Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of Invention

The present invention relates to an umbrella handle, and more particularly, to an umbrella handle filled with silica material between a handle shell and an inner sleeve thereof for comfortably holding and providing different sizes of engagement with various umbrella's centerposts on each end.

2. Related Art

An umbrella, no matter with a collapsible umbrella centerpost or others, basically includes a rib linkage system connected to one end of the centerpost, and a handle connected to the other end of that centerpost. A cover is stretched over the rib linkage system. The handle provides the users to steadily hold the umbrella. However, conventional umbrella handle has the drawbacks as follows.

(1) Normally the handle only provides one end with threaded hole to engage with the centerpost. That is, just only one kind of sized centerpost can be fit to the handle.

(2) Usually the handle is made from material which can not provide comfortably holding.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention provides an umbrella handle with different sizes of engagement on each end to fit various umbrella's centerposts

Furthermore, the present invention provides an umbrella handle utilizing silica material filled between a handle shell and an inner sleeve thereof for comfortably holding.

Accordingly, the umbrella handle of the present invention includes a handle shell, an inner sleeve, two positioning taps, a fastening element and two lids. The hollow handle shell is made of soft plastic material and has a flange formed on each opening end. The inner sleeve is located in the handle shell and formed a longitudinally bore therein and a cavity on each end. Each positioning tap is formed a smaller through hole to connect a larger threaded hole therein to be received in the cavity and securely fitted in the bore. The fastening element is for connecting the two positioning taps through the two corresponding through hole. A silica material is filled between the soft handle shell and the inner sleeve to provide comfortably holding. Each lid is covered on two end of the hollow handle, respectively. Two threaded holes of the positioning taps have different sizes to fit different umbrella centerposts.

Further scope of applicability of the present invention will become apparent from the detailed description given hereinafter. However, it should be understood that the detailed description and specific examples, while indicating preferred embodiments of the invention, are given by way of illustration only, since various changes and modifications within the spirit and scope of the invention will become apparent to those skilled in the art from this detailed description.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The present invention will become more fully understood from the detailed description given hereinbelow illustration only, and thus are not limitative of the present invention, and wherein:

FIG. 1 shows an exploded perspective view of an umbrella handle according to the present invention.

FIG. 2 shows a perspective view of the umbrella handle assembly in FIG. 1.

FIG. 3 shows a cross-sectional view of the umbrella handle of FIG. 2.

FIG. 4 shows an umbrella handle of the present invention connected with an umbrella centerpost.

FIG. 5 shows a cross-sectional view of the umbrella handle connected with the centerpost.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to FIG. 1 to 3, an umbrella handle of the present invention includes an inner sleeve 1, two positioning taps 2, 3, a fastening element 4, a handle shell 5 and two lids 7.

The inner sleeve 1 shaped like a barbell has a longitudinally through bore 11. Each end of the inner sleeve 1 is formed with a cavity 12.

Each of the positioning taps 2, 3 has a head 21, 31 with a column 22, 32 extending therefrom, respectively, to form a T-shape in cross-section. At least one hole 23, 33 is respectively formed on the side without protruded the column 22, 32. A rib 24, 34 is respectively formed on the column 22, 32 abutted the head 21, 31. Moreover, each of the positioning taps 2, 3 is formed a smaller through hole 26, 36 to connect a larger threaded hole 25, 35 therein. The threaded holes 25, 35 should be in different sizes and the through holes 26, 36 are preferably in the same size. Therefore, when the positioning taps 2, 3 are respectively received from both ends of the inner sleeve 1, the head 21, 31 is seated in the cavity 12 while the column 22, 32 is fitted in the bore 11 with the rib 24, 34 engaged with a corresponding slot formed on the wall of the bore 11 so that the positioning taps 2, 3 can not be rotated with respect to the inner sleeve 1.

After the positioning taps 2, 3 are located in the inner sleeve 1, the fastening element 4 including a screw 41 is passed through the corresponding through holes 26, 36 to connect the positioning taps 2, 3 together via a nut 42 so that the inner sleeve 1 is securely assembled with the positioning taps 2, 3. The fastening element 4 can further includes washers 43 to fasten the connection.

The hollow handle shell 5 is made of soft plastic material with a flange 51 formed on each opening end. The inner sleeve 1 assembled with the positioning taps 2, 3 can be fixedly located in the handle shell 5 with the positioning taps 2, 3 each fitly contacted against the inner wall of the flange 51 and a silica material filled between the inner sleeve 1 and the handle shell 5.

The lid 7 includes at least one pole 71 formed on one side to engage with the hole 23, 33 formed on each corresponding positioning tap 2, 3. As such, the lid 7 can be fixedly covered on each end of the handle shell 5.

Referring to FIG. 4 and FIG. 5, the umbrella handle of the invention provides two different sizes of thread holes 25, 35 to be chosen to fit a centerpost 8. Moreover, the silica material is filled between the inner sleeve 2 and the soft handle shell 5 to provide more comfortably holding the umbrella handle.

The invention being thus described, it will be obvious that the same may be varied in many ways. Such variations are not to be regarded as a departure from the spirit and scope of the invention, and all such modifications as would be obvious to one skilled in the art are intended to be included within the scope of the following claims.
