FIELD OF THE INVENTION

This invention relates to the field of pockets, in particular a pocket that can be placed anywhere and for any purpose a person requires it.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The concept of the pocket has been around since the invention of clothing and a need to conveniently store or conceal items for quick retrieval. The problems that exist are that these pockets are placed where the manufactures of the clothing think they will be of best use to the consumer. Most pockets are constructed of a cloth that is susceptible to the weather and our environment. Pockets that are visible to the public are easy targets for theft and loss.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

A pocket that may be placed wherever and on whatever a person desires giving the freedom to customize an article of clothing or an accessory to fit a specific need. A person may choose to place the pocket hidden from public sight, further securing the contents yet remaining accessible for quick retrieval. Having a hook and loop type closure, the pocket opening securely fastens to help prevent accidental loss of its contents. Constructed of a cloth/water resistant/water proof material that helps protect the pocket's contents from weather and the surrounding environment.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING

FIG. 1 is the front elevation view of the pocket.

FIG. 1A is the top elevation view of the pocket showing the pocket opening

FIG. 2 is the back elevation view of the pocket

FIG. 3 is a side elevation view of the pocket

FIG. 4 is the bottom elevation view of the pocket

FIG. 5 is a view of a device to attach the pocket to a cloth article.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The pocket starts as a single piece of cloth/water resistant/water proof material. The base fabric provides the protection for the completed pocket's contents from the weather and environment. The top and bottom raw edges are then hemmed, to prevent unraveling of the fabric. Next the right and left side raw edges are sewn together, FIG. 2 3, this seam becomes the center line for the back of the pocket. The loop side fastener is centered and sewn to the top inside of the back of the pocket, FIG. 1A 2, and the hook side fastener is centered and sewn to the top inside of the front of the pocket, FIG. 1A 1. The bottom front and back hemmed edges are then sewn together and the sewn seam is continued to the top of each side, FIGS. 3 & 4 5, leavening a hem, FIGS. 1, 1A, 3, & 4 6, and the desired side gussets. These gussets give the pocket a third dimension affording the pocket greater capacity, FIGS. 3 & 4 7. FIG. 5 is a piece of double sided iron on material cut to the size of the finished pocket back. Both of the material's surfaces are coated with an adhesive that bonds the material to another surface when heat is applied via an ordinary iron. One side is bonded to the pocket, FIG. 5 4, and the other is bonded to the other object at a person discretion. This enables a secure and accessible location of the pocket to fit ones personal needs. Also provided are hook and loop fasteners with adhesive backings to attach the pocket to any surface incapable of, or in locations to difficult to use the iron on fasteners.
