Sock storage, laundering, organization, sorting, matching and loss prevention device

This invention pertains to the household utility and garment industries. This invention is a nylon mesh or other suitable fabric pouch with a round elastic or other suitable stretch material opening. It is large enough to hold a single pair of socks. The socks are to be kept in the device as a means of organizing socks and solving the problem of constantly sorting and matching socks. It also solves the problem of losing mates to socks. The device is designed to hold a pair of socks at all times while the socks are not being worn: dirty/worn socks are deposited into the device; the device is then deposited into the laundry; the device is then laundered with the socks contained therein; the devise is then taken directly from the laundering process and placed into storage until the socks are worn again.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

This invention pertains to the household utility and garment industries. Specifically, this is a device that will assist consumers in storing socks, organizing socks, laundering socks, sorting and matching sock mates, as well as prevent the loss of sock mates.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

This invention is a device made of nylon mesh fabric, or other similar durable, washable mesh material.

Sock pairs are always together while not being worn, thus eliminating the chore of identifying, sorting, and matching socks. Since socks always stay together inside the device while not being worn, sock mates are never lost.

BRIEF DECSRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING

Single View (Front Page View): This is a complete drawing of the device. Since there are only two parts to the device, there are only two Reference Characters in the drawing:

    • Reference Character 1 refers to the stretchable opening through which socks are deposited into the device;
    • Reference Character 2 refers to the mesh fabric pouch which holds the socks.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

This device is a nylon mesh or other suitable fabric pouch with a round elastic or other suitable stretch material opening. The fabric may be nylon or other similar durable material which can be laundered repeatedly. The mesh design allows the user to easily identify the pair of socks contained. The elastic or stretch opening is large enough to place a single pair of socks inside with the opening stretched or expanded but small enough when not stretched or expanded so that the pair of socks do not fall out during laundering or while in storage. The size of the pouch should correspond to the size of the socks contained. It is large enough to allow the free flow of water and detergent during the laundering process.

Various sizes of this device will be manufactured to accommodate various sizes of socks from infants to adults. The device will also be manufactured in several colors allowing the consumer to assign a color to each family member, further aiding in the sock sorting and organizing chore.
