Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a cosmetics container. In particular, the present invention relates to an interconnectable cosmetics container.

2. Description of the Related Art

Bottles or containers of various shapes and sizes have been designed to contain cosmetics such as eyelash liner, eyeliner liquid, lip juice, lipstick, nail polish, etc. Packaging, transport, and storage are always problems to mass-produced items. The present invention is intended to provide a cosmetics container to mitigate and/or obviate these problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An objective of the present invention is to provide an interconnectable cosmetics container that can be releasably connected to another similarly constructed interconnectable cosmetics container, thereby saving the cost for packaging, transport, and storage.

An interconnectable cosmetics container in accordance with the present invention comprises a body. The body comprises a recess defined in a side thereof and a protrusion on another side thereof. The protrusion of the body of the interconnectable cosmetics container is releasably engageable in a recess of a similarly constructed interconnectable cosmetics container. Thus, the interconnectable cosmetics containers can be connected together as many as desired to save space, which is advantageous to packaging, transport, and storage. Further, the interconnected cosmetics containers are more stable when placed upright and may provide an aesthetic effect.

Preferably, the recess and the protrusion of the interconnectable cosmetics container are complementarily configured.

Preferably, the recess and the protrusion are rectangular, star-polygonal or polygonal.

The side in which the recess of the interconnectable cosmetics container is defined and another side of the interconnectable cosmetics container on which the protrusion is formed may be opposite or adjacent to each other.

Other objects, advantages, and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

Referring to FIGS. 1, 2, and 4, an interconnectable cosmetics container in accordance with the present invention is designated by 1 and generally comprises a body 12 and a cap 11. In the illustrated embodiment, an applicator 111 is attached to the cap 11 and received in the body 12 when not in use.

Of more importance, a recess 121 is defined in a side of the body 12 and a protrusion 122 is formed on another side of the body 12. In the illustrated embodiment, the recess 121 and the protrusion 122 are located on two sides of the body 12 opposite to each other. Nevertheless, the recess 121 and the protrusion 122 may be located on two sides of the body 12 adjacent to each other. The protrusion 122 and the recess 121 are preferably complementarily configured.

As illustrated in FIGS. 3, 5, and 6, the protrusion 122 of the interconnectable cosmetics container 1 in accordance with the present invention can be engaged into the recess 121 of another (or a similarly constructed) interconnectable cosmetics container 1. Thus, the interconnectable cosmetics containers 1 can be connected together as many as desired to save space, which is advantageous to packaging, transport, and storage. Further, the interconnected cosmetics containers 1 are more stable when placed upright.

The recess 121 and the protrusion 122 of the interconnectable cosmetics container 1 in FIG. 1 are substantially rectangular. FIG. 7 shows a modified embodiment of the invention, wherein the interconnectable cosmetics container 1A includes a body 12A with a star-polygonal recess 121A and a star-polygonal protrusion 122A. As illustrated in FIG. 8, a plurality of cosmetics containers 1A with star-polygonal recess 121A and protrusion 122A can be connected together to form a star-like arrangement, providing an aesthetic effect in addition to the space-saving effect. In alternative arrangements, the recess 121A and the protrusion 122A can be polygonal or of any other desired shapes.

Although the invention has been explained in relation to the preferred embodiments, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
