Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

(a) Technical Field of the Invention

The present invention relates a cabinet and more particularly, to a hanging cabinet that can be hung inside a wardrobe or on an overhead place to keep clothes or other things.

(b) Description of the Prior Art

Due to limited house space, people may hang a hanging cabinet on the back side of the door panel of the door of the kitchen or a wall inside a room for keeping small items. A conventional hanging cabinet is known comprising a body shell formed of tough and flexible sheet material (for example, canvass) and arranged around the top, bottom left and right sides, and a plurality of partition members arranged in the body shell at different elevations to divide the holding space of the body shell into having a plurality of front-open compartments for keeping things. A top opening may be formed in the top side of the body shell for the mounting of a hanger for hanging on a hanging rod inside a wardrobe or at a wall. Hook and loop materials may be used to secure the hanging cabinet to a hanging rod inside a wardrobe or at a wall. According to the aforesaid conventional design, the front-open compartments of the hanging cabinet each have a flat bottom wall that is kept in horizontal. Storage items may protrude over the front side of the front-open compartments, destructing the sense of beauty of the hanging cabinet. Further, storage items may fall out of the front-open compartments when the hanging cabinet is vibrated accidentally, Further, after installation of the hanging cabinet, the user cannot rotate the hanging cabinet through 360-degrees. This limitation narrows the application of the hanging cabinet.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary purpose of the present invention is to provide a hanging cabinet, which has additional side bags on the outside for keeping small items. It is another object of the present invention to provide a hanging cabinet, which has a swivel hook for hanging on an overhead place so that the user can rotate the cabinet body to different directions convenient for arrangement of storage items.

According to one aspect of the present invention, the hanging cabinet comprises a cabinet body, which has two vertical side panels, a vertical back panel, and a plurality of forwardly extending storage chambers surrounded by the vertical side panels and the vertical back panel, and a plurality of side bags respectively mounted on the vertical side panels and the vertical back panel on the outside of the cabinet body for keeping small items. The side bags can be made having at least one horizontally extending open side, or a vertically upwardly extending open side.

According to another aspect of the present invention, two oblique roof panels are joined together and respectively connected to the two vertical side panels of the cabinet body and define with the top wall of the cabinet body a triangular storage chamber.

According to still another aspect of the present invention, a top hanging plate with a swivel hook is provided at the top side of the cabinet body for hanging. By means of the swivel hook, the hanging cabinet can be hung on a rod member inside a wardrobe and freely rotated through 360-degrees.

The foregoing object and summary provide only a brief introduction to the present invention. To fully appreciate these and other objects of the present invention as well as the invention itself, all of which will become apparent to those skilled in the art, the following detailed description of the invention and the claims should be read in conjunction with the accompanying drawings. Throughout the specification and drawings identical reference numerals refer to identical or similar parts.

Many other advantages and features of the present invention will become manifest to those versed in the art upon making reference to the detailed description and the accompanying sheets of drawings in which a preferred structural embodiment incorporating the principles of the present invention is shown by way of illustrative example.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

The following descriptions are of exemplary embodiments only, and are not intended to limit the scope, applicability or configuration of the invention in any way. Rather, the following description provides a convenient illustration for implementing exemplary embodiments of the invention. Various changes to the described embodiments may be made in the function and arrangement of the elements described without departing from the scope of the invention as set forth in the appended claims.

Referring to FIG. 1, a hanging cabinet in accordance with the present invention is shown comprising a cabinet body 1 made out of a tough and flexible sheet material (for example, canvass). The cabinet body 1 has two vertical side panels 11, a vertical back panel 12 connected between the two vertical side panels 11 at a rear side, and a plurality of horizontal partition panels 13 respectively connected between the two vertical side panels 11 at different elevations and defining with the vertical side panels 11 and the vertical back panel 12 a plurality of vertically spaced storage chambers 10 for keeping things. The horizontal partition panels 13 may be directly stitched to the two vertical side panels 11 and the vertical back panel 12. Alternatively, hook and loop materials, snap means, or other fastening devices may be used to secure the horizontal partition panels 13 to the two vertical side panels 11 and the vertical back panel 12.

As shown in FIG. 1, side bags 14 are respectively provided on the outside of the vertical side panels 11 and the vertical back panel 18 for keeping clothes or other small items. These side bags 14 are prepared from a flexible sheet material (canvass, meshed cloth) and stitched with transverse and longitudinal seam lines 142, thereby forming reversed pairs of pockets 141 at different elevations for keeping things.

Further, the side bags 14 can be fastened to the vertical side panels 11 and the vertical back panel 18 with hook and loop materials, snaps, or any suitable fastening means.

FIG. 2 shows an alternate form of the present invention. According to this embodiment, each side bag 14 is stitched with only transverse seam lines, thereby defining a plurality of double open-end pockets at different elevations.

FIG. 3 shows another alternate form of the present invention. According to this embodiment, the vertical side panels 11 and vertical back panel 18 each have a plurality of side bags 14 fixedly provided on the outside at different elevations. Each side bag 14 has a top open side 143.

Referring to FIG. 1 again, the hanging cabinet further comprises a top hanging plate 15, two oblique roof panels 17 each having a bottom side respectively connected to the vertical side panels 11 of the cabinet body 1 and a top side respectively connected to the top hanging plate 15, and a top hook 2 provided at the top center of the top hanging plate 15 for hanging the cabinet body 1 on a rod member 3. Further, the two oblique roof panels 17 define with the top wall of the cabinet body 1 a triangular open space for keeping things.

Referring to FIGS. 7A and 7B, the top hook 2 is pivotally coupled to a holder frame 23 that is fastened to a rod 16 at the top side of the hanging plate 15. Bending a metal plate member into a predetermined shape, having a through hole 231, makes the holder frame 23. Before bending the metal plate member into shape to form the holder frame 23, the hook 2 is inserted through the through hole 231 with the expanded endpiece 21 thereof stopped at one side of the metal plate member. Further, a washer 22 is mounted on the hook 2 and stopped between the expanded endpiece 21. After insertion of the hook 2 through the through hole 231, the metal plate member is bent into shape around the rod 16 at the top side of the hanging plate 15. When installed, the top hook 2 can be rotated through 360-degrees relative to the hanging plate 15.

FIGS. 4˜6 show other different alternate forms of the present invention. These embodiments are respectively similar to the embodiments shown in FIGS. 2, 1 and 3 with the exception that a vertical middle partition panel 12 is provided inside the cabinet body 1, thereby separating each storage chamber 10 into two equal storage compartments.

It will be understood that each of the elements described above, or two or more together may also find a useful application in other types of methods differing from the type described above.

While certain novel features of this invention have been shown and described and are pointed out in the annexed claim, it is not intended to be limited to the details above, since it will be understood that various omissions, modifications, substitutions and changes in the forms and details of the device illustrated and in its operation can be made by those skilled in the art without departing in any way from the spirit of the present invention.
