A stick-on drywall-corner cover for covering predetermined drywall-corner configurations has a stick-on first cover-attachment panel (2) and a stick-on second cover-attachment panel (3) with undetectably thin panel edges (7) on opposite sides of a corner portion (4) that is predeterminedly rigid. The thin panel edges can be paper layers (19) or thinly tapered edges (18) of rigid material (21) for stick-on covering of foreseeable drywall-corner configurations.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

This invention relates to covers of drywall corners preparatory to wall surfacing for building construction.

Numerous items, devices and methods for covering drywall corners for building construction are known. None, however, are known to have a desirably surfacable drywall-corner cover that can be articulated to fit onto and to be adhered to numerous configurations of drywall corners and to form undistinguishable cover-edge ridges in a manner taught by this invention.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Objects of patentable novelty and utility taught by this invention are to provide a drywall-corner cover which:

    • can be made to cover any known or foreseeable configuration of drywall corner;
    • can be made for surfacing with any known surfacing material or method;
    • can be manufactured in desirably surfaced form for omitting further surfacing after application in combination with matched wall surfacing;
    • can be made of desirably impenetrable and rigid material in all foreseeable shapes and forms;
    • does not require high skill for quick and accurate application; and
    • is competitively cost effective.

This invention accomplishes these and other objectives with a stick-on drywall-corner cover which is articulated for covering predetermined drywall-corner configurations, has undetectably thin extremities of sides that are adhered to drywall of drywall corners, is predeterminedly rigid and is predeterminedly surfacable.

Referring to FIGS. 1-2, a stick-on drywall-corner cover has a drywall-corner cover (1) articulated for covering a predetermined drywall-corner configuration with a first cover-attachment panel (2) that is disposed angularly opposite from a second cover-attachment panel (3) and a corner portion (4) for covering the drywall-corner configuration predeterminedly intermediate the first cover-attachment panel (2) and the second cover-attachment panel (3).

The first cover-attachment panel (2) and the second cover-attachment panel (3) have attachment sides (5) for being adhered to drywall (6) of the drywall-corner configuration.

The first cover-attachment panel (2) and the second cover-attachment panel (3) have predeterminedly thin panel edges (7) for forming predeterminedly undetectable panel-edge ridges on sides of the drywall (6) to which the first cover-attachment panel (2) and the second cover-attachment panel (3) are adhered.

The drywall-corner cover (1) can include cover composition having cover-wall thickness for predetermined rigidity, material integrity and surface structure intermediate the corner portion (4) and the panel edges (7).

The drywall-corner cover (1) can include an orthogonal cover dihedral (9) for being affixed orthogonally to an orthogonally protrusive drywall corner intermediate proximate the corner portion (4) and the first cover-attachment panel (2) and intermediate proximate the corner portion (4) and the second cover-attachment panel (3).

As shown in FIGS. 1-20, the cover composition of the drywall-corner cover (1) can include a predeterminedly rigid material (21) covered by a predeterminedly surfacable material (17). The rigid material (21) can be bendable with or without memory. Rigidity adequate for drywall-corner use is intended.

As shown in FIGS. 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17 and 19, the thin panel edges (7) can include predetermined paper layers (19) affixed to the attachment sides (5) of the first cover-attachment panel (2) and the second cover-attachment panel (3). The paper layers (19) can be extended laterally a predetermined distance from and parallel to edge steps (20) of the first cover-attachment panel (2) and the second cover-attachment panel (3).

The paper layers (19) are used for adherence and can include a water-activated or preferably mud-water-activated adherent.

As shown in FIGS. 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20, the thin panel edges (7) can include thinly tapered edges (18) of the rigid material (21).

The surfacable material (17) is shown as having a visible thickness for including a latex-fused paper, but can be minutely thin or can include mere surface treatment of the rigid material (21).

The rigid material (21) is preferably plastic or metal.

Referring to FIGS. 3-4, the drywall-corner cover (1) can include a predeterminedly adjustable cover dihedral (8) having angular adjustability intermediate proximate the corner portion (4) and the first cover-attachment panel (2) and intermediate proximate the corner portion (4) and the second cover-attachment panel (3). Adjustability can be provided with material thinness or with either memory or non-memory bendability.

Referring to FIGS. 5-6, the drywall-corner cover (1) can include an acute cover dihedral (10) for being affixed predeterminedly acute to an acutely protrusive drywall corner intermediate proximate the corner portion (4) and the first cover-attachment panel (2) and intermediate proximate the corner portion (4) and the second cover-attachment panel (3).

Referring to FIGS. 7-8, the drywall-corner cover (1) can include an obtuse cover dihedral (11) for being affixed predeterminedly obtuse to an obtusely protrusive drywall corner intermediate proximate the corner portion (4) and the first cover-attachment panel (2) and intermediate proximate the corner portion (4) and the second cover-attachment panel (3).

Referring to FIGS. 9-10, the drywall-corner cover (1) can include an acutely arcuate cover dihedral (13) for being affixed acutely arcuate to an acutely protrusive drywall corner predeterminedly intermediate proximate the corner portion (4) and the first cover-attachment panel (2) and intermediate proximate the corner portion (4) and the second cover-attachment panel (3).

Referring to FIGS. 11-12, the drywall-corner cover (1) can include an obtusely arcuate cover dihedral (14) for being affixed obtusely arcuate to an obtusely protrusive drywall corner predeterminedly intermediate proximate the corner portion (4) and the first cover-attachment panel (2) and intermediate proximate the corner portion (4) and the second cover-attachment panel (3).

Referring to FIGS. 13-14, the drywall-corner cover (1) can include a straight cover dihedral (12) for being affixed straightly, which includes selectively bended off-straightly, to a substantially straight drywall corner intermediate proximate the corner portion (4) and the first cover-attachment panel (2) and intermediate proximate the corner portion (4) and the second cover-attachment panel (3).

Referring to FIGS. 15-16, the drywall-corner cover (1) can include the obtusely arcuate cover dihedral (14) that is articulated for being affixed obtusely arcuate predeterminedly to an inclusively obtuse drywall corner intermediate proximate the corner portion (4) and the first cover-attachment panel (2) and intermediate proximate the corner portion (4) and the second cover-attachment panel (3).

Referring to FIGS. 17-18, the drywall-corner cover (1) can include the orthogonal cover dihedral (9) that is articulated for being affixed orthogonally to an intrusively orthogonal or other intrusively acute drywall cover intermediate proximate the corner portion (4) and the first cover-attachment panel (2) and intermediate proximate the corner portion (4) and the second cover-attachment panel (3).

Referring to FIGS. 19-20, the drywall-corner cover (1) can include a plural-corner cover (15) having at least two corner portions (4) intermediate the first cover-attachment panel (2) and the second cover-attachment panel (3). A link panel (16) can be matched to plural-corner structure of the drywall-corner configuration intermediate at least two corners of the plural-corner structure. Adjacent corner portions (4) of the plural-corner cover (15) are joined by the link panel (16).

The link panel (16) can be divisible linearly into two parts intermediate the first cover-attachment panel (2) and the second cover-attachment panel (3) for being applied as two parts for adjustment to drywall lengths and shapes intermediate the first cover-attachment panel (2) and the second cover-attachment panel (3).

A dashed arcuate line (6) shown in FIGS. 19-20 is representative of an arcuate or “bull-nose” drywall-corner configuration having plural-corner structure for which the plural-corner cover (15) is intended optionally.

A new and useful stick-on drywall-corner cover having been described, all such foreseeable modifications, adaptations, substitutions of equivalents, mathematical possibilities of combinations of parts, pluralities of parts, applications and forms thereof as described by the following claims and not precluded by prior art are included in this invention.

Claims

1. A stick-on drywall-corner cover comprising:

a drywall-corner cover articulated for covering a predetermined drywall-corner configuration;
the drywall-corner cover having a first cover-attachment panel that is disposed angularly opposite from a second cover-attachment panel;
a corner portion for covering the drywall-corner configuration predeterminedly intermediate the first cover-attachment panel and the second cover-attachment panel;
the first cover-attachment panel and the second cover-attachment panel having attachment sides for being adhered to drywall of the drywall-corner configuration;
the first cover-attachment panel and the second cover-attachment panel having predeterminedly thin panel edges for forming predeterminedly undetectable panel-edge ridges on sides of the drywall to which the first cover-attachment panel and the second cover-attachment panel are adhered; and
the drywall-corner cover including cover composition having cover-wall thickness for predetermined rigidity, material integrity and surface structure intermediate the corner portion and the panel edges.

2. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 1 wherein:

the drywall-corner cover includes a predeterminedly adjustable cover dihedral intermediate proximate the corner portion and the first cover-attachment panel and intermediate proximate the corner portion and the second cover-attachment panel.

3. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 1 wherein:

the drywall-corner cover includes an orthogonal cover dihedral for being affixed orthogonally intermediate proximate the corner portion and the first cover-attachment panel and intermediate proximate the corner portion and the second cover-attachment panel.

4. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 1 wherein:

the drywall-corner cover includes an acute cover dihedral for being affixed predeterminedly acute intermediate proximate the corner portion and the first cover-attachment panel and intermediate proximate the corner portion and the second cover-attachment panel.

5. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 1 wherein:

the drywall-corner cover includes an obtuse cover dihedral for being affixed predeterminedly obtuse intermediate proximate the corner portion and the first cover-attachment panel and intermediate proximate the corner portion and the second cover-attachment panel.

6. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 1 wherein:

the drywall-corner cover includes a straight cover dihedral for being affixed straightly intermediate proximate the corner portion and the first cover-attachment panel and intermediate proximate the corner portion and the second cover-attachment panel.

7. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 1 wherein:

the drywall-corner cover includes an acutely arcuate cover dihedral for being affixed acutely arcuate predeterminedly intermediate proximate the corner portion and the first cover-attachment panel and intermediate proximate the corner portion and the second cover-attachment panel.

8. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 1 wherein:

the drywall-corner cover includes an obtusely arcuate cover dihedral for being affixed obtusely arcuate predeterminedly intermediate proximate the corner portion and the first cover-attachment panel and intermediate proximate the corner portion and the second cover-attachment panel.

9. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 1 wherein:

the drywall-corner cover includes a plural-corner cover having at least two corner portions intermediate the first cover-attachment panel and the second cover-attachment panel;
a link panel is matched to plural-corner structure of the drywall-corner configuration intermediate at least two corners of the plural-corner structure; and
adjacent corner portions of the plural-corner cover are joined by the link panel.

10. the stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 9 wherein:

the link panel is divisible linearly into two parts intermediate the first cover-attachment panel and the second cover-attachment panel for being applied as two parts for adjustment to drywall lengths and shapes intermediate the first cover-attachment panel and the second cover-attachment panel.

11. A stick-on drywall-corner cover comprising:

a drywall-corner cover articulated for covering a predetermined drywall-corner configuration;
the drywall-corner cover having a first cover-attachment panel that is disposed angularly opposite from a second cover-attachment panel;
a corner portion for covering the drywall-corner configuration predeterminedly intermediate the first cover-attachment panel and the second cover-attachment panel;
the first cover-attachment panel and the second cover-attachment panel having attachment sides for being adhered to drywall of the drywall-corner configuration;
the first cover-attachment panel and the second cover-attachment panel having predeterminedly thin panel edges for forming predeterminedly undetectable panel-edge ridges on sides of the drywall to which the first cover-attachment panel and the second cover-attachment panel are adhered;
the thin panel edges include predetermined paper layers affixed to the attachment sides of the first cover-attachment panel and the second cover-attachment panel;
the paper layers being extended laterally a predetermined distance from and parallel to edge steps of the first cover-attachment panel and the second cover-attachment panel;
the drywall-corner cover including cover composition having cover-wall thickness for predetermined rigidity, material integrity and surface structure intermediate the corner portion and the panel edges;
the cover composition of the drywall-corner cover being a predetermined rigid material covered by predeterminedly surfacable material on an opposite side of the rigid material from the paper layers.

12. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 11 wherein:

the paper layers include water-activated adhesive.

13. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 11 wherein:

the paper layers include predetermined porosity for accepting adherent applied to the drywall and to the paper layers selectively.

14. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 11 wherein:

the rigid material includes a plastic material.

15. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 11 wherein:

the rigid material includes a metallic material.

16. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 11 wherein:

the drywall-corner cover includes a predeterminedly adjustable cover dihedral intermediate proximate the corner portion and the first cover-attachment panel and intermediate proximate the corner portion and the second cover-attachment panel.

17. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 11 wherein:

the drywall-corner cover includes an orthogonal cover dihedral for being affixed orthogonally intermediate proximate the corner portion and the first cover-attachment panel and intermediate proximate the corner portion and the second cover-attachment panel.

18. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 11 wherein:

the drywall-corner cover includes an acute cover dihedral for being affixed predeterminedly acute intermediate proximate the corner portion and the first cover-attachment panel and intermediate proximate the corner portion and the second cover-attachment panel.

19. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 11 wherein:

the drywall-corner cover includes an obtuse cover dihedral for being affixed predeterminedly obtuse intermediate proximate the corner portion and the first cover-attachment panel and intermediate proximate the corner portion and the second cover-attachment panel.

20. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 11 wherein:

the drywall-corner cover includes a straight cover dihedral for being affixed straightly intermediate proximate the corner portion and the first cover-attachment panel and intermediate proximate the corner portion and the second cover-attachment panel.

21. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 11 wherein:

the drywall-corner cover includes an acutely arcuate cover dihedral for being affixed acutely arcuate predeterminedly intermediate proximate the corner portion and the first cover-attachment panel and intermediate proximate the corner portion and the second cover-attachment panel.

22. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 11 wherein:

the drywall-corner cover includes an obtusely arcuate cover dihedral for being affixed obtusely arcuate predeterminedly intermediate proximate the corner portion and the first cover-attachment panel and intermediate proximate the corner portion and the second cover-attachment panel.

23. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 11 wherein:

the drywall-corner cover includes a plural-corner cover having at least two corner portions intermediate the first cover-attachment panel and the second cover-attachment panel;
a link panel is matched to plural-corner structure of the drywall-corner configuration intermediate at least two corners of the plural-corner structure; and
adjacent corner portions of the plural-corner cover are joined by the link panel.

24. the stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 23 wherein:

the link panel is divisible linearly into two parts intermediate the first cover-attachment panel and the second cover-attachment panel for being applied as two parts for adjustment to drywall lengths and shapes intermediate the first cover-attachment panel and the second cover-attachment panel.

25. A stick-on drywall-corner cover comprising:

a drywall-corner cover articulated for covering a predetermined drywall-corner configuration;
the drywall-corner cover having a first cover-attachment panel that is disposed angularly opposite from a second cover-attachment panel;
a corner portion for covering the drywall-corner configuration predeterminedly intermediate the first cover-attachment panel and the second cover-attachment panel;
the first cover-attachment panel and the second cover-attachment panel having attachment sides for being adhered to drywall of the drywall-corner configuration;
the first cover-attachment panel and the second cover-attachment panel having predeterminedly thin panel edges for forming predeterminedly undetectable panel-edge ridges on sides of the drywall to which the first cover-attachment panel and the second cover-attachment panel are adhered;
the thin panel edges include thinly tapered edges of the first cover-attachment panel and the second cover-attachment panel;
the drywall-corner cover including cover composition having cover-wall thickness for predetermined rigidity, material integrity and surface structure intermediate the corner portion and the panel edges; and
the cover composition of the drywall-corner cover being a predetermined rigid material covered externally by predeterminedly surfacable material.

26. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 25 wherein:

the attachment sides of the first cover-attachment panel and the second cover-attachment panel include water-activated adhesive.

27. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 25 wherein:

the attachment sides of the first cover-attachment panel and the second cover-attachment panel include predetermined porosity for accepting adherent applied to the drywall and to the attachment sides of the first cover-attachment panel and the second cover-attachment panel selectively.

28. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 26 wherein:

the rigid material includes a plastic material.

29. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 25 wherein:

the rigid material includes a metallic material.

30. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 25 wherein:

the drywall-corner cover includes a predeterminedly adjustable cover dihedral intermediate proximate the corner portion and the first cover-attachment panel and intermediate proximate the corner portion and the second cover-attachment panel.

31. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 25 wherein:

the drywall-corner cover includes an orthogonal cover dihedral for being affixed orthogonally intermediate proximate the corner portion and the first cover-attachment panel and intermediate proximate the corner portion and the second cover-attachment panel.

32. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 25 wherein:

the drywall-corner cover includes an acute cover dihedral for being affixed predeterminedly acute intermediate proximate the corner portion and the first cover-attachment panel and intermediate proximate the corner portion and the second cover-attachment panel.

the drywall-corner cover includes an obtuse cover dihedral for being affixed predeterminedly obtuse intermediate proximate the corner portion and the first cover-attachment panel and intermediate proximate the corner portion and the second cover-attachment panel.

34. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 25 wherein:

the drywall-corner cover includes a straight cover dihedral for being affixed straightly intermediate proximate the corner portion and the first cover-attachment panel and intermediate proximate the corner portion and the second cover-attachment panel.

35. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 25 wherein:

the drywall-corner cover includes an acutely arcuate cover dihedral for being affixed acutely arcuate predeterminedly intermediate proximate the corner portion and the first cover-attachment panel and intermediate proximate the corner portion and the second cover-attachment panel.

36. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 25 wherein:

the drywall-corner cover includes an obtusely arcuate cover dihedral for being affixed obtusely arcuate predeterminedly intermediate proximate the corner portion and the first cover-attachment panel and intermediate proximate the corner portion and the second cover-attachment panel.

37. The stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 25 wherein:

the drywall-corner cover includes a plural-corner cover having at least two corner portions intermediate the first cover-attachment panel and the second cover-attachment panel;
a link panel is matched to plural-corner structure of the drywall-corner configuration intermediate at least two corners of the plural-corner structure; and
adjacent corner portions of the plural-corner cover are joined by the link panel.

38. the stick-on drywall-corner cover of claim 37 wherein:
