Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a door frame system for use in an entrance glass door of a building, and more particularly, to an improvement of a door frame system (hereinafter, referred to as a “prior art”) as disclosed in U.S. patent application Ser. No. 11/309,288 filed on Jul. 21, 2006 by the same applicant as this invention, in which the prior art door frame system includes a door frame having a bench guide formed at one side of the interior of inclined faces being narrow toward the top side thereof, that is, at the upper portion space thereof, and a support protrusion with a support groove adapted to insert a fixed bench thereto, a pressure bench formed on the front face of the fixed bench, and a compression rail for moving the pressure bench, such that as the pressure bench is moved in a horizontal direction by a fastening bolt, a plate glass is compressed and fixed in the door frame, and the prior art door frame system further has a brush assembly coupled at the lower space portion thereof.

2. Background of the Related Art

According to the prior art, when the fastening bolt is fastened in a locking direction thereof, the compression rail is raised along the inclined guide face and at the same time moves the pressure bench in a horizontal direction, such that the plate glass is compressed and fixed. Of course, this operation is the same as in the door frame system of this invention.

According to the present invention, however, the vertical face and the horizontal face of the door frame that are disposed at the opposite side to the compression rail are formed integrally to the door frame, and as a result, when the plate glass is compressed and fixed, the door frame is not twisted.

According to the present invention, further, the door frame has a vertical hollow formed on one side thereof, which maintains the balance of the door frame and gives the advantages of the reduction of the weight and material, and also, when the plate glass is compressed and fixed, the formation of the hollow provides elasticity to the vertical face and the horizontal face, which gives an effect of distributing the pressure applied to the plate glass.

On the other hand, referring to the parts of the prior art, the door frame system includes a door frame having a bench guide formed at one side of the upper portion space thereof, and a support protrusion with a support groove adapted to insert a fixed bench thereto, the fixed bench being detachably assembled thereto but being not moved therefrom after the insertion, a pressure bench formed on the front face of the fixed bench for supporting the base face of the fixed bench and for compressing the plate glass by only the horizontal movement thereof, and a compression rail formed between the pressure bench and the door frame for horizontally moving the pressure bench during raising. Further, the door frame system includes bridges having screw holes formed facing each other, the screw holes having a relatively thick pressure-supporting part resistant to a strong pressure with no distortion formed at one sides thereof and a plurality of bolt holes formed passed through the top and bottom of the center portion of the pressure-supporting part, for inserting the fastening bolt into the bolt holes to push the compression rail upwardly. In addition, the door frame system has a brush assembly coupled at the bottom portion of the vertical wall surfaces thereof, for preventing the external dust and contaminated air from entering the inside thereof. Therefore, the door frame system is easily and rapidly assembled with the door, even though the assembling operation is carried out by a worker not skilled in the art, and especially, the door frame system is installed irrespective of the door sizes.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

Accordingly, the present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned problems occurring in the prior art, and it is an object of the present invention to provide a door frame system that does not need separately a bench guide, a guide groove, a support protrusion with a support groove, and a fixed bench assembled to them, as assembling/disassembling parts in the prior art, and instead of them, has a vertical reference face and a horizontal reference face formed perpendicularly to each other on the door frame itself.

It is another object of the present invention to provide a door frame system that is capable of reducing the number of manufacturing and assembling processes and giving conveniences in the logistical management, and especially, that is capable of preventing the door frame from being twisted when a socket bolt is fastened to fix the plate glass, thereby accurately fixing the plate glass and the door frame linearly on the same line.

To accomplish the above objects, according to the present invention, there is provided a door frame system including: a door frame having an inclined guide face formed on one side of the inner surfaces of the upper portion thereof in such a manner as to become narrow toward the top and become wide toward the bottom, a vertical reference face and a horizontal reference face formed perpendicularly to each other on the opposite face to the inclined guide face, a guide groove formed below the horizontal reference face, bridges formed below the guide groove and having screw holes cut facing each other and a plurality of bolt holes passed along the longitudinal direction of the door frame through the side portions distant from the vertical center portions thereof for inserting a socket bolt thereto, guide grooves formed at the both inner surfaces of the lower portion thereof, and brush-assembling grooves formed at the both inner surfaces of the bottom portion thereof; a pressure bench having a plate glass-compressing face formed facing the vertical reference face of the door frame for compressing a plate glass, a horizontal face formed perpendicular to the plate glass-compressing face, and a pressure generation face formed on the rear portion thereof; a compression rail having a generally triangular-shaped section for compressing the pressure bench; and a brush assembly having a brush formed of thick hairs for preventing external dust and contaminated air from entering the interior of the door frame system.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

The above and other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will be apparent from the following detailed description of the preferred embodiments of the invention in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which:

FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing a door frame system according to the present invention, at a state of being assembled partially on the bottom end face of a plate glass;

FIG. 2 is one side view showing the door frame system according to the present invention; and

FIG. 3 is a sectional view showing the assembled state of the parts of the door frame system according to the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

The present invention is directed to a door frame system including a door frame A for assembling with the whole door frame system structure, a pressure bench B for closely fixing a plate glass G, a compression rail C for compressing the pressure bench B such that the pressure bench B comes into close contact with the plate glass G, and a socket bolt D for pushing and raising the compression rail C such that the plate glass G is compressed and fixed.

Hereinafter, an explanation of a door frame system according to the present invention will be given with reference to the attached drawings.

FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing a door frame system according to the present invention at a state of being assembled partially on the bottom end face of a plate glass, FIG. 2 is one side view showing the door frame system according to the present invention, and FIG. 3 is a sectional view showing the assembled state of the parts of the door frame system according to the present invention.

The door frame A includes, as shown in FIG. 2, a vertical reference face 3 formed at one side of the inner surfaces of the upper portion inclined at the external surfaces thereof, a horizontal reference face 4 formed perpendicularly to the vertical reference face 3, and a guide groove 5 formed below the horizontal reference face 4.

Further, a hollow 7a is formed at the outside of the vertical reference face 3 and the horizontal reference face 4, and a hollow 7b is formed below the guide groove 5. In this case, bridges 6 are defined by the hollow 7b, having screw holes 8 cut facing each other and a plurality of bolt holes 12 passed therethrough the side portions distant from the vertical center portions thereof.

Additionally, the door frame A includes a lower vertical portion 10 formed at the both sides of the lower portion thereof, the lower vertical portion 10 having a guide groove 9 formed at the both inner surfaces of the middle portion thereof and a brush-assembling groove 11 formed at the both inner surfaces of the bottom portion thereof.

Next, the pressure bench B of the present invention includes a plate glass-compressing face 21 formed facing the vertical reference face 3, a horizontal face 25 and a slider 23 formed stepped below the plate glass-compressing face 21, a base 24 formed on the bottom surface thereof, and a pressure generation face 22 formed at the rear portion thereof, such that when the slider 23 is inserted into the guide groove 5 of the door frame A, the pressure bench B is assembled with the door frame A.

Further, the compression rail C has a triangle-like shape on its section, and it includes a compression face 31 formed on the front portion thereof in such a manner as to be in close contact with the pressure generation face 22 of the pressure bench B, a pressure friction face 32 formed on the rear portion thereof in such a manner as to be slidably raised to come into close contact with the inclined guide face 2 of the door frame A when the socket bolt D is fastened, and a flat base face formed abutting with the end of the socket bolt D, such that the compression rail C is fittably assembled between the assembled pressure bench B and the inclined guide face 2 of the door frame A.

On the other hand, the guide grooves 9 of the door frame A are assembled with a balance member H for coupling with a hinge link F, and each of the brush-assembling grooves 11 formed at the lower portion of the door frame A is assembled with a brush assembly E having a brush formed of dense hairs. Further, a closing cap I is coupled by means of screws J on the both end surfaces of the door frame A, such that under the above configuration, the door frame A can be installed on the entrance door frame. This will be in detail described below.

FIG. 3 is a sectional view showing the assembled state of the parts of the door frame system according to the present invention. The assembled procedure is as follows.

First, the socket bolt D is fastened upwardly to the plurality of bolt holes 12 passed through the bridges 6, and at this time, the end of the socket bolt D is not exposed above the upper bridge 6.

Next, the pressure bench B and the compression rail C are assembled in the upper space of the door frame A.

In other words, the slider 23 of the pressure bench B is inserted into the guide groove 5 formed below the horizontal reference face 4 and the vertical plate glass-compressing face 25 is disposed facing the vertical reference face 3, thereby finishing the assembling with the door frame A.

When assembled like this, the base 24 of the pressure bench B is placed on the top surface of the upper bridge 6 and the rear surface of the pressure bench B faces the inclined guide face 2. At this state, a triangle-like space where the compression rail C can be inserted is formed between the inclined guide face 2 and the pressure generation face 22. At this time, if the compression rail C is insertedly pushed into the triangle-like space, the assembling state is made as shown in FIG. 3. The plate glass G is fitted between the vertical reference face 3 and the pressure bench B, as shown in FIG. 1, and after that, if the socket bolt D is fastened, it is raised, while pushing the compression rail C in an upward direction at the end surface thereof.

Thus, as the compression rail C is raised by the socket bolt D, the pressure friction face 32 has a friction relation with the inclined guide face 2 of the door frame A, and at the same time, the pressure generation face 31 has a friction relation with the pressure generation face 22 of the pressure bench B. During this process, the pressure bench B is moved toward the plate glass G under no pressure, such that the plate glass G moving under the pressure of the pressure bench B receives a strong pressure between the vertical reference face 3 and the plate glass-compressing face 21 at the instant when the opposing surface of the plate glass G under no pressure from the pressure bench B comes into close contact with the vertical reference face 3, thereby being rigidly fixed therebetween, without any movement. The door frame A is assembled on the both top and bottom sides of the plate glass G, thereby finishing one door, and so as to provide a function of the entrance door therefore, the assembled door is installed at the frame of the entrance door.

As set forth in the foregoing, according to the present invention, the vertical reference face and the horizontal reference face, which serve to support the plate glass when the plate glass is fixed, are formed as an integral body with the door frame, not as a detachably assembling structure, such that when the socket bolt is fastened to compress the compression rail against the pressure bench, the door frame can be fixed in a linear state with respect to the plate glass, aligning on the surface of the plate glass.

Additionally, the formation of the vertical reference face and the horizontal reference face as an integral body with the door frame gives another effects of the present invention. That is, even though the strong fastening of the socket bolt causes the compression rail and the pressure bench to be under a severe pressure, the vertical reference face is connected to the bridges at the lower portion thereof, such that the door frame is not twisted at all.

The forgoing embodiment is merely exemplary and is not to be construed as limiting the present invention. The present teachings can be readily applied to other types of apparatuses. The description of the present invention is intended to be illustrative, and not to limit the scope of the claims. Many alternatives, modifications, and variations will be apparent to those skilled in the art.
