CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

The present application claims the benefit of provisional patent application Ser. No. 60/632,534 to Nazzaro, filed on Dec. 3, 2004, entitled “Brasserie”, and provisional patent application Ser. No. 60/694,437 to Nazzaro, filed on Jun. 28, 2005, entitled “Brasserie”, both which are hereby incorporated by reference.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Brasserie users confront the problem of carrying personal belongings and valuables when going out. Although purses, wallets and other containers can help resolve this problem, the sizes often do not satisfy women's concerns with public image and security. In addition, carrying these containers can be tedious and troublesome, for example, at stores, restaurants, bars, clubs, etc. Moreover, women often have to be aware of their containers' location at all times.

As a solution to these kinds of containers, there exist brasseries with narrow pouches located between the cups. However, these narrow pouch bras limit what may be stored. Furthermore, anatomically, there is not much space to store items in the cleavage area. Even if an item is storable, such as a credit card or cash, the stored item often limits a brasserie user's mobility, flexibility and/or comfort

Consequently, there needs to be brasseries with pouches with expandable storage capacity. In addition, there needs to be brasseries that provide mobility, flexibility and/or comfort when small items are stored. Moreover, it would be desirable to have detachable pouches.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The present invention involves a brasserie with a security pouch. As a key component, the detachable security pouch may be located along the side or the back of a brasserie and may provide an additional measure for users to store items securely.

Referring to FIG. 1, a brasserie may be shown having two cups 105, a first connector 110, two second connectors 115, a fastener 120 and a security pouch 130. As one embodiment, the first connector 110 may connect the cups 105 together. The first connector 110 may be attached (e.g., sewn) onto each cup 105. As another embodiment, each second connector 115 may connect a cup 105 to a fastener 120. A second connector 115 may be attached (e.g., sewn) onto a cup 105. In addition, the brasserie may include at least one harness 205, such as a shoulder strap, a lace or a halter, as shown in FIG. 2. A further embodiment includes at least one security pouch 305 located on at least one harness 205, as shown in FIG. 3. The security pouch may be detachable, as shown in FIG. 4, or may be nondetachable.

The present invention may be made using, but not limited to, any kind of cloth, such as silk, cotton, nylon, polyester or a combination of materials. The present invention may also have varying patterns (e.g., solid, striped, plaid, etc.), designs (e.g., happy faces, turtles, mosaic art, etc.) or colors (e.g., red, black, purple, blue, etc.). Furthermore, the present invention may be any kind of brasserie (e.g., sports brasserie, push up brasserie, swimsuit top, teddy, traditional brasserie, etc.).

It is preferable that the brasserie be stretchable. One purpose of flexibility is to facilitate the ease of attaching and/or detaching the security pouch. Another purpose is to provide maximum comfort.

A security pouch 130, 305 may have a locking mechanism 135, 310, such as a zipper, velcro or button. The locking mechanism 135, 310 may be placed anywhere along the perimeter of the security pouch 130, 305, but is preferably placed on a portion of the top perimeter. It is preferable that the security pouch 130, 305 be detachable and/or removable. However, the security pouch 130, 305 may be nondetachable.

The ability to remove a security pouch 130, 305 is particularly useful in providing a brasserie user easy access to personal belongings. Additionally, the ability to remove can also allow a brasserie user to adjust or realign positioning of the security pouch along a second connector 115 or harness 205. In essence, the security pouch may be aligned interiorly or exteriorly with respect to a second connector 115 or harness 205. This additional feature may provide added comfort for a brasserie user. Moreover, detachability can also provide a brasserie user the ability to store the security pouch 130, 305 in a different environment, such as a purse, pocket or even the opposite side of the brasserie. For example, assume that a brasserie user has a right rib injury. If the brasserie user prefers to switch the security pouch 130, 305 from the right side of the brasserie to the left side to ease pressure on or against the injury, then the brasserie user would have the choice to do so. Alternatively, as a detachable pouch, it 130, 305 may also serve or function as an independent, portable container, such as a purse, wallet, wristlet or traveling pouch.

A detachable security pouch 405, as shown in FIG. 4, may have a variety of connectors for attaching onto a second connector 115 or harness 205. For example, connectors may include string 410, velcro, button, zipper, lace, etc. The detachable security pouch may also be made using, but not limited to, any kind of cloth, such as silk, cotton, nylon, polyester or a combination of materials. It may also have varying patterns (e.g., solid, striped, plaid, etc.), designs (e.g., happy faces, turtles, mosaic art, etc.) or colors (e.g., red, black, purple, blue, etc.).

A brasserie may have more than one security pouch 130, 305, 405. The security pouch 130, 305, 405 may allow a user to securely store items, such as but not limited to an identification card, passport, credit card, cash, coin(s), key(s) or jewelry. Because a user's movement can limited by a securely stored item, the location of the security pouch 130, 305, 405 tends to be significant. Traditional brasseries with pouches are located in the front (e.g., sternum area, cleavage, etc.) that connects the two cups together.

However, a brasserie user wearing a brasserie with a pouch placed near the sternum or cleavage area may experience discomfort, less mobility and/or even less flexibility. Additionally, current brasseries with a pouch placed near the sternum or cleavage area provide much less security than that of the present invention. It can be easy for a thief to snatch or steal the pouch, just as if the thief were stealing a handbag off a person.

To resolve these problems, it is a key aspect of the present invention to place a security pouch 130 between a cup 105 and the fastener 120. For example, the security pouch 130 may be placed on a second connector 115 that sits along the side of a user's torso or along the chest cavity. It is preferable that a detachable or an affixed security pouch 130, 305, 405 be located approximately along the exterior or interior portion of a second connector 115. Additionally, one or more security pouches 305 may be attached along the exterior or interior portion of a harness 205. The security pouch 130 may also be placed near a latch 120. The security pouch 130, 305, 405 may vary in shape (e.g., circular, rectangular, square form, nonsymmetrical, etc.) and size, but is preferably not larger than the size of a second connector 115. The security pouch 130, 305, 405 may even vary in size, dimension, density and capacity of storing materials. For example, the security pouch 130, 305, 405 may have a dimension of 3.75″ wide (length)×2.5″ tall (height)×0.5″ thick (width). The security pouch 130, 305, 405 may be large enough (such as 3.5″ wide (length)×5″ tall (height)×0.5″ thick (width)) to be a traveling pouch. Alternatively, the security pouch 130, 305, 405 may be small, such as 1″ wide (length)×1″ tall (height)×0.5″ thick (width). Like the security pouch 130, 305, 405, the remaining components (such as but not limited to the cup 105, fastener 120, harness 205, etc.) of the brasserie may also vary in size. Moreover, it is preferable that the security pouch be stretchable. This aspect aids in the security pouch's flexibility, such as repositioning along a second connector. Also, being stretchable may allow the user to store any item slightly larger than the security pouch 130, 305, 405. Moreover, having a stretchable aspect can aid a user in attaining maximum comfort.

The foregoing descriptions of the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been presented for purposes of illustration and description. They are not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise forms disclosed, and obviously many modifications and variations are possible in light of the above teaching. The illustrated embodiments were chosen and described in order to best explain the principles of the invention and its practical application to thereby enable others skilled in the art to best utilize the invention in various embodiments and with various modifications as are suited to the particular use contemplated.
