Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Technical Field

The present invention relates to backpacks, and more particularly, to a backpack provided with a frame assembly and suitable for drivers of bicycles or motorcycles to use during their driving.

2. Description of Related Art

The major purpose of a backpack is to accommodate objects therein. Some desirable backpacks are advantaged by easy loading and unloading of objects and therefore free users hands from holding the objects. Especially, when riding, a rider has to hold handles of a bicycle or a motorcycle to steer with his/her both hands, and thus needs a backpack for carrying objects. As in recent years, people intend more to leisure activities such as motorcycle trips or bicycle trips, backpacks are even more popularly implemented to carry various objects for meeting the riders' needs during their riding.

However, as a motorcycle or a bicycle is only equipped with two wheels, a rider thereof is liable to fall down during his/her riding. When the rider accidentally falls down from the motorcycle or bicycle, an unrecoverable damage may happen to him/her if he/she gets injured at his/her head, neck or spine. Hence, it is a creative solution if a backpack is capable of protecting a rider wearing the same and enhancing the safety during the rider's riding.

Further, though some motorcycles are provided with bags or boxes thereon for accommodating objects, such bags or boxes are typically fixedly settled and not removable. Therefore, the objects left in the bags or boxes that can not be carried along with the users may liable to be stolen. On the other hand, a tail lamp at a rear potion of a motorcycle is generally located lower as compared with a rider thereon. Thus, it would be difficult for a driver in a closely approaching large vehicle to detect illumination of such a tail lamp at night. As a result, accidents such as fender-bender or crash may frequently happen.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention has been accomplished under these circumstances in view. It is one objective of the present invention to provide a backpack having a bag and a frame assembly. The disclosed backpack is provide with a support force and suitable for drivers of bicycles or motorcycles to use during their driving.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

As shown in FIG. 1, a perspective view of one embodiment of the present invention, the disclosed backpack presents a constant solid contour even when there is nothing loaded therein. Also referring to FIG. 2, the disclosed backpack comprises a bag 10 and a frame assembly 20. The bag 10 further comprises a first fixing board 11, a second fixing board 11′ (positioned in the bag 10 symmetrically with respect to the first fixing board 11), a third fixing board 12, a fourth fixing board 13, and a fifth fixing board 13′ (positioned in the bag 10 symmetrically with respect to the fourth fixing board 13). According to the present embodiment, the first and second fixing boars 11, 11′ are respectively formed into a 1 shape. The third fixing board 12 is curved. The fourth and fifth fixing boards 13, 13′ are respectively formed into a rectangle. Therein, the first and second fixing boars 11, 11′ are settled at two upper side of the bag 10. The third fixing board 12 is settled at a center of a surface of the bag 10. The fourth and fifth fixing boards 13, 13′ are settled at two lower side of the bag 10. The fixing boards 11, 11′, 12, 13, 13′ further comprise a plurality of combining holes a. The fixing boards may be combined with the frame assembly 20 by the combining holes a in a screwing or riveting means. Thereby, the frame assembly 20 can be firmly combined with the bag 10. The fixing boards may be settled inside the bag 10 or in an interlining of the bag 10 so as to integrate the bag 10 with the frame assembly 20. Please refer to FIGS. 2 through 5. The frame assembly 20 comprises a bottom frame 21, a first lateral frame 22, and a second lateral frame 23. The bottom frame 21, the first lateral frame 22, and the second lateral frame 23 further comprise a plurality of combining holes b. Two ends of the bottom frame 21 are connected to the third fixing board 12. One end of the first lateral frame 22 and one end of the second lateral frame 23 are connected to the third fixing board 12, respectively. An opposite end of the first lateral frame 22 is connected to the first fixing board 11 while an opposite end of the second lateral frame 23 is connected to the second fixing board 11′. Thus, the first lateral frame 22, the bottom frame 21 and the second lateral frame 23 combined in sequence to form the frame assembly 20. Furthermore, each unit of the frame assembly 20 has a solid sectional structure. According to the present embodiment, the solid sectional structure is a groove structure d or a box structure e (as shown in FIG. 5). The groove structure d or the box structure e provides the frame assembly 20 with enhanced strength for resisting various external forces. Therefore, the solid contour of bag 10 can be held and the structural strength of the frame assembly 20 can be improved entirely. Moreover, the bottom frame 21 is formed into a roughly U shape and has two upper ends bent inward. The bottom frame 21 is connected with the third fixing board 12 at the two bent upper ends and is connected with the fourth and fifth fixing boards 13, 13′ at two lower ends. The first lateral frame 22 and the second lateral frame 23 are shaped as a ladle, respectively. Further, the first lateral frame 22 and the second lateral frame 23 are arranged such that openings of the ladles are facing each other. Therein the two lower ends of the bottom frame 21 are connected to the fourth fixing board 13 and the fifth fixing board 13′. According to the present embodiment, the fixing boards and frame assembly 20 are combined by means of a plurality of bolts that pass through the combining holes a and b so as to reinforce the combination between the bottom frame 21 and the bag 10. As there are numerous bolts shown in FIG. 2, only some of the same are selectively marked with denotative letter c and assembly lines. Also, the design of continuously bent frames contributes to the capability of resisting external force.

Please see FIGS. 2, 6 and 7. In the present embodiment, a plurality of connecting holes 201 may be provided on the bottom frame 21, the first lateral frame 22, and the second lateral frame 23. Thereby, a net accessory 30 including a net 31 and a plurality of combining belts 32 can be attached to the bag 10 by fastening the combining belts 32 around the connecting holes 201. Thus, an accommodating space is defined between the net accessory 30 and the bag 10. Further, the magnitude of the accommodating space can be adjusted by modifying the length of the combining belts 32. For example, a helmet h can be stored in and carried by the described manner, as shown in FIG. 7. Alternatively, instead of the net accessory 30, a plurality of ropes may be assembled to the connecting holes 201 so that objects can be suspended thereon. Of course, if the ropes are crisscross arranged and fastened around the connecting holes 201, an extendable accommodating space can be defined for flexible usage. Furthermore, if the ropes are made of an elastic material, the accommodating space can be further extended and an elastic fixing force can be provided. Thus the convenience is achieved.

In FIGS. 8 to 10, two shoulder straps 14 are provided on the bag 10. At least one of the shoulder straps 14 is equipped with a female buckle 141 for receiving therein a male buckle 1421 deposited on a pocket 142. As the male buckle 1421 is substantially a rectangle, it can be slid in to the female buckle 141 by two long sides thereof and when arriving a predetermined position, the male buckle 1421 can be rotated for 90 degrees by rotating the packet 142. Thereupon, the male buckle 1421 and the female buckle 141 can be fittingly combined and the pocket 142 can be secured from falling off the bag 10. While the buckle assembly of the present embodiment is illustrated, it is to be understood that many other buckle assemblies may be applied to the present invention. In addition, the pocket 142 may be realized by any objects having a male buckle on itself or on a housing or shell covering it that mates with the female buckle, such as a mobile phone case, a Walkman or an MP 3 player.

As shown in FIGS. 11 and 12, a bottle receiving recess 15 is provided on the bag 10. The bottle receiving recess 15 comprises a pouch 151 and a fixing belt 152. The fixing belt 152 further comprises an opening 1521. When a bottle b is set in the bottle receiving recess 15, a neck thereof can pass through the opening 1521. Then the fixing belt 152 can be combined with the pouch 151 so as to fix the bottle b firmly. Besides, a set of hook and loop tapes 153 may be provided on the pouch 151 and the fixing belt 152, respectively, at aligned locations. Thereby, the fixing belt 152 will not be departed from the bottle b unintentionally so that the bottle b can be securely positioned for easy access and placing.

Besides, as shown in FIG. 12, a luminary 16, such as a light-emitting diode (LED), may be provided on the bag 10, so that when a rider rides at night wearing the disclosed subject matter, the luminary 16 functions for warning a driver in a car behind the rider.

To sum up, since the frame assembly 20 is combined with the bag 10, the disclosed backpack can present a constant solid contour, which is advantaged by the convenience of easy loading and unloading objects, and enhanced impact resistance. Also, because the frame assembly 20 is made of metal, plastic, or a compound material, the properties of the materials facilitate improving the safety of the backpack. In addition, as foam is filled in the interlining of the bag 10, when the rider receives impact, the elasticity of the foam and the rigidity of the frame assembly 20 can efficiently buffer the transient strong impact so as to reduce potential damage and provide enhanced comfort and safety to the user. On the other hand, since the backpack is located relatively higher, even a driver in a higher cockpit of a large vehicle can easily detect the light radiates from the luminary 16 on the backpack. Hence, the disclosed backpack has the function of warning a behind driver so as to achieve a completely active protection.

Although a particular embodiment of the invention has been described in detail for purposes of illustration, it will be understood by one of ordinary skill in the art that numerous variations will be possible to the disclosed embodiments without going outside the scope of the invention as disclosed in the claims.
