Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a plastic expanding file holder and particularly to an expanding file holder with marking labels on the spacers that are visible without opening the lid to facilitate searching of document indexes.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

A conventional expanding file holder as shown in FIG. 1 is divided into a plurality of housing pouches 2 to facilitate categorizing and holding of different types of data. In order to make searching of data faster and more accurate, each housing pouch 2 has a jutting marking tab 3 to hold the index of the documents held in the housing pouch 2.

To search the index on the marking tab 3, users have to open the lid 4 of the expanding file holder 1 to expose the marking tab 3. It takes time and additional operation procedures.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In view of the aforesaid disadvantages, the primary object of the present is to provide an expanding file holder equipped with a window in which a plastic expanding file holder is divided by spacers to form a plurality of holding compartments. Each holding compartment has a marking tab on the top edge. The expanding file holder has a lid on one side that may be flipped to cover the opening of the expanding file holder. The lid has a transparent window so that users can directly see marking labels of documents without opening the lid to rapidly search the index of the documents held in the expanding file holder.

The foregoing, as well as additional objects, features and advantages of the invention will be more readily apparent from the following detailed description, which proceeds with reference to the accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a conventional plastic card file.

FIG. 2 is a perspective view of an embodiment of the invention with the lid opened.

FIG. 3 is a perspective view of an embodiment of the invention with the lid closed.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Please referring to FIGS. 2 and 3, the expanding file holder having a window according to the present invention includes a rectangular expanding file holder 10 made from plastics. It has a lid 11 extended from one side that may be flipped to cover the top opening of the expanding file holder 10.

The expanding file holder 10 has a plurality of transverse spacers 12 located inside to divide the interior of the expanding file holder 10 into a plurality of holding compartments. Each spacer 12 has a marking tab 13 extended from the top edge and formed by a transparent plastic sheet in double layers to hold a marking label 14 which indicates the index of documents.

The expanding file holder 10 has a face plate 15 on an outer side that has a notch 16 on the top section. The top edge of each spacer 12 is equal to or smaller than the top edge of the face plate 15. The lid 17 has a transparent window 17 formed on a desired location corresponding to the marking tabs 13 of the spacers 12. Hence users can directly see the marking label 14 from outside of the expanding file holder 10 without opening the lid 11 to rapidly search the indexes of the documents held in the expanding file holder 10.

While the preferred embodiment of the invention has been set forth for the purpose of disclosure, modifications of the disclosed embodiment of the invention as well as other embodiments thereof may occur to those skilled in the art. Accordingly, the appended claims are intended to cover all embodiments that do not depart from the spirit and scope of the invention.
