KC key keeper

An adaptor allowing a retractable key keeper having a clip on back to attach to a purse or the like. The adaptor being a spring like clip/fastener attacting or engulfing the strap or portion of the purse of the like to secure the key keeper to the purse or the like.

Description

The applicant claims the benefit of earlier U.S. Provisional Application No. 60/624,805, Title: KC Key Keeper and Filing Date: Nov. 26, 2003.

This utility will be used to attach keys to a purse, pocketbook, bag or the like for easy access. It attaches to the strap or portion of purse or the like and stays fastened. An oval or elongated fastener with a snap link will be used to fasten a retractable key chain reel to the strap of the purse, handbag, or the like. The retractable mechanism allows the key (s) to be placed in a car ignition or a door lock by stretching the retractable cord without removing the utility from the purse of the like. The utility allows the user to store keys inside the purse or the like when the keys are not being used.

Materials—Retractable key divice with a cord for example a vinyl or metal cord. There is a clip on one side. An additional attachment or fastener is attached to allow the divice to be fastened to the purse or ther like. The attachement/fastener could vary in size and material depending on where it would be attached on the purse or the like. The keys will be attached to the split key ring. See picture.

Claims

1. Applicant claims the device for attaching a retractable key keeper to a purse or the like. The key keeper has a clip on the back of the key keeper, the adapter consisting of a snap fastener that securely engulfs or attaches the portion of the purse or the like that it's attached to. The fastener allows the clip to slide into the fastener to secure the key keeper to the purse or the like.
