Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a stand structure for mounting and positioning a computer host, and more particularly to an improved stand structure for holding a compact computer host or the like.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

With the progress of technology, almost every person owns more than one computer. In the early days, several pads are stuck on the bottom of the computer host for the purpose of mounting the computer host, which is a most important and largest-sized component of the computer system. Besides, the computer host is typically flat and occupies more than half of the table surface so it is not easy to shift the computer host.

The computer host such as compact computer nowadays is developed to be light, thin, short, and tiny by the computer manufacturers' research and development such that the computer host can be vertically mounted beside the monitor to occupy a smaller space. However, the impact easily topples down the vertical-type computer host, causing damage and crash to the hardware inside the computer host. As a result, the computer manufacturers currently provide the computer host with a fixing stand structure for securely holding the computer host on the table surface.

However, the conventional stand structure (not shown) is designed for vertically holding the computer host. This conventional stand structure has a base, wherein extendable devices are mounted on the base and blocks are mounted on the extendable devices. As a result, the extendable devices can be positioned in the positioning recesses, which are formed on the outside of the base, by a set of positioning protruding parts. Besides, when these blocks are located vertically, the computer host can be firmly positioned between two opposite blocks. In addition to the vertical type, the computer host may be a horizontal type or hanging type computer host. As a result, the conventional stand structure is not suitable for the horizontal type or hanging type computer host so the above-mentioned defects must be overcame by other methods.

In view of the foregoing defects, the present inventor makes diligent studies in providing consumers with a multi-function stand structure according to the motive of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring to FIG. 1, FIG. 2, or FIG. 3, an improved stand structure of the present invention comprises an I-shaped base 1 consisting of two detachable plates 2, wherein each plate 2 has two protruding parts 21 mounted on top and bottom ends, respectively, a sunken region formed between the protruding parts 21, and a rib 22 formed on one side of an abutting surface of the plate 2. As a result, a positioning trench 23 is formed between the ribs 22 for positioning a computer host, wherein several holes 24 having nuts 25 embedded therein are formed on the inner surfaces of the ribs 22 such that several screws 32 can be screwed into the nuts 25, respectively. Two stair-shaped regions 26 are formed on opposite inner surfaces of the plates 2, respectively. In addition, two coupling blocks 27 having the holes 24 formed thereon are mounted on the stair-shaped region 26 of one plate 2, wherein a trench 28 is formed on one side of one coupling block 27, a protruding block 29 is formed on one side of the other coupling block 27, and a concave region 30 is formed adjacent to each coupling block 27. Besides, another two coupling blocks 27 having the holes 24 formed thereon are mounted on the stair-shaped region 26 of the other plate 2, wherein a protruding block 29 is formed on one side of one coupling block 27, a trench 28 is formed on one side of the other coupling block 27, and a concave region 30 is formed adjacent to each coupling block 27. As a result, these two plates 2 can be coupled with one another by means of the protruding blocks 29 and the trenches 28. In other words, for the purpose of screwing these two plates 2 together, the holes 24 of the coupling blocks 27 are aligned with the holes 24 of the plates 2. Besides, screw holes 31 are formed on both ends of the plates 2 and spaced in compliance with VESA standard. In addition, for the purpose of fixing, screws 32 may be screwed into the screw holes 31.

The improved stand structure is constituted by the above-mentioned structure. Referring to FIG. 1, FIG. 2, or FIG. 3, the present invention is characterized by the base 1, which is composed of two plates, wherein the stair-shaped regions are formed on the opposite inner surfaces of the plates. In addition, the ribs are formed on the plates, respectively, so as to form a positioning trench, wherein several holes are formed on the inner surfaces of the ribs. Besides, screw holes are formed on both ends of the plates for positioning the computer host or being coupled with a computer case such that the computer host can be attached to the wall or the backside of the LCD monitor to prevent spatial restraint and influence, thereby providing convenient usage for increasing convenience and practicability.

Referring to FIG. 4 and FIG. 5, these two plates 2 are assembled together or separated from one another in accordance with different applied embodiments of the present invention. When these two plates 2 are assembled together, the base 1 is designed for holding the computer host 4 in a vertical manner such that the computer host 4 can be vertically mounted in the positioning trench 23, which is formed between the ribs 22, and securely held by the ribs 22 to avoid wobble and overturn. When these two plates 2 are separated from one another, the computer host 4 can be reclined thereon and inserted in the positioning trench 23, which is formed between the ribs 22, and securely held by the ribs 22. As a result, it is not easy to obstruct heat-dissipating holes 42, which are formed on the computer case 41, or cause the computer to crash since the computer case 41 is not reclined on the table surface directly.

Referring to FIG. 6, FIG. 7, or FIG. 8, the screw holes 31 are formed on four corners of the base 1 in accordance with another applied embodiment of the present invention, wherein these screw holes 31 are spaced in compliance with 100 mm by 100 mm or 75 mm by 75 mm VESA standard. In addition, the screws 32 are screwed onto the wall or the backside of the LCD monitor 5 via the screw holes 31. In addition, because these screws holes 31 are spaced at 100 mm by 100 mm or 75 mm by 75 mm, another four screws 32 may be screwed into the holes 24, which are formed on the inner surfaces of the ribs 22 of the plates 2, wherein an embedded depth of the nuts 24 is smaller than a length of the screws 32 such that these screws 32 are protrudent from the plates 2 to form hooks. Besides, several openings 43 are formed on the computer case 41, wherein each of the openings 43 has a narrow top and a wide bottom for insertion of the screws 32. As a result, the base 1 is attached to the backside of the computer host 4 and screwed onto the wall or the backside of the LCD monitor 5 to prevent spatial restraint and influence, thereby providing convenient usage for increasing convenience and practicability.

In summary, the computer host can be mounted and positioned on the improved stand structure of the present invention. Accordingly, the present invention satisfies patentability and is therefore submitted for a patent.

While the preferred embodiment of the invention has been set forth for the purpose of disclosure, modifications of the disclosed embodiment of the invention as well as other embodiments thereof may occur to those skilled in the art. Accordingly, the appended claims are intended to cover all embodiments, which do not depart from the spirit and scope of the invention.
