Towel Wrap

A towel wrap is formed with a main towel drying section with two towel tie extensions extending outwardly from the upper corners of the towel section. Once the towel wrap is wrapped around and encircled about the user's body, the tie extensions are inserted into cutout openings through the towel section and then tied together to retain the towel wrap on the user.

Description
BACKGROUND THE INVENTION

After using a large beach type towel to dry off, upon exiting from bath, shower, pool, or other water related activity, the user will often wrap that towel around his or her body. Retaining such towels around the user's body is generally accomplished by the haphazard tucking of the upper edges or corners of the towel under the upper portion of the towel. This means of retaining a wrapped towel tends to be temporary, in that the towel must continually be adjusted and, in fact, there is never any assurance that the towel will even stay on the user's body. When a towel is wrapped and retained in this fashion, it is subject to easily slipping or even falling.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

It is the object of the present invention to overcome the disadvantages and limitations of prior towel wraps.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a towel wrap which can easily be wrapped, encircled, and secured for retention around an individual's body.

It is another object of the present invention to provide a towel wrap which can be used to dry an individual's body and, at the same time, ensure that the wrap is securely retained around the individual.

It is still another object of the present invention to provide a towel wrap with means to retain the wrap around the body of an individual which is secured to or integrally manufactured as part of the towel wrap.

It is a further object of the present invention to provide a towel wrap with body retaining means which is economic to manufacture.

These and other objects are accomplished by the present invention, a towel wrap which consists of a main towel drying section with two towel tie extensions extending outwardly from the upper corners of the towel section. Once the towel wrap is wrapped around and encircled about the user's body, the tie extensions are inserted into cutout openings through the towel section and then tied together to retain the towel wrap on the user.

The novel features which are considered as characteristic of the invention are set forth in particular in the appended claims. The invention, itself, however, both as to its design, construction and use, together with additional features and advantages thereof, are best understood upon review of the following detailed description with reference to the accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 shows the towel wrap of the present invention retained on the user's body.

FIG. 2 shows the manner of use of the towel wrap of the present invention.

FIG. 3 is a plan view of the towel wrap of the present invention.

FIG. 4 is an elevation view of the towel wrap of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Towel wrap 1 comprises main towel section 2 having a substantially rectangular configuration. The shape of towel section 2 is not to be considered restricted to a rectangle. Any appropriate shape is contemplated. Towel section 2 is optimally manufactured out of a cotton, terry cloth type towel material for the ready absorption of water, to dry off the user. However, similar equivalent moisture absorbent material can be used.

Extending at a slight angle from upper corners 8 and 10 of towel section 2 are towel tie extensions 4 and 6, which can be integrally formed from the towel section or attached by sewing or similar means to the corners of the towel section.

Towel section 2 also comprises cutout openings 12, 13 and 14, 15, located adjacent to corners 8 and 10 and extending through the material of the towel section. Cutout openings 12, 13 and 14, 15 are threaded around their perimeters, similar to the threaded perimeters of button holes.

In use, towel section 2 is wrapped around the body of user 30 so as to encircle the user. As shown in FIG. 2, towel tie extension 4 is then inserted into either cutout opening 14 or 15, depending on the size of the user. Towel tie extension 6 is next inserted into cutout opening 12 or 13, as appropriate. Towel tie extensions 4 and 6 are joined, i.e. tied together, as shown in FIG. 1, to retain towel wrap 1 around user 30.

Certain novel features and components of this invention are disclosed in detail in order to make the invention clear in at least one form thereof. However, it is to be clearly understood that the invention as disclosed is not necessarily limited to the exact form and details as disclosed, since it is apparent that various modifications and changes may be made without departing from the spirit of the invention.

Claims

1. A towel wrap comprising:

towel section means for encircling the body of a user, said towel section means comprising cutout openings extending therethrough; and
towel tie means extending outwardly from the towel section means for insertion into the cutout openings, whereby the insertion of the towel tie means into the cutout openings and the joinder of the towel tie means retains the towel section means around the user's body.

2. The towel wrap as in claim 1 wherein the towel tie means extend from corners of the towel section means.

3. The towel wrap as in claim 2 wherein the cutout openings are located adjacent to the corners of the towel section means.

4. The towel wrap as in claim 1 wherein the towel tie means extend at an angle in relation to the towel section means.
