Wireless controller for game machine

A wireless controller for a display of a game machine comprises a gun body having a substrate; a Y axis solid static gyro and an X axis solid static gyro being installed on the substrate; the Y axis solid static gyro and X axis solid static gyro being connected to a direction detector. When the Y axis solid static gyro or the X axis solid static gyro moves, the direction detector will sense the moving directions of the Y axis solid static gyro and the X axis solid static gyro. Signals related to the moving direction is transferred wirelessly to wireless receiver which is further connected to a computer through an USB interface so that the movement of the gun body can be displayed on a screen of a display of the computer.

Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to game machines, and in particular to a wireless controller for a game machine, wherein it only needs to move the gun body three-directionally. The figures in the game machine will act corresponding to the action of the gun body. Various switches are used to provide the actions of moving forwards and backwards, viewing at various directions, aiming, shooting, and filling ammunition so that the user plays the game as in a real environment. Furthermore, the present invention can be used with a conventional cathode ray tube, a liquid crystal display of a notebook computer, a liquid crystal TV, a projection TV, and a conventional TV.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

In the prior art shooting game of a game machine, a joystick or a mouse is used to operate the figures in the display. The actions of for example moving forwards and backwards, viewing at various directions, aiming, shooting, and filling ammunition are performed by operating a computer keyboard or a mouse. For example the action of triggering or aiming is performed by operating a computer keyboard or a mouse. As a result, the gamer does not feel that he (or she) plays in a real environment.

Furthermore, in one improvement, all the operations are integrated in a gun shape controller which is called as light gun. The light gun has a plurality of control keys thereon, such as a trigger, moving keys at various directions, a start key, a stop key, etc. The viewing action of the figure is performed by moving the control keys at corresponding directions. The principle of aiming is that a front end of the light gun has a reflected round sheet which is adhered to a transparent plastic mirror. When the trigger is triggered, the screw of the display will flash in a short time and have a dull period (the game is stopped temporarily). Then the scanning lines are operated corresponding to the X and Y coordinates of the shooting in the screen so that the user can aim and shoot. The defects of the light gun are that it is used only in the conventional cathode ray tube (CRT) display, which is not suitable to be used in other displays (such as liquid crystal display TVs, projector TVs, etc). Most of these devices are wired-connected. Another defect of this light gun is that in aiming or shooting, the screen has a white frame in a short time. If the trigger is operated continuously, the white frame is retained until the trigger is released. Besides, the light gun only has the action of shooting. Other actions, such as jumping, viewing leftwards or rightwards, squat, etc., cannot be performed. These actions must be performed by pressing other keys by the other hand. Thereby the use of the present invention is inconvenient.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Accordingly, the primary object of the present invention is to provide a wireless controller for a game machine, wherein only needs to move the gun body three-directionally. The figures in the game machine will act corresponding to the action of the gun body. Thereby various switches are used to provide the actions of moving forwards and backwards, viewing at various directions, aiming, shooting, and filling ammunition so that the user plays the game as in a real environment. Furthermore, the present invention can be used with a conventional cathode ray tube, a liquid crystal display of a notebook computer, a liquid crystal TV, a projection TV, and a conventional TV.

To achieve above objects, the present invention provides a wireless controller for a display of a game machine which comprises a gun body having a substrate; a Y axis solid static gyro and an X axis solid static gyro being installed on the substrate; the Y axis solid static gyro and X axis solid static gyro being connected to a direction detector; a central processing unit being installed at a lower side of the substrate; when the Y axis solid static gyro or the X axis solid static gyro moves, the direction detector will sense the moving directions of the Y axis solid static gyro and the X axis solid static gyro; signals related to the moving direction being transferred wirelessly to wireless receiver which is further connected to a computer through an USB interface so that the movement of the gun body can be displayed on a screen of a display of the computer.

The various objects and advantages of the present invention will be more readily understood from the following detailed description when read in conjunction with the appended drawing.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a schematic view about the installation of the X axis solid static gyro and Y axis solid static gyro according to the present invention.

FIG. 2 shows the connections of the gun body, direction detector and the computer.

FIG. 3 shows one embodiment about the gun body and a CRT display of a computer.

FIG. 4 shows the embodiment about the present invention with a notebook computer.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

In order that those skilled in the art can further understand the present invention, a description will be described in the following in details. However, these descriptions and the appended drawings are only used to cause those skilled in the art to understand the objects, features, and characteristics of the present invention, but not to be used to confine the scope and spirit of the present invention defined in the appended claims.

Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, a wireless controller for a game machine is illustrated. The controller has the following elements.

A gun body 1 has a substrate 2. A Y axis solid static gyro 20 and an X axis solid static gyro 21 below the Y axis solid static gyro 20 are installed on the substrate 2. The Y axis solid static gyro 20 and X axis solid static gyro 21 are connected to a direction detector 22. A central processing unit 24 is installed at a lower side of the substrate 2. When the Y axis solid static gyro 20 or the X axis solid static gyro 21 moves, the direction detector 22 will sense the moving directions of the Y axis solid static gyro 20 and the X axis solid static gyro 21. The direction detector 22 is connected to an A/D (analog to digital) conversion unit 23. The A/D conversion unit 23 is connected to the central processing unit 24.

A switch unit 25 includes a forward movement switch 250 and a backward movement switch 251, an omnidirectional viewing switch 252, an aim switch 253, a shooting switch 254, a filling ammunition switch 255 are installed on the gun body 1. The central processing unit 24 is connected to a charge unit 26 and a battery set 27. The charge unit 26 supplies power to the central processing unit 24 and the direction detector 22. The central processing unit 24 is connected to a wireless transmission module 28. A digital signal for moving the gun body 1 is transmitted to a wireless receiving module 31 which is connected to a computer 3 through a USB interface module 30. The digital signal is corresponding to a point on a display of the computer 3. With the operation of the switch unit 25, the user can play the game machine as in a real environment.

Referring to FIGS. 3 and 4, in the present invention, the gun body 1 can be used with a conventional cathode ray tube 4, a liquid crystal display 50 of a notebook computer, a liquid crystal TV, a projection TV, and a conventional TV. The user only needs to move the gun body 1 three-dimensionally. The actions of the figures in the game will be corresponding to the actions of the operators. Furthermore, with the various switches, the actions of moving forwards and backwards, viewing at various directions, aiming, shooting, and filling ammunition can be performed so that the user plays the game as in a real environment.

Advantages of the present invention will be described herein. The user only needs to move the gun body three-directionally. The figures in the game machine will act corresponding to the action of the gun body. Thereby various switches are used so as to provide the actions of moving forwards and backwards, viewing at various directions, aiming, shooting, and filling ammunition so that the user plays the game as in a real environment. Furthermore, the present invention can be used with a conventional cathode ray tube 4, a liquid crystal display 50 of a notebook computer, a liquid crystal TV, a projection TV, and a conventional TV.

The present invention is thus described, it will be obvious that the same may be varied in many ways. Such variations are not to be regarded as a departure from the spirit and scope of the present invention, and all such modifications as would be obvious to one skilled in the art are intended to be included within the scope of the following claims.
