To seal the interior which has been formed by the elements, on the side which is opposite the frame elements 6 at the time, on the edges 5 there are sealing lips, for the larger element on the inside and for the smaller element on the outside of the pane 2, which lips adjoin one another in the closed state of the elements of the swimming pool roofing, that is, the state pulled completely out of one another.

Claims

1. Element of swimming pool roofing which can be moved on rails (1), with a pane (2) and with at least one frame element (6) which is connected to the pane (2), characterized in that each frame element (6) is located only on the outer side or the inner side of the pane (2).

2. Element as claimed in claim 1, wherein the pane (2) is curved in an arc shape, and wherein the frame element (6) is arranged following the arc-shaped contour of the pane (2).

3. Element as claimed in claim 1, wherein the frame element (6) is located at a distance from the pane (2).

4. Element as claimed in claim 1, wherein the frame element (6) is located in the edge area (5) of the pane (2).

5. Element as claimed in claim 1, wherein the frame element (6) is connected to the pane (2) via connecting parts (7, 24).

6. Element as claimed in claim 5, wherein the connecting parts (7, 24) are inserted through holes in the pane (2).

7. Element as claimed in claim 6, wherein the connecting parts are parts which are attached to the edge (5) of the pane (2).

8. Element as claimed in claim 5, wherein the connecting parts (7) on the inside of the pane (2) have a bent section (13) for connection to the front wall (17).

9. Element as claimed in claim 1, wherein the frame element (6) consists of a hollow section.

10. Element as claimed in claim 1, wherein on the lengthwise edges (3) of the pane (2) which face the rails (1) two or more supports (4) for rollers (27) are attached directly to the pane (2).

11. Element as claimed in claim 10, wherein the supports (4) have two mounting plates (28, 29) which have the shape of circular segments, which adjoin on either side of the pane (2) and which are screwed to one another.

12. Element as claimed in claim 11, wherein on the mounting plate (29) which is located on the inside of the pane (2) there is a hook (31) which extends behind a projection (32) on the rail (1).

13. Element as claimed in claim 2, wherein on each curved edge (5) of the pane (2) there is a frame element (6) and wherein the two frame elements (6) are mounted on the outer side of the pane (2).

14. Element as claimed in claim 1, wherein on each edge (5) of the pane (2), which edge is curved in an arc shape, there is a frame element (6) and wherein the frame element (6) on one edge (5) is mounted on the inner side and on the other edge (5) on the outer side of the pane (2).

15. Swimming pool roofing with elements which can be moved on two rails (1), wherein there are at least two element as claimed in claim 1.
