Electric fan

An electric fan includes a base; a turbine fan fixed on the base; a housing installed on the base; a guide plate; a front cover in the front side of the housing; and an upper cap on top of the front cover. The turbine fan has a wind passage, a sloped guide surface, and two wind inlets in two sides. The housing has grid inlets facing the wind inlets of the turbine fan and a curved surface. The guide plate is fixed on the curved surface of the housing. The front cover has grid outlets and adjust leaves. When the turbine fan operates, air is sucked in through the grid inlets of the housing, the wind inlets and out of the wind outlets, guided by the sloped guide surface, the curved surface of the housing, blown out of the grid outlets of the front cover in changeable directions.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

This invention relates to an electric fan, particularly to one adjustable in blowing directions to an upper and a lower angle by means of an adjustable leaves set of a front cover deposited on a front cover closing on a front side of a housing surrounding a turbine fan fixed on a base. When the turbine fan consisting of a motor and a fan leaves set is operated, air is sucked in the housing though grid wind holes, and then through the wind inlets and along the wind passageway of the turbine fan, and along the curved surface of the housing and a guide plate in the housing and finally out of the grid wind holes of the front cover into an upper and a lower direction adjusted by the adjust leaves set.

2. Description of the Prior Art

Common conventional electrical fans have a motor, a set of fan leaves to be rotated by the shaft of the motor for the leaves to generate wind for cooling, and their shapes are mostly a round head for receiving the motor and a set of fan leaves set in front of the head, without not much variations seen in their designs. Further, conventional electric fans can change the up-and-down angles of the head and the swing angles to the right and left by means of a support rod and a bolt, but the screw may often become loose and fall down to lose its function.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The purpose of the invention is offer an electric fan possible to adjust the blowing angles and having a design for breaking through the conventional shape for carrying out better blowing effect.

The feature of the invention is a turbine fan consisting of a motor and a turbine fan set for blowing air, and a housing surrounding the turbine fan fixed on a base and having grid inlets at two sides facing a wind mouth of the turbine fan and a curved surface on its rear portion. Then the end edge of the guide surface of the turbine fan rests against the lower side of the curved surface. Further a guide plate is fixed on the curved surface of the housing, having its rear end resting on the curved surface, a front cover is positioned in the front side of the housing, braving grid outlets with an adjusting leaves set screwed with its inner surface, and an upper cap is closed on the upper side of the front cover.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

A preferred embodiment of an electric fan in the present invention, as shown in FIGS. 1, 2, 3 and 4, includes a base 1, a turbine fan 11, a housing 2, a guide plate 3, a front cover 4, an upper cap 5, as main components combined together.

The turbine fan 11 has a motor 110 installed on the base 11 and possible to change its directions, a set of leaves 11, a wind passageway 12 formed in an upper portion, a sloped guide surface 120 extending sloping upward from the wind passage 12, a wind inlet 13 respectively formed in the two sides, and a combine post 14 formed on a front side surface.

The housing 2 is combined on the base 1, shaped nearly as U, surrounding the two sides and a rear side of the turbine fan 11, having plural grid inlets 20 formed in the two sides and facing the wind inlet 13 of the turbine fan 11, and plural combine posts 21, 22 and 23 formed on an upper inner surface and a curved surface 24 on the rear side.

The guide plate 3 is fixed on the curved surface 24 of he housing 2 and faces the wind outlet 12 of the turbine fan 11, having screw holes 30 and 31 facing the combine posts 21, 22 for screws to combine them.

The front cover 4 is provided to locate in the front side of the housing 2, having grid outlets 40 facing the wind passage 12 of the turbine fan 11 and a set of adjust leaves 41 screwed on the inner surface. The adjust leaves 41 have an adjust rod 410 extending out of the grid outlets 40. The front cover further has a screw hole 42 in the upper portion facing the combine post 23 for a screw (N) to combine the, and a projection 43 under the grid outlets 40 combined with the combine post 14 of the turbine fan 11.

The upper cap 5 is closed on the upper side of the front cover 4, having plural press buttons 50 on the surface for turning on and off the motor 11 and adjusting wind speed.

In assembling, referring to FIGS. 1, 2, 3 and 4, firstly the turbine fan 11 is fixed on the base 1 with screws, and then the housing 2 is installed to cover on the base 1, with the grid inlets 20 facing the wind inlets 13 of the turbine fan 11, and with the end of the sloped guide surface 120 resting under the curved surface 24 of the housing 2. Next, the guide plate 3 is combined with the housing 2, by aligning the screw holes 30 and 31 with the combine posts 21 and 22 of the housing 2 and screwing them with the screws (N) together and letting the rear end of the guide plate 3 resting on the curved surface 24. After that, the set of adjust leaves 41 is screwed with the inner surface of the front cover 4, letting the adjust rod 410 protruding out of he grid wind holes 40. Then the front cover 4 is combined with the housing 2, by aligning and combining the screw hole 42 with the combine post 23 with a screw (N), and also combining the projection 43 with the combine post 14 of the turbine fan 11. Lastly, the upper cap 5 is closed on top of the front cover 4, finishing assembly of the electric fan.

In using, referring to FIGS. 2, 3, 4 and 5, the press buttons 50 of the upper cap 5 are optionally pressed to start the turbine fan 11, and then air may be sucked through the grid inlets 20 of the housing, through the wind inlets 13, and blown by the turbine leaves 111 along the wind passage 12, the guide sloped surface 120, the curved surface 24 of the housing 2 and out of the grid outlets 40 of the front cover 4. Further, a user can adjust the adjust rod 410 of the set of adjust leaves 41 for changing the blowing angles and up-and-down directions.

While the preferred embodiment of the invention has been described above, it will be recognized and understood that various modifications may be made therein and the appended claims are intended to cover all such modifications that may fall within the spirit and scope of the invention.

Claims

1. An electric fan comprising:

a base;
a turbine fan fixed on said base and having a wind passage formed in an upper portion and a sloped guide surface extending up and rearward from said wind passage, said turbine fan further having a wind inlet respectively at two sidewalls;
a housing fixed on said base for surrounding said turbine fan and having plural grid holes respectively in two sidewalls to face said wind inlets of said turbine fan, said housing further having its rear side formed as a curved wall, said sloped guide surface of said turbine fan having its end edge resting under said curved wall;
a guide plate positioned on said curved sidewall and having its rear end resting on said curved wall;
a front cover positioned in the front side of said housing and having plural grid outlets and a set of adjust leaves screwed with an inner surface of said front cover; and,
an upper cap positioned to close on an upper side of said front cover.

2. The electric fan as claimed in claim 1, wherein a motor and a turbine leaves are provided in said turbine fan, which has a combine post on a front surface.

3. The electric fan as claimed in claim 1, wherein said housing further has plural combine posts near an upper portion of its inner surface.

4. The electric fan as claimed in claim 1, wherein said guide plate further has plural screw holes facing said combine posts of said housing for screws to combine said guide plate with said housing.

5. The electric fan as claimed in claim 1, wherein said set of adjust leaves is further provided with an adjust rod extending out of said grid outlets, and said front cover has a screw hole facing said combine post of said housing for a screw to combine said front cover with said housing, and a projection on an inner lower surface combined with said combine post on the front side of said turbine fan.
