A remote car starter shielding apparatus consisting of a hard, durable, quadrangular convexly shaped shielding component with a hole in it near the top edge thereof through which a key-ring, also affixable to a remote car starter unit, is inserted and with a first piece of hook and fastener material affixed near the bottom edge of the shielding component along with a second piece of hook and fastener material removably affixed to the first piece of hook and fastener material and affixable to the backside of the car starter unit.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The instant invention is one of those sorts of devices serving to prevent inadvertent activation of off/on switching units.

The art disclosed in the herewith submitted Art Informational Statement does not anticipate the instant invention.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION 1. A Brief Description of the Invention

The invention consists of a quadrangular convexly shaped shielding component. There is a hole near the top edge of the shielding component. A key-ring component fits through the hole and is in turn also affixed to a remote car starter unit. Affixed near a bottom edge of the shielding component is a first piece of hook and fastener material, the length of which is sufficient to enable it to be wrapped about the bottom side of the car starter unit and affixable to near a lowermost edge of the first piece of hook and fastener material is a second piece of hook and fastener material. The second piece of hook and fastener material is not as long as the first. This second piece of hook and fastener material is affixed to the back side of the remote car starter unit. When the owner of such a remote car starter unit wishes to shield the front side thereof so as to prevent inadvertent activation of the starter, the owner merely folds the first piece of hook and fastener material around the bottom side of the starter unit to be affixed to the second piece of hook and fastener material earlier removed from the first piece and then permanently affixed to the backside of the starter unit.

2. Objects of the Invention

The invention serves to simply, conveniently, inexpensively and most dependably militate against any inadvertent actuation of a car starter button or a car door locking or unlocking button or a car trunk locking or unlocking button located on the front side of a remote car starter unit while the unit might, for example, be in the car owner's pocket.

A DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

A DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

FIG. 1 depicts a prototypical multi-button remote car starter unit A. FIG. 2 is an exploded view of the component parts of the invention. In FIG. 2 and in FIG. 4 there is to be seen key-ring component 1 which is found inserted through hole 2 near the top edge of a quadrangular convexly shaped shielding component 3. Affixed to near the bottom edge of shielding component 3 as seen in FIG. 4 is an elongated first piece of hook and fastener material 4. Affixable to near a bottom edge of the first piece of hook and fastener material 4 as is also seen in FIG. 4 is a second piece of hook and fastener material 5. The second piece of hook and fastener material 5 is also affixable via adhesive material on the back side thereof to the backside of remote car starter unit A as can be seen in FIG. 3. FIG. 4 depicts in frontally oriented perspective view the invention fully assembled. FIG. 5 depicts the fully assembled invention pivotably conjoined via its key-ring component 1 to starter unit A. FIG. 6 is a frontal plan view of the assembled invention. FIG. 7, a lateral plan view of the invention as shown in FIG. 6 shows the invention about the remote car starter unit A shown in FIG. 1 with switching buttons serving to start a car, lock or unlock the doors of a car, lock or unlock the trunk of a car and also a car alarm button. It should be noted that some remote car starter units A may be equipped with less than all of all of this panoply of switching buttons to be found on the front side thereof. Remote car starter units A not shielded as shown in FIG. 7 are invariably subject to being inadvertently actuated while in the pocket of an owner's clothing. The convex shape of shielding component 3 serves to completely prevent the inadvertent application of pressure to any of the switching elements of a starter unit A shielded, once again, as shown in FIG. 7 where such inadvertent application of pressure would result in an inadvertent starting of a car. Such shielding is accomplished by first affixing the second hook and fastener material 5 to the backside of a starter unit A as shown in FIG. 3. Adhesive material on the backside of second piece of hook and fastener material 5 is exposed by peeling away therefrom a cover piece, discarding the cover piece and then affixing the adherent backside thereof to the backside of a remote car starter unit A after having first separated second piece of hook and fastener material 5 from first piece of hook and fastener material 4. Once this is accomplished, then shielding component 3 is placed over the front face of starter unit A and first piece of hook and fastener material 4 is turned about the bottom side of a starter unit A and the affixed to second piece of hook and fastener material 5 already affixed to the backside of starter unit A as can be seen with resort to FIG. 8.

Respectfully submitted, in view of the relative ease of implementation of the invention as well as the inherent simplicity of the invention together with its unquestionable dependability as respects serving to prevent inadvertent actuation of any switching buttons on a remote car starter unit A, the invention is indeed not only new and unique but is unquestionably useful as well.

Claims

1. A remote car starter shielding apparatus, comprising:

a. a quadrangular, convexly shaped shielding component;
b. a hole near a top edge of said quadrangular, convexly shaped shielding component;
c. a key-ring component inserted through said hole and affixable to a remote car starter unit;
d. an elongated first piece of hook and fastener material affixed near a bottom edge of said quadrangular, convexly shaped shielding component;
e. a second piece of hook and fastener material removably affixed to said first piece of hook and fastener material, and;
f. adhesive means on a backside of said second piece of hook and fastener material for affixing it to a backside of a remote car starter unit.

2. The remote car starter shielding apparatus of claim 1 whereby said quadrangular, convexly shaped shielding component is made of a durable, hard plastic material.

3. The remote car starter shielding apparatus of claim 1 whereby said quadrangular, convexly shaped shielding component is made of a durable, hard wood material.

4. The remote car starter shielding apparatus of claim 1 whereby said quadrangular, convexly shaped shielding component is made of a durable, hard metal material.
