Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

(a) Technical Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a valve plate, and in particular, to a valve plate which allows the piston cylinder to increase compressed air flow rate.

(b) Description of the Prior Art

FIG. 1 depicts a conventional piston cylinder A1 comprising a cylinder A2, a cylinder mount A3 and a piston A4. The piston A4 is provided with a bottom bearing A5 for connection to a crank shaft A6 so that the power from the motor is transferred to the piston A4 which proceeds to a reciprocation movement.

The top section of the piston A4 has an air inlet sealing plate A41 which moves downward together with the piston A4. Due to inertial force and pressure, both the downward force push the air sealing plate A41 so as to allow air to quickly move into the cylinder A2 via the air inlet hole A42 to be compressed. When the piston A4 moves upward, cylinder A2 will start to compress the air and the effective compressed air is directed into the air discharge seat A7 so that the valve A71 is pushed and the compressed air passes through the air conduit A8. The drawback of the conventional valve plate is that the control mechanism is not uniform and therefore the cost of components of the valve plate is increased. In order to increase the compressed air flow rate so as to increase the volume of the piston cylinder, this method is ineffective to the small size air pump and therefore the objective to reduce cost of production cannot be achieved.

Accordingly, it is an object to provide a valve plate of a piston cylinder which can mitigate the drawbacks of the conventional valve plate.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

The following descriptions are of exemplary embodiments only, and are not intended to limit the scope, applicability or configuration of the invention in any way. Rather, the following description provides a convenient illustration for implementing exemplary embodiments of the invention. Various changes to the described embodiments may be made in the function and arrangement of the elements described without departing from the scope of the invention as set forth in the appended claims.

Referring to FIGS. 2 and 3, there is shown a piston cylinder of an air pump comprising a cylinder mount 1, an air outlet valve plate 2, a cylinder 3, a cylinder inner pad 4 and a piston module 5. The cylinder mount 1 is provided with an air fitting tube connector 12 for the connection to a tube for pumping. The cylinder mount 1 is locked to the cylinder 3 by a locking member 12 with the valve plate 2 in between. The valve plate 2 covers a plurality of air holes 31 arranged in rows on the top face of the cylinder 3, and besides forming as a sealing pad between the cylinder mount 1 and the cylinder 2, the valve plate 2 provides control ability for air compression and air outleting.

In accordance with the present invention, the cylinder inner pad 4 may be removed and the inner wall of the cylinder 3 is treated to allow the piston module 5 to reciprocate within the cylinder 3. When the piston module 5 moves downward, air is withdrawn into the cylinder. That is, the withdrawing of air is completed by way of the air sealing plate 52 and the air inlet hole 51 at the top face of the piston. Thus, under effective of increasing air and the compression of air flow, the number of air inlet hole 51 and the air sealing plate 52 of the piston module can be increased.

As shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, the air outlet valve plate 2 is a flat structure and the surrounding is a circular connection edge 20 and is extended outward to form a plurality of branched plates 21. In between each of the branched plate 21, there is a gap 22 which is equidistant for all the gap 22, and when each of the branched plate 21 covers the air outlet hole 31, the swinging of the branched plate 21 to open and close is independent to each other. In addition, the bottom face of the connection edge 20 surrounding the air outlet valve plate 2 is provided with at least one positioning edge 23 which is corresponding to the positioning edge slot 23 at the top face of the cylinder 3, forming into the required air sealing plate between the cylinder mount and the cylinder 3 so as to provide additional function.

As shown in FIGS. 4 and 7, the cylinder mount 1 is secured to the cylinder 3 by using a locking member 12 and an air outlet valve plate 2 is positioned in between. The interior of the cylinder mount 1 is an urging branched plate 13 corresponding to the individual plate 21. The equal distance of the gap of the urging branched plate 13 allows each of the branched 21 to open or close at the same swinging amplitude such that the air outlet flow rate of each air outlet hole 31 are uniform and of equal amount. As shown in FIGS. 8 and 9, when the piston module 5 within the cylinder 3 reciprocates at a high speed, the compressed air within the cylinder 3 will pass through the air outlet hole 31 at the top section of the cylinder and the branched plate 21 is pushed to compress to expel the air. When the piston module 5 moves downward, the external air is withdrawn via the air inlet hole 51 and air sealing plate 52. In view of the cylinder 3, this is air withdrawing and at this instance, each of the branched plate 21 is closed so that the external air is smoothly directed into the cylinder 3 so as to complete air compression and discharged.

It will be understood that each of the elements described above, or two or more together may also find a useful application in other types of methods differing from the type described above.

While certain novel features of this invention have been shown and described and are pointed out in the annexed claim, it is not intended to be limited to the details above, since it will be understood that various omissions, modifications, substitutions and changes in the forms and details of the device illustrated and in its operation can be made by those skilled in the art without departing in any way from the spirit of the present invention.
