Attractive tool holder

A tool holder includes a holding member for supporting tool members, one or more magnetic members attached to the rear portion of the holding member for attracting and attaching the holding member to a supporting surface, and an anti-slip member also attached to the rear portion of the holding member for frictionally engaging with the supporting surface. The holding member includes a tool carrier for engaging with and for supporting tool elements or tool members or tool devices which may be quickly obtained by the workers particularly when the workers are worked beneath the chassis of the vehicle, and for avoiding the workers from moving into and out of the tiny space beneath the chassis of the vehicle.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a tool holder, and more particularly to a tool holder including one or more magnetic members attached thereto for detachably attaching or attracting the tool holder onto various supporting objects or surfaces and for allowing the tool members or elements to be quickly fetched or obtained by the users particularly when the users or the workers are worked beneath the chassis of the vehicle.

2. Description of the Prior Art

Typical tool holders comprise a number of openings and/or hooks for attaching or supporting various tool members or elements and for suitably organizing the tool members or elements and thus for allowing the tool members or elements to be quickly fetched or obtained by the users.

For example, U.S. Pat. No. 4,345,688 to De Boer discloses one of the typical tool holder devices comprising a holder body including an open back face for attaching or securing onto a wall or other vertical support surfaces with fasteners. However, the wall or the other vertical support surfaces may not be easily moved along with the users, such that the users or the workers may not quickly fetch or obtain the required tool members or elements, and such that the required tool members or elements may be moved and supported beside the users when the users or the workers are worked beneath the chassis of the vehicle, for example.

U.S. Pat. No. 4,372,468 to Harvey discloses another typical tool holder device comprising a tool support loop secured to a pad which may be provided for attaching or securing onto such as the user's waist belt. However, the required tool members or elements may be easily disengaged from the tool support loop of the tool holder device when the users or the workers are worked beneath the chassis of the vehicle, for example.

U.S. Pat. No. 5,350,071 to Pond discloses a further typical suspendable tray comprising a tray including one or more holding members for selectively engaging with an overhead structure with cables or suspension members. However, the holding members may be attached to the overhead structure that has a number of orifices or openings formed therein, but may not be attached to the vehicles when the users or the workers are worked beneath the chassis of the vehicle, for example.

The present invention has arisen to mitigate and/or obviate the afore-described disadvantages of the conventional tool holders.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a tool holder including one or more magnetic members attached thereto for detachably attaching or attracting the tool holder onto various supporting objects or surfaces and for allowing the tool members or elements to be quickly fetched or obtained by the users particularly when the users or the workers are worked beneath the chassis of the vehicle.

In accordance with one aspect of the invention, there is provided a tool holder comprising a holding member for supporting tool members thereon, and including a rear portion, at least one magnetic member attached to the rear portion of the holding member for attracting and attaching the holding member to a supporting surface, and an anti-slip member attached to the rear portion of the holding member for frictionally engaging with the supporting surface.

The anti-slip member includes an orifice formed therein for forming an annular structure and for receiving the magnetic member therein. The inner peripheral wall and the outer peripheral wall are preferably concentric with each other.

The holding member includes a number of poles extended rearwardly from the rear portion of the holding member for attaching and supporting the anti-slip member. The holding member includes a casing extended rearwardly from the rear portion of the holding member, and the poles are extended or located within the casing.

The casing includes an outer peripheral wall and an inner peripheral wall for forming an annular space between the outer and the inner peripheral walls and for forming a chamber in the inner peripheral wall, and the poles are located in the annular space of the casing. The magnetic member includes a bore formed therein for forming an annular structure.

The outer peripheral wall includes a height greater than that of the inner peripheral wall. The poles include a height greater than that of the inner peripheral wall but smaller than that of the outer peripheral wall.

The casing includes a number of reinforcing ribs provided between the outer and the inner peripheral walls for forming a number of compartments in the annular space of the casing. The poles are extended in the compartments of the casing respectively. The anti-slip member is disposed in the outer peripheral wall of the casing.

The magnetic member is disposed in the chamber of the inner peripheral wall of the casing. The magnetic member is disposed and slightly extended out of the inner peripheral wall of the casing for suitably attaching to and engaging with the supporting surface. The holding member includes a number of cavities formed therein for weight reducing purpose.

The holding member includes a tool carrier provided thereon. The tool carrier may include a gap formed therein for engaging with and for supporting the tool members, or may include an annular structure for engaging with and for supporting a tool device, or may include a rack provided thereon and having a number of rods extended upwardly therefrom for engaging with and for supporting tool elements.

Further objectives and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from a careful reading of the detailed description provided hereinbelow, with appropriate reference to the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

Referring to the drawings, and initially to FIGS. 1-4, a tool holder 1 in accordance with the present invention comprises a holder body or holding member 10 including a longitudinal and planar and molded structure having a number of cavities 11 formed therein and formed by such as molding processes, for such as weight reducing purposes and for increasing the bending strength of the holding member 10. The holding member 10 includes one or more (such as two) casings 12 provided or attached or formed or extended on the rear portion 13 thereof, each for receiving or supporting a magnetic member 30 therein (FIGS. 2-5) and for detachably attaching or attracting the holding member 10 of the tool holder 1 onto various supporting objects or surfaces 80 (FIG. 5), such as the lifting jack for vehicles or the like.

Each of the casings 12 includes an outer peripheral wall 14 and an inner peripheral wall 15 which are preferably disposed concentric with each other for forming an annular space 16 between the peripheral walls 14, 15 and for forming a chamber 17 in the inner peripheral wall 15. The magnetic members 30 may be engaged into the chambers 17 of the inner peripheral walls 15 respectively and secured to the inner peripheral walls 15 with such as fasteners or latches (not shown), adhesive materials, or the like, and are preferably slightly extended out of the inner peripheral walls 15 or the casings 12 for allowing the casings 12 of the holding member 10 to be suitably attracted and secured or attached onto the supporting objects or surfaces 80. It is preferable that the magnetic members 30 are attached to the rear portion 13 of the holding member 11 and each may further include a bore 31 formed therein for forming an annular or ring-shaped structure (FIGS. 2, 3).

As best shown in FIG. 3, it is preferable that the casings 12 each include one or more reinforcing ribs 18 provided or formed between the peripheral walls 14, 15 for forming one or more compartments 19 in the annular space 16 of the casing 12 and defined between the reinforcing ribs 18, and each include a pole 20 extended in each of the compartments 19 of the casings 12 or extended rearwardly from the rear portion 13 of the holding member 11 or extended in the annular space 16 of the casing 12. As best shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, it is preferable that the poles 20 include a height or length slightly greater than the inner peripheral wall 15, but slightly smaller than the outer peripheral wall 14, and it is preferable that the magnetic members 30 are flush with the outer peripheral wall 14 or slightly extended out of the outer peripheral wall 14 when the magnetic members 30 are secured to the inner peripheral walls 15.

An anti-slip or annular member 33 is further provided and attached to the rear portion 13 of the holding member 11 and disposed between the outer peripheral wall 14 and the magnetic member 30 or disposed in the outer peripheral wall 14, and attached or secured to the free ends of the poles 20 with such as fasteners or latches (not shown), adhesive materials, or the like, and the anti-slip or annular member 33 include an orifice 34 formed therein for forming an annular or ring-shaped structure and for receiving the magnetic member 30 therein. Because the poles 20 include a longer height or length than the inner peripheral wall 15, the anti-slip or annular member 33 is not engaged with the inner peripheral wall 15, but may be used to shield the inner peripheral wall 15. In addition, the anti-slip or annular member 33 is not secured to the inner peripheral wall 15 and only secured to the poles 20 such that the annular member 33 may include a suitable flexibility for suitably or snugly and frictionally engaging with the supporting objects or surfaces 80.

The holding member 10 further includes a tool carrier 40, such as a split ring 40 provided or formed in the lower portion 41 thereof and having a gap 42 formed therein for engaging with and for supporting one or more tool members 82, such as wrenches 82 (FIG. 5) or the like, and includes another tool carrier 43, such as a supporting ring 43 provided or formed in the middle portion 44 thereof and having an annular structure for engaging with and for supporting a tool device 84, such as a pneumatic tool device 84 (FIG. 5) or the like, and includes a further tool carrier 45, such as a supporting beam or rack 45 provided or formed in the upper portion 46 thereof and having one or more rods 47 extended upwardly therefrom for engaging with and for supporting tool elements 88, such as sockets 88 (FIG. 5) or the like.

In operation, as shown in FIG. 5, when the user or the worker is worked beneath the chassis of the vehicle, the magnetic members 30 may attach or secure or attract the holding member 10 of the tool holder 1 onto various supporting objects or surfaces 80, such as the lifting jack for vehicles, the wheel rims, the chassis of the vehicle or the like, for supporting the required or selected tool members 82, and/or the tool device 84, and/or the tool elements 88 and for allowing the tool members 82 and/or the tool elements 88 and/or the tool device 84 to be quickly fetched or obtained by the user particularly when the user or the worker is worked beneath the chassis of the vehicle, and thus for avoiding or preventing the user or the worker from moving into and out of the tiny space beneath the chassis of the vehicle. It is preferable that the casings 12 each include an inner peripheral shoulder 36 provided or formed in the inner peripheral wall 14 for seating or engaging with or anchoring the magnetic members 30 and arranged to be slightly extended out of the inner peripheral walls 15 or the casings 12.

Accordingly, the tool holder in accordance with the present invention includes one or more magnetic members attached thereto for detachably attaching or attracting the tool holder onto various supporting objects or surfaces and for allowing the tool members or elements to be quickly fetched or obtained by the users particularly when the users or the workers are worked beneath the chassis of the vehicle.

Although this invention has been described with a certain degree of particularity, it is to be understood that the present disclosure has been made by way of example only and that numerous changes in the detailed construction and the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.

Claims

1. A tool holder comprising:

a holding member for supporting tool members thereon, and including a rear portion,
at least one magnetic member attached to said rear portion of said holding member for attracting and attaching said holding member to a supporting surface, and
an anti-slip member attached to said rear portion of said holding member for frictionally engaging with the supporting surface.

2. The tool holder as claimed in claim 1, wherein said anti-slip member includes an orifice formed therein for forming an annular structure and for receiving said at least one magnetic member therein.

3. The tool holder as claimed in claim 1, wherein said holding member includes a plurality of poles extended rearwardly from said rear portion of said holding member for attaching and supporting said anti-slip member.

4. The tool holder as claimed in claim 3, wherein said holding member includes a casing extended rearwardly from said rear portion of said holding member, and said poles are extended in said casing.

The tool holder as claimed in claim 4, wherein said casing includes an outer peripheral wall and an inner peripheral wall for forming an annular space between said outer and said inner peripheral walls and for forming a chamber in said inner peripheral wall, and said poles are located in said annular space of said casing.

6. The tool holder as claimed in claim 5, wherein said outer peripheral wall includes a height greater than that of said inner peripheral wall.

7. The tool holder as claimed in claim 6, wherein said poles include a height greater than that of said inner peripheral wall but smaller than that of said outer peripheral wall.

8. The tool holder as claimed in claim 5, wherein said casing includes a plurality of reinforcing ribs provided between said outer and said inner peripheral walls for forming a plurality of compartments in said annular space of said casing.

9. The tool holder as claimed in claim 8, wherein said poles are extended in said compartments of said casing.

10. The tool holder as claimed in claim 5, wherein said anti-slip member is disposed in said outer peripheral wall of said casing.

11. The tool holder as claimed in claim 5, wherein said at least one magnetic member is disposed in said chamber of said inner peripheral wall of said casing.

12. The tool holder as claimed in claim 11, wherein said at least one magnetic member is disposed and extended out of said inner peripheral wall of said casing for attaching to the supporting surface.

13. The tool holder as claimed in claim 5, wherein said inner peripheral wall and said outer peripheral wall are concentric with each other.

14. The tool holder as claimed in claim 1, wherein said holding member includes a plurality of cavities formed therein for weight reducing purpose.

15. The tool holder as claimed in claim 1, wherein said holding member includes a tool carrier provided thereon.

16. The tool holder as claimed in claim 15, wherein said tool carrier includes a gap formed therein for engaging with and for supporting the tool members.

17. The tool holder as claimed in claim 15, wherein said tool carrier includes an annular structure for engaging with and for supporting a tool device.

18. The tool holder as claimed in claim 15, wherein said tool carrier includes a rack provided thereon and having a plurality of rods extended upwardly therefrom for engaging with and for supporting tool elements.

19. The tool holder as claimed in claim 1, wherein said at least one magnetic member includes a bore formed therein for forming an annular structure.
