Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to an environmental-friendly book cover packaging with built-in bookmarks and particularly to a book cover with a creative method of packaging the book to achieve its two features of being environmental-friendly and having the built-in bookmark. Besides, it is designed in part to facilitate the packaging for magazines and other similar literature as well as prevent unauthorized reading and ease of recycling.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Typically, books, magazines, and other literature that can be found in the bookstores are not packaged to encourage the consumer to preview the content of such products before making the purchase. However, in recent years the prevalence of information sources means that many books will only be read once. To prevent consumers from reading the literature directly in the stores without buying the books, many books are bound with plastic packaging nowadays. From the environment's perspective, such mass use of plastic poses problems of recycling, thus in creating a solution for such issues, the applicant proposes an easy packaging design that reduces the use of plastic while secures the contents of the literature.

The main goal of this invention is to provide a book cover packaging design that meets environmental standards and has built-in bookmarks. The packaging pages can be attached firmly along the rip-away strips on the two sides of the book to prevent unauthorized reading or dirtying for the books. In addition, the new packaging is also more environmental friendly than using plastic packaging. When the user wishes to read its contents, he can simply rip along the rip line.

A secondary goal of this invention is to make available the ripped strips as built-in bookmarks for the books.

Another goal of this invention is to allow the packaging to be done such that certain contents of the book will be available for preview. By this way, consumers can preview the certain contents before determining to purchase or not, while the rest of the book's contents will be protected and their values ensured.

Yet another goal of this invention is to allow multiple books to be bound together. When it happens, a U-shaped cover can be placed over certain sections to protect their contents. By this way, consumers can preview the contents before determining to purchase or not, while the rest of the book's contents will be protected and their values ensured.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The invention is to provide a book cover packaging design that meets environmental standards and has built-in bookmarks and includes a first packaging page that is to be placed on a front cover page or the next page of the front cover page and attached onto a binding; a second packaging page that is to be placed at a back cover page or the next page of the back cover page and attached onto the binding; a holding slip placed on an upper edge of the first or second packaging page; a rip-away strip that is placed at the appropriate location on the first and second packaging pages adjacent to the holding slip; and a packaging component that is placed adjacent to the holding slips on the front and back packaging pages. Rip lines placed on the first and second packaging pages adjacent to each holding slip are discontinuous and serve as guiding lines to attach the cover onto the packaging. To read the book's contents, users can simply hold the holding slip and rip along the rip lines.

For improvement, the first and second packaging pages are any two package pages which have the content needed to be protected inserted into the book and attached at the binding.

For improvement, the holding slip has a width slightly smaller than the rip-away strip to facilitate stripping.

For improvement, the long-bar shaped rip-away strip ripped from the packaging can be used as a bookmark.

For improvement, the appropriate locations for attaching the rip-away strip on the first and second packaging pages are open spaces along the book sides.

For improvement, the appropriate locations for attaching rip-away strips on the first and second packaging pages are any space of the first and second packaging pages except for the book sides.

This invention meets the requirements for environmental friendliness including a book binding for attaching all pages into one volume; a packaging page that is inserted in the book before attaching pages into one volume by the U-shaped packaging pages having a suitable length to cover up wrapping papers needed to be protected and packaged in the book; rip lines that are situated at appropriate locations of the front and back surfaces of the packaging pages and the middle place of open spaces along the book sides which is covered by the packaging page; and a packaging component that has a plurality of rip-lines placed on the first and second packaging pages adjacent to each holding slip are discontinuous and serve as guiding lines to attach the cover onto the packaging, thereby completing the packaging. To read the book's contents, users can simply hold the holding slip and rip along the rip lines.

For improvement, the packaging component has a holding slip to facilitate the ripping action along the rip lines on the book packaging.

This invention includes a book binding to collect the pages into one volume; a packaging page that is inserted in the book before attaching pages into one volume by the U-shaped packaging pages having a suitable length to cover up wrapping papers needed to be protected and packaged in the book; a rip-away strip that is located at an appropriate location of the front and back surfaces of the packaging page for easily ripping; a holding slip that is located on the upper side of the rip-away strip adjacent to the rip lines on the front and the back packaging pages; and a packaging component that has a plurality of rip-lines placed on the first and second packaging pages adjacent to each holding slip are discontinuous and serve as guiding lines to attach the cover onto the packaging, thereby completing the packaging. To read the book's contents, users can simply hold the specific shape holding slip and rip along the rip lines.

For improvement, the appropriate location of the rip-away slip is any place of the long side of the rip-away slip for easily ripping on the packaging page in the book.

For improvement, the holding slip has a half-circle shape to facilitate the stripping away of the rip-away strip that allows preview of the contents.

For improvement, the rip-away strip ripped from the packaging can be used as a bookmark.
